The change project involves the implementation of post-discharge calls to monitor patients, hence prevent readmissions. Thus, the hospital needs resources that include personnel, equipment, technology, and travel in some instances. Additionally, Sullivan (2012) argues that employee motivation and continual development helps improve the job performance. As such, the hospital will be required to put additional resources for the purposes of employee motivation and education.
Telephone calls will require the installation of an additional four telephone lines in the hospital, specifically for the follow-up calls. The hospital will incur the purchase cost of $500 for the phones. The installation cost will amount to $100. The maintenance and the subscription fees for the phones will be about $300 per year. Thus, the hospital will incur a capital budget of $600 for the telephone lines, acquisition, and $300 operating budget for the telephones.
The change involves keeping in touch with discharge patients through telephone calls. As such, the hospital will need to employ additional staff, in the form of nurses, who will supplement the existing body nurses in assessing the patients to be put on the follow-up program and making the calls. In this area, the hospital will need to add an additional two nurses. These will reinforce the existing workforce, who

Thus, a seminar to educate the nurses on phone etiquette, the questions to ask and the kind of information to guide on will be held. This exercise will cost the hospital about $1000, for a week’s education of the nurses at the hospital premises. The change entails the introduction of tasks that the nurses were not accustomed to, which requires the enrichment of their knowledge (Sullivan,
Nurse practitioners are advanced practice registered nurses who have received special courses and training. They usually work closely with doctors and can perform many high-level primary care tasks. They often specialize in specific types of practice such as pediatrics, psychiatry, or obstetrics. Some establish private practices; however, most work in doctors' offices, hospitals, or neighborhood health centers. Their duties often include taking detailed medical histories and performing complete physical exams, providing diagnoses and recommending treatment plans, treating common medical conditions, illnesses, and injuries, prescribing limited medications, and counseling patients and families. They also care
The health care industry continues to be challenged by daily patient turnover due to the number of admissions, transfers, and discharges (Spader, 2008). The increase in number of admissions, in turn, puts a high demand on nurses in keeping up with the pace resulting in nurse frustration and dissatisfaction. According to Lane (2009), a thorough and comprehensive admission process is critical in providing quality patient care. Completing the admission process in a timely, efficient, and comprehensive manner has
The medical field has to be ran by the utmost wonderful nurses. Nurse Practitioners (NP) are Advanced Practice Registered Nurses who provide care to patients throughout the lifespan, all the way from premature newborns to the elderly. Physician Assistants (PA) practice medicine on a team under the supervision of physicians and surgeons. A nurse practitioner has a more rewarding career then a physician assistant because of the education requirements, commission, job abilities, training and advancements in career.
As the school year comes to an end, many high school careers with it, there's a lot of decisions that seniors have to think about. In order to better prepare themselves for life, many of the students and Gary High School have been doing research on both jobs and education. There are many things to consider when preparing for the future such as what to study during college and for the rest of your life. One particular student says that she would like to be a nurse, but she would have to endure many years of schooling and a rather large amount of clinical hours. This research paper outlines everything that would have to be done in order to secure someone's future as a registered nurse.
Advanced Practice Nurses play an important role as innovators who can help shape school policies across the nation. APNs need to know how the school system works so they can contribute in formulating school policies aimed at keeping school children physically active. APNs need to collaborate with parents, school officials and the community to direct activities that have the greatest positive impact on school-aged

Allowing nurses to conquest more duties could help to save billions of dollars in medical care costs, which is why it’s appropriate for advanced practice nurses to complete more care on patients. Advanced practice nurses should complete care on patients at the furthest level of knowledge and training that the nurse has completed, then pass the rest of care onto the physician, that has completed further knowledge and training on the subject of matter. Different types of advanced-practice nurses, consist of nurse practitioners, nurse anesthetists, and nurse midwives. Due to a variety of different advanced-practice nurses, specialty nurses could help lower the cost of medical care by nurses completing
The main role of nurse practitioner is prevention disease. A good NP can help patients find disease in early stage. “Primary care nurse practitioners are on the "front line" for identifying and potentially preventing occupational illnesses and injuries. At the same time, this survey indicates that these health care providers are not provided the optimal training to identify, treat, or prevent this morbidity; they may be in the trenches, but they have not been supplied with enough ammunition. We believe that if primary care practitioners, including nurse practitioners, have the responsibility for diagnosing and managing occupational health problems, health care policymakers and educators have the duty to guarantee the training and resources needed to fulfill their duty.” (Lipscomb, J.
Although most people think they can get away with picking an easy topic for their senior projects it turns out to be a little more complex than that. Growing up my ideas and passions would always seem to be changing but when I finally became set in my ways at least in knowing what I would like to pursue the Nursing Program was up to par. I chose to do mine on Nursing in the ED (emergency department) because this is a field I would love to go into so I can be of service to those in need of any medical care, to always have a stable job to rely on, and further more to be able to excel in the field of medicine. I would love to be one of the people on call to respond to the needs of another individual in their time of need. Anyone could only

Nursing is a profession within the health care field that focuses care on not only individual patients, but also their family and community too. As a nurse, our goal is to attain, maintain, or recover patients to optimal health and quality of life holistically. Nurses also differentiate themselves in from other health care providers because of how they approach their patient care, training, and scope of practice. These are just a few of the reasons that I have decided to make nursing my major. There are many different specialisms with differing levels of authority and responsibility that are available with a nursing major, many of which can be obtained with a two-year degree.
The national league for nurses defines critical thinking in the nursing process as “a discipline specific, reflective reasoning process that guides a nurse in generating, implementing, and evaluating approaches for dealing with client care and professional concerns” (Kozier, 2008). This definition is imperative to help a nursing student learn how to think in terms of nursing care. Nursing students must achieve a comprehensive understanding of critical thinking in order to understand the nursing process. The purpose for this paper is for nursing students to learn how to use the nursing process, how to properly document their findings and assessments, and correctly implement APA formatting in a formal paper.
