Book Report Have you ever wondered what books do when they are closed? Do the characters just stay there or are the characters actually living in the book and you just don’t know it? In the book Off the Pages by Samantha Van Leer and Jodi Picoult they show you characters that are in a fairy tale that are alive and the human that reads the book knows about it. The characters communicate with each other by talking through the pages of the book. The book is of multiple characters that switch points of view in the story. They go back and forth from the real world and the fairy tale. The book pulls in lots of real world situations and what it would be like to be pulled into the situations. I believe that this book is different than any other book because they have situations in it that no other …show more content…
Delilah and Oliver meet and fall in love but the bad thing is that he is suck inside the book. They try many things to get him out. Oliver tries jumping out and even writing himself out of the book but none of them work. Oliver and Delilah both decided that they would have to find someone to take to place of Oliver. This is where Edgar comes into the story. He wants get out of the normal world and into a world that he doesn’t have to go to school, work, or even do any chores. The two people switch. Everything goes right for a while but then things turn around. The princess wants to get out of the fairy tale too so she found someone who did not want to be in a fairy tale and loved the real world and her life. This situation make Delilah and Oliver mad because they don’t want anyone else to conflict with what is going on between them, plus the princess thinks she’s in love with Oliver. The plot is interesting because the characters are jumbled up between stories and has an interesting way writing style used by the

After reading 80 pages of, “Skud,” by Dennis Foon, I felt motivated by the actions and determination shown by the main characters of the story, especially Andy. In the book, all the characters had a goal or objective and worked hard to reach that goal. Although most people would not advise someone to center their life around one certain thing, I think that when one finds a purpose or objective in life they should always do their best to reach this goal regardless of what others say or thinks of it. In the book, Andy dream was to become a popular actor.Although the possibility of getting cast is low and although he was hurt and unwell, Andy still went to the audition because of that small possibility. After reading about this, I felt determined and motivated by actions like this.
Unwind is a book filled with three main characters who are escaping their “fate” of being unwound. Unwinding is a process in which every part of a child between the ages thirteen to eighteen is removed and donated to others in need of a healthy limb or organ. Connor is one of the main characters, he found out that he was going to be unwound because he found a bill his parent’s paid to go to the Bahamas, without him. He decides to rebel against his destiny and runs away from home, encountering some other characters and conflicts along the way.
I really liked this book. I am really glad I read this book because I am interested in the situation between the rebels and the child soldiers. I really like the way the author wrote his book. It was sad, but there were also really happy parts. The way the author put his words together made reading the book really easy to read. For example, “ On the morning that we left for Mattru Jong, we loaded our backpacks with notebooks old lyrics we were working on, and stuffed our pockets with cassettes of rap albums.” The story is very believable. The book was easily understood as well. There were some words that he used in the book that were confusing because some of the words he uses are different from what we are used to. For example in the book, the word for sneakers is crapes. He also calls a porch, a
I discovered that the title of the book is roused by Mark Twain who once stated, "On the off chance that you begin the day by eating a frog you will have the fulfillment of realizing this was presumably the most exceedingly terrible thing you needed to do that day". I take the frog to speak to the most exceedingly awful or most troublesome errand or occupation that you need to do. On the off chance that you begin the free day completing that, at that point it will be finished and the most exceedingly bad is past, and you can proceed onward to a more profitable day.
There are four a cappella groups on the Barden college campus. They are the Bellas, the BU Harmonics, the High Notes, and the Treblemakers; however, the Bellas and the Treblemakers are the main rivals. In the beginning of the movie auditions are held for all four clubs and they choose the members that they would like to add into their groups. Aubrey was unsure about the new members of the Bellas and she did not think the girls had what it took to make it to nationals. Chloe, however, believed that their group would do fine in the competitions. A few days after the new members are initiated, there is a competition between the four clubs called the Riff-Off. With the addition of my character to the story, the Barden Bellas learn the rules of the Riff-Off, winning the competition and gaining confidence for the upcoming competitions. With their victory, the falling action changes, and the Bellas compete throughout the entire competition.

