Comments/Observations: When ranking the sketches both the observation based and the design based, the subject would consider two at a time, deciding which one was of higher quality. This was the effort made in order to rank the sketches in to appropriate positions. When ranking the quality the subject considered many aspects such as, the over all proportion and form of the sketches and their individual parts. The rendering of the sketch was considered more important than the shadow while pencil thickness was also considered. When considering the design based sketches, the over all design was first considered to give the sketch an initial place before deeming those of higher quality based on the sketching techniques considered for the observation …show more content…
The subject ranked these sketches based on their first impression and the level of effort present in the sketches using the same technique as the last subject, considering two at a time. They also considered the proportions, the level of symmetry and perspective. The sketching technique used was also noted in which the sketches of higher quality appeared to break down the geometry of the shape prior to attempting an overall sketch. When considering the design based sketched the level of quality first depended on the adherence to the brief before further criteria were considered which included the level of sketching effort present. It was observed that the higher quality and lower quality sketches were easily ranked, while there was a struggle experienced when ranking …show more content…
When ranking the observation sketches this subject had clear opinions as to what to deem the quality of the sketches on. These measures included, scale and proportion, the fluidity of the sketch, the shadow and shade, the line types and also the level of detail present. When considering the design based sketches, the overall creativity in adherence to the brief was first considered. Once the sketches all had an initial ranking further considerations were taken into account on the quality of the sketch, which influenced the final ranking deeming the sketches of appropriate
Creating Objects and Scenes: this task has done through defining three process. Start with modeling process, which used specific techniques to determine the desired shapes of objects. Those techniques include polygons technique, rectangular key (splines) technique ...etc. [5]
Jonathan Edwards read a 6 hour long sermon talking about God’s wrath. Edwards is trying to emphasize how powerful God is and that people should fear him. The people listening to the sermon started to get emotional and frightened. They wanted to worship God and not provoke him in any way. Edwards tried to help people and give them advice on how not to go to Hell. People were fearful of the devil and did not want to feel the fiery gates of Hell. Edwards uses different types of language devices to help get his point across.
-Evaluate the effectiveness of your choice of elements (I'm guessing this means techniques, such as camera shots and angles, symbolism, colour symbolism, juxtaposition and colloquial language) and the impact it has on the audience.

Leonardo Drew's artwork is brilliant and very original. He uses lines perfectly to dictate the flow of the peices he is working on. This causes his artwork to not at first have meaning but the longer you observe the more the art takes on different ideas. He also use shapes very efectivly with peices of wood and debris. From the tiny slivers of particle board to gigantic branches every peice is important to the overall work. He uses these peices to create an overall shape based off of an image or idea. His artwork takes up entire gallarys with large fences and rusted metal objects.
Our beliefs, time, money, and actions are all being fought over with design as the arsenal. The graphic designer learns how to participate in this fight through education, intuition, creativity, and technical skills. Though helpful, a formal education in design is not what is meant here. The education needed is more about understanding the previously mentioned rules we are working with. Intuition is required in order to know when it is appropriate to adjust or disregard these rules. Creativity is needed because redundancy will not break through the wall into the internal world. Technical skills are essential because poor craft reduces credibility. This idea of the world as an arena is a reoccurring theme in The Cheese Monkeys, and the importance of education, intuition, creativity, and technical skills have been further reinforced to us through the grading process and classroom discussions in Graphic Design

A writer gets his or her ideas from multiple places, but I believe the ideas come mostly from personal experiences. I believe this because Saunders mentioned that when he was younger he would always mimic people that would lead to the invention of fictional characters. As humans, we always hear different sounds and voices and put it to different things whether we are a writer or if we just dream of it in our sleep. “The criteria is basically ear-driven” (Saunders). From life experiences and listening to his surrounding Saunders had the ability to create new characters from things that he already knew.
The Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh is consistent of his typical artwork. He uses the lines free and loose making it an expression of his contour lines. The spacing between the stars and the curving contours making it a dot to dot effect. Van Gogh’s, The Starry Night” portrays his personal emotion. He writes to his brother about his painting almost as if he would be confused himself about the painting. The village is dark but at the same time it is peaceful compared to the dramatic sky life. In Sol Le Witts, Wall Drawing it uses an ordered form and symmetrical form called classical lines. The line Sol Le Witts uses is considered a connection between two separate points. Although

Two professional colleagues, Mary and Jerry, are having a mock debate about the reporting of ethical violations. On the one hand, Mary thinks that unethical conduct should be reported to avoid in the future. On the other hand, Jerry says the reporting is not worth the effort because the one who reported the unethical behavior could be more harmed that the reported person, because of the tattling effect. This paper provides five reasons why it may be and may be not acceptable to report possible ethical violations based on the conversation of two colleagues and discusses the individual opinion of the author about addressing ethical violations.
