This is a clear example of how the organization is run. The organization in The Devil Wears Prada is headed by Miranda, her assistant Andy who is also assisted by Emily Charlton. They are forced to quickly learn Miranda’s preferences and behaviors in order to facilitate the smooth running of their business and in addition to that, in order to meet Miranda’s expectations. Andrea is forced to change her behaviors and attitude of a simple and plain style in order to gain acceptance and adapt to the fashion world organization since she is no longer in journalism. Miranda’s leadership style in The Devil Wears Prada is pitiless as she wants her employees to do everything she wants without questioning. She keeps them on toes and for sure this helps the organization to expand in the fashion world. Miranda is a leader quick witted and ruthless and she never accepted anything less than perfect from her employees (Ryan, N. 2007.pp 20)

In 2006, David Frankel made a movie version of The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger. The book and the movie are both set in New York and tell the story of a girl named Andy. In both versions Andy starts working for Miranda Priestly, editor-in chief of Runway, a fashion magazine. Generally the film version of The Devil Wears Prada, what kind of experiences Andy passes through is similar to what Andy experiences in Weisberger’s novel. However, the movie is different form the book because some characters have a different appeal and image, Andy’s love life might end up positive, and it ends in a different way.
For instance, Miranda became a Consultative leader by asking co-worker and Art director of the firm, Nigel, whether the dress wasn’t too similar to another designers and to choose which jacket would go with the outfit picked for the fashion run through. However we see Miranda being softer on Nigel throughout the film. This could be something to do with the position Nigel is in. He is already a man of knowledge and experience, and therefore should be treated differently to others. His experience means Miranda trusts him with more responsibilities.

Every organization was established to meet needs or goals, for example, to provide goods or services. Organizational structures may form in many ways; these were influenced by factors such as the purpose, size of the company or the complexity of the tasks it performs, and the external environment and culture. Moreover, the products, services or the location of the organization will also determine which structure was the best. The structure chosen will govern the way in which the organization operates and could occur either positive or negative effects. Below are some types of organizational structure that usually see.