Flipped by Wendelin Draanen was about a boy named Bryce who didn't want anything to do with his new neighbor, Julianna. Julianna was the complete opposite, she loved Bryce. There was a sycamore tree by Juli and Bryce’s bus stop. Juli loved sitting up in the tree until the new homeowners decided to cut it down. She was forced to move but because she didn't she made the cover of the newspaper. For Julianna’s science fair project she hatched chicken eggs and afterward she raised them and they produced eggs in her backyard. She was making a profit off of them from her neighbors but she also decided to give them to Bryce’s family, the Loski family for free. But, the Loskis were secretly throwing them away until Julianna found out when Bryce took the trash out.
And also when I read about the goblins where they are lived. Also, when the Princess lost herself to their house and she meet her great grandmother at the secret part of their house. And her grandmother is a mysterious in the story because the people on their house didn’t know about the queens at the top of the house, only the Princess. I like also when the Princess and Curdie meets and he saved the Princess from the goblin. And it becomes interesting with me because in that story shows the good relationships of father to daughter, nanny to Princess, grandmother to her grand-daughter, and also to her friends. And also the moral lesson that we can adopt and we can apply to our daily lives. It becomes interesting with me that their house has a secret part, and only the Princess are the one who went there and that place was his grandmothers room. And her grandmother lived only by eating the pigeons egg. I also like in the story is when the Princess do his promises, she did not break

I was on my way back from a mission, when I was then encountered by a survivor. He proceeded in telling me that there was cultist groups living outside of the infected filled quarantined city of Harran have successfully controlled the virus. With the tower low on antizen and Camden’s efforts to produce a cure still unsuccessful, I decided to go investigate the supposed immunity. I headed out to the countryside, where I discovered that many of the survivors out there have converted to a religious cult called the Children of the Sun, who worship the Mother which is apparently the source of their immunity to the virus. In order to earn the cult's trust and learn more about the immunity, I decide to assist the survivors. Eventually, one of the Faceless, the high-ranking members of the cult, approached me and privately admits that their immunity is gained through a special elixir they had discovered, but like Antizin, it only suppresses the infection and does not fully cure it. The Faceless also reveal that they are working on a permanent cure, and promise that
At present I am applying out of cycle from my graduation year. Immediately after graduation from medical school, I enrolled at Tulane University School of Medicine to pursue a Master’s in Clinical Research where I completed a 6 month research clerkship in trauma and critical care. Additionally, I have remained active in the clinical setting, completing a 3 month outpatient family medicine clerkship and a 3 month primary care and medicine clerkship. My drive to become a physician has seen many hills and valleys, but I am hardworking and determined to succeed as a resident physician. Particularly, I hope to have an overall medical residency education, rather than just focus on one area; this will allow me to take care of an entire family as they grow, from caring for a mother throughout her pregnancy, to performing minor clinical procedures, delivering babies, and finally to caring for an aging grandparent mainly in a medically underserved community.
In my opinion I think marijuana should be legalized across the country because it does benefit a lot of people with autoimmune problems, anything that weakens the immune system, cancer, M.S., and more. Doctor’s believe that the prohibition of marijuana causes the public more harm than good. Those are some of the pros. Some of the cons of legalizing marijuana is it has an addictive nature, it can alter a user 's perception, is popularly known as a gateway drug, does damage to the brain, and more.
ood Friday ’15: the day on the Liturgical Calendar, that commemorates the day of Christ’s death on the cross. All Ryanites, regardless of their age, the name or type of their school, the Diocese or Archdiocese that the school in question a part of (if applicable), or other distinguishable characteristics, never attends school on Good Friday, because that day is a very special one for anyone who called himself or herself a Christian. It is also customary for one to either attend school mass during the Holy Week, or have a half day dismissal on the day before it, Holy Thursday. The non-Ryanites may not understand this reasoning on the part of the schools, but the Ryanites could care less about the misunderstandings from the non-Ryanites.
Plato’s Republic, a dialogue known and studied by many for its deep teachings in knowledge and education. Consequently, education was something Plato would often talk about, it played a large role in the Allegory of the Cave and can be used as a topic of discussion in schools. Moreover, the allegory of the cave is known for a depiction of men trapped in a cave, unable to escape. Whilst the Analogy of the Sun and Analogy of the Divided Line are not as widely known, they still serve as excellent analogies for the Allegory of the Cave. They can further explain the importance of the good, whilst adding how far the mind and body’s capabilities may further.
