Unfortunately, many people find themselves as victims of bygone eras. People who have experienced traumatic events often exhibit symptoms of mental damaged, long after the catalyst is removed. Therefore, many of the victims find solace in differing coping mechanisms. Others drink themselves to oblivion, some gamble their fortunes away and a select few lose a desire to communicate.

‘Boulle’, a form of marquetry, was historically an Italian process that came to prominence when it was ‘perfected’ by the French artist Andre-Charles Boulle (1642-1732). Boulle’s mastery of the craft ultimately caused the technique to be named for him. Boulle was a member of the ébénistes (the ‘royal cabinetmakers’), who were responsible for veneered and marquetried case furniture, cabinets and commodes (one of the popular new types of furniture introduced during the eighteenth century. I was well positioned to execute the duties as Maintenance Control Safe for Flight Chief through two arduous detachments and work up cycles. I surpassed all expectations up and down my chain of command and was awarded appropriately for my leadership actions. I thrive on the opportunities to lead while providing mentorship and guidance to Sailors and Marines alike. My record of accomplishments as a professional, leader, manager and mentor exemplifies the traits required and will ensure my success if selected.
