Nuclear energy is the energy kept inside of an atom. This energy can be released by going through the process of fission or fusion. Fission is the separation of considerably large atoms into smaller ones. Fusion is the opposite of fission; it is the combining of small atoms into a large one. We receive nuclear energy every day by using fission in nuclear power plants across the world.
SOCIETY USING NEW TECHNOLOGY New technology is constantly invented and more people are using it. In the realm of atomic science, we are innovating easier, more efficient ways to produce energy. These new inventions produce fast, air pollutant free energy in ways that change the way we think of an atom. Nuclear plants are very expensive to start-up. Building a nuclear power plant can cost millions to billions of dollars. Although it may cost a lot to build, maintaining a plant is inexpensive because of the low cost of elements and chemicals. Companies are willing to make the investment in an expensive starting price to create an eco-friendly source of energy. The government gives huge amounts of money to help supply companies with necessary loans.

This nuclear waste is left in safe containers in the ground by scientists to slowly become stable over thousands of years. These substances are so radioactive they must be put very deep in the ground so no one will receive radiation poisoning. As stated before, scientist must constantly innovate new ways to store these chemicals. To pay for the cost of storing, transporting and disposing these wastes in the United States a tenth of a cent per kilowatt-hour is added to electricity bills. When one nucleus decays 200,000,000 electron volts are produced, yet vary minimal amounts are collected. Making it possible to capture all the energy would end our need for fossil fuels. Maddy is currently suffering from Major Depressive Disorder 296.33(F33.2). Her symptoms portray a change from previous functioning. She experiences depressed mood most of the day. Throughout history, the source of energy that powers the world has advanced alongside technology. The power on which civilization thrives has to be in accordance to the demand at which it is required. As technology evolves, objects from which energy can be extracted can expanded exponentially. In the status quo, the United States is trying to limit the greenhouse gas emissions instead of just switching power sources which is the wrong direction they should be going in. The spent fuel rods and the other products produced by the nuclear fuel process are highly reactive. This waste must be stored in very safe and secure locations for tens of thousands of years, which is periods “longer than the history of most governments the world has seen” as the former Atomic Energy Commission put it (Carson). The uranium that is used in the reactors has a half life, that is long it takes for half the nuclei in the radioactive material to decay, of 10,000 years, while plutonium, another nuclear fuel, has a half life close to 25,000 (Carson). Some say that it is too much of a burden to place on future generations to be able to properly monitor and maintain waste dumps that will last 20 times the length of known civilization. In 1939, the discovery of nuclear fission unlocked the potential of an entirely different source of power. As the demands for energy increases, the United States needs to determine how it is going to meet the need. A range of options is needed for future generations and nuclear power is one suitable option. As with any option, it comes with its strengths and weaknesses. Presently, sixty-six percent of the United States energy comes from fossil fuel, while only nineteen percent comes from nuclear power; however, fickle oil prices are a sign that the era of abundant and cheap transportation fuel is ending. There is no chance of a runaway reaction that could lead to a meltdown. Nuclear fussion forms two hydrogen atoms together called dueterium and tritium. Some sientist have made exponential progress in fusion power. Nuclear fusion is made into fusion energy and fusion energy is used to make nuclear bombs throught the world. These nuclear bombs are then used in wars. Or in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.These were the first cities to ever see the power of nuclear weapons. Today if you go here you can still see what they call shadow people, which are shadows of where people were siting, standing, walking, working, and more. Basically when the bombs where dropped the people disintegrated but whatever they were doing at that time was left with that image in the ground or wall or even on streets or the outsides of buildings. Before our US Troops dropped the bombs on Hiroshima they dropped pamphlets warning Hiroshima about the bombing. In 1945, a man named Tsutomu Yamaguchi survived not only one but two bombs that had exploded near his location. He had been a little hurt from the blast because he had drug himself around after the first explosion and he drug himself all the way to his work and he did make it on time might I add in, and when he had made it to work that is when the second bomb had exploded and yet he still survived and ended up living from this unlike many people around

Nuclear energy has been successful in decreasing the pollution created by energy production.
