Revision Memo
The difference between the February and 1917 October Revolution is that Russian revolution is brought communism to Russia and Revolution and its empire in 1917 actually accord in two stages . October in that year that government was over thrown by an extreme socialist party that later became the communist party . In document 1 there is a long term cause and a short term cause and also a medium term cause in the case . The most important thing you need to know about Russia is that it was overwhelming and agricultural country with a overwhelming peasant population for all it's century way before the 19th century . All political power was
On March 4th, 1776 Washington moved his army to Dorchester heights because it overlooked Boston. He placed his cannons and troops on Nook's Hill, which overlooked General William Howe's army. As the general awoke the next morning, he saw how the patriots were positioned and decided to retreat from Boston to Canada. This was significant because it forced a large British army out of Boston. This affected the colonists because now the place were the rebellion started was now in the hands of the Patriots.
In the early 1770s, Many Americans continued to rebel against British strict enforcements of their policies. The presence of the army did not make it any better, either. Many of the colonists were talking about The Boston Tea Party taxes that would forever shape and change America. Many of the newspapers, pamphlets and public coffee shops were the news media. Early 1773 was the new act, The Tea Act, which caused more ruckuses. The East India Company needed to make money although they were the only company selling the tea in the colonies (7).
Prior to the Revolution Boston had a lot of bad things happen to it.Many colonist were very upset and mad. Many of the people was protesting.
The Boston tea party, was a pivotal point in American history. Nine artisan and shopkeepers gathered together to protest the unfairness of the stamp act started on may 16, 1773 . The nine were referred as the loyal nine, and later the Sons of liberty.
It was on December 1773 when American Soldiers dressed up as Mohawk Indians and dumped 342 chests of tea into the harbor, however there were many events that led up to this event, known as the Boston Tea Party. The Boston Tea Party caused an uproar among the colonists of Boston directed at the English soldiers, and this was one of the primary causes of the American Revolution. There was a series of laws and acts passed in hopes to threaten the colonists and their chance at a self-government. The Proclamation of 1763 was passed by King George, and it blocked American travelers from traveling west of the Appalachian Mountains.(Yanak). In 1764, the Sugar Act was passed that put a tax on sugar and molasses. The colonists would smuggle the goods
The American Revolution changed the american society through social, political, and economic effects from the time period of 1775 to 1800.
The Boston tea party took place on December 16, 1773, when a protest against tea taxation became a law; the protesters threw many chests of teas into the Boston harbor. And started drinking smuggles tea. That’s when the Boston tea party took place in us history.
The Boston Tea Party is an idea that most people have heard about. It was indeed the first significant act of rebellion in the Revolutionary war era. However, freedom always comes with a price, and the colonists knew because of their uprising that they would be sure to pay it. As Martin Luther King Jr. said, “Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor, it must be demanded by the oppressed.” That is exactly what the colonists knew they must do.
Rights movements are a big part of your history. Without them, our society would be totally different. Without Cesar Chavez, there would still be farm workers working unfairly in the fields. Without Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King, Malcolm X, the NCAA and many more, we would still be segregating busses, schools and public restaurants. Rights Movements are life changing events that happen like protests, boycotting and riots. The most famous riot is the Boston Tea Party. This was when patriots from Boston dumped tea into the Boston harbor to protest the tax on tea.
During the Revolutionary era, the general public, or the working class, used violence to show their displeasure towards the financial wealth the elites had accumulated. Class resentment was as big of an issue during the Revolutionary period as it is today in the modern-era. One of the most notable was the attacks on theaters during the 18th century. Although there was an underlying issue of religion that came into play, there was also the fact that while the population starved, elites were able to frequent “large houses, [with] silver plate, fine furniture and good wine.” [pg 85] Countryman states that, “most disliked the theaters because of the symbolization – glittering ostentation and callous unconcern in time of distress” and when looking at the factors that facilitated the gap between the “haves” and the “have nots,” it should not be surprising that the conflict lead to violence and
In 1917, in the midst of the Great War, Russia faced one of the biggest political shifts that the Tsarist-ruled country had ever known-the Bolshevik Revolution. There are two significant time frames associated with the Bolshevik Revolution. In the February revolution Tsar Nicholas II abdicated his throne and a Provisional Government took control. In the October revolution the Bolsheviks took power by overthrowing the Provisional Government. How did the October revolution become a reality? What factors facilitated the Bolshevik Revolution of October 1917? Two important factors were the July event at Taurida Palace, and the Kornilov Affair. Richard Pipes describes in detail how Lenin influenced the Bolshevik party throughout the
With the October revolution in 1917, Lenin managed to execute a successful coup d’état against the provisional government of Russia and with the death of the constituent assembly early 1918; Lenin and his Bolsheviks had finally control over Russia. However this was just the beginning of various problems he would be facing. This raised the debate on whether Lenin could deal with these problems or not. Many of the quarrels originated from the Tsar’s regime and the provisional government such as Russia’s participation in WW1 as well as economic underdevelopment. Immediate problems such as the raging civil war existed as
The reason I chose the American Revolution as my topic was mainly because to me I thought it was very relevant subject to speak upon and not many of us have knowledge of how we even became the United States of America. Basically the American Revolution was one of many steps taken to develop our democracy type of government that we do have today. Also it tells about how the original thirteen broke away from the British harsh government taxes. To be honest I chose this topic simply because it was and I’ve done a report on this back in grade school. These are the causes that led up to the war (not the signing because its already prior knowledge)
The Russian Revolutions of 1917 There were two revolutions that occurred in Russia in 1917. The first one, in February, overthrew the Russian monarchy. The second one, in October, created the world’s first Communist state. The Russian revolutions of 1917 involved a series of uprisings by workers and peasants throughout the country and by soldiers, who were predominantly of peasant origin, in the Russian army.
In 1905, the social and economic tensions building up within Russia boiled over into Revolution. It was described by Lenin as the “Great Dress Rehearsal” for the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 and may give us clues as to why the 1917 revolution started. The suggestion that Tsar Nicholas II and his actions were to blame for this revolution is debatable and there are many factors such as the repressive Tsarist system, the growth of opposition from the time of Alexander II and the defeat in the war with Japan to consider. These events can be separated into short and long term effects on the revolution. Bloody Sunday and defeat to Japan would be short term effects whereas the
