Abstract The used of fibre optic technology in subsea control system has impressively improved the communication capacity, quality and reliability. It provides large bandwidth, extend step-out distant with minimum error rate. This survey paper will focus on basic overview of fibre optic transferring data in communication system, key benefits of using fibre optic in subsea production control system, comparison between the used of fibre optic and cooper wire, key components and consideration of fibre optic design for subsea control and case study of Ormen Lange oil and gas production field that use fibre optic technology in subsea communication system. Introduction The growth of demand in oil and gas consumption has led to substantial investment towards the industry. New technologies and systems are introduced to increase the production of hydrocarbon. Field go deeper and isolate to explore new and extensive amount of oil and gas. That is why, subsea oil and gas discoveries getting popular. Advance technologies were used to overcome challenges and resistant, such as multiphase flow measurement, artificial reservoir lift system and intelligent monitoring sensor for well. However, to control such that technologies, they requires reliable communication system that can transfer high amount of speed data with minimum failures. Umbilical has to design with data highway to support communication between topside control systems to subsea control modules. Traditionally, the data are
The AXI protocol provides a high frequency operation to the devices without using complex bridges in the circuits. It meets the requirements of interfaces with wide range of components. The important features in AXI protocol are – It has separate address, control and data lines. The data which are not aligned in a proper way, the AXI supports to transfer them by using byte strobes. It consists of separate read/write channels to enable Direct Memory access (DMA). So that designer can communicate with DMA and internal memories
CE 1.3.3 I studied plant system architecture and the interfaces with the distributed control system (DCS) and emergency control system (ESD) of Honeywell,as this was key aspect for interface. Since the data like signal values, alarms, trips etc. from MCMS was serially interfaced by either Modbus or OPC(OLE for Process Control) to DCS .The trip signals from MCMS system was hardwired signals to ESD, since these are very critical signals for machine shut down.
In order to implement the data measurement, storage, and actuation, communication paths must be set up between the sensors, actuators, processor, and storage. The communication paths use communication standards such at HTTP and Zigbee and custom protocols such as the protocol between the Gateway and Sensor Modules. The primary goal of these protocols is reliable communication. Each protocol uses acknowledgements to ensure the validity of the data. Using these protocols approximately 3.3KBytes are sent from the Sensor nodes to the Gateway per hour and approximately 1.3KBytes are sent from the Gateway and the Sensor nodes. This is a low date rate system designed to save power. Although the system network usually functions well there are noise levels with
Communication has been a real asset to humankind by having the capacity to exchange data starting with one then onto the next. While numerous diverse structures exist, for example, gesture-based communication, talking, and non-verbal communication, it is telecom that has changed the world all through the last hundred or more years. The information transfers framework has three separate things with a particular end goal to transmit what will exhibited. Person begin by the source or transmitter, which is then put into a medium or correspondence line, and ultimately there is a sink, or beneficiary that the data is yielded
Assuming perfection (no busy-signals, no customer-abandons), a Customer-Svc Rep can handle (8 hrs) ÷ (130.65 sec) = 220.4 calls/day, or 206.6 calls/day with a 30-min break. A Data-Entry Operator can handle (8 hrs) ÷ (37.5 sec) = 768 calls/day, or 720 calls/day with a 30-min break.
The conceptual framework for the deployed system is given bellow. The framework contains one Coordinator which is connected to the control station computer through USB cable, four routers and three sensor devices. Data packets from the sensor device are transmitted to the coordinator via multi-hop routing.
A convex lens ( f = 20.0 cm) is placed 10.0 cm in front of a plane mirror. A matchstick is placed 25.0 cm in front of the lens as shown. (a) If you look through the lens toward the mirror, where will you see the image of the matchstick? (b) Is the image real or virtual? Explain. (c)
The inception of Optical Distortion Inc (ODI) started with a discovery in 1962 by Robert Garrison who noticed that chickens with limited visibility were considerably more economical to farm. These chickens had lower mortality due to reduced cannibalization and were more tractable.

In this digital age, we rely on technology for all our daily needs. So this article FBI Hunts SF Bay Area Fiber-Optic Cable Cutters written by Richard Adhikari, explains to us how attackers are able to cut fiber optic cables without a motive, which affects many parts of San Francisco. Also, disrupts cable companies. In this article he wants us getting involved to prevent these cuttings from happening around the United States, what is being done to prevent it from happening, and what is the impact of the cables being cut.
Recently, oil companies have increased their search for oil in water deeper than 1,500 feet, which is classified as "deep water." While that is where the companies hope to find the largest untapped oil reserves, seeking out and extracting oil there presents unique challenges. For one thing, platforms in deep water cannot sit on legs connected to the sea floor the way they can in shallower areas, so other methods must be used to protect them from strong currents.
i. These vehicles could be used to collect data for climate research, ocean exploration, offshore oil exploration and production and even surveillance of pipelines and telecommunications.
2. There are a number of problems facing Sof-Optics (detailed below). The most severe problems
For wireless underwater communication, there are several means such as radio waves, optical waves and acoustics.
Advancements in the information technology sector have brought many benefits to the people all around the world. Today with computer networking, we can chat, speak and see each other over a long distance. Data communication refers to the transmission of the digital signals over a communication channel between the transmitter and receiver computers. Communication is possible only with wired and wireless connectivity of the computers with each other.
