In the design, the topology used is a star topology. The computers in every office or classroom are linked to the central device known as the switch. The star topology leads to the expansion of the network without any disruption. This defines the use of a hub, a router or a switch to interconnect various computers together. All the workstations in this topology are connected with a connection of point-to-point to the central device. The data is first passed through the primary device before reaching the planned destination. Hub controls and manages the whole network. The hubs connect several nodes that are present in the star system. The hub acts as the signal booster (Elhakeem, 2010). The fault of one computer will not bring the impact …show more content…

The patch panel offers the network with the link spot between the equipment of the system and the ports where PCs are connected. Wireless access point can be located in the library. The WAP is used to give wireless accessibility to the internet through the router to where it’s needed. Router is a device for networking that sends packets of data between the networks of a computer. The packet of data is forwarded to routers of the networks that contain the internetwork until the packet is at the destination node. A router can be linked to several data lines from various systems. The router reads the address information in the packet to establish the ultimate destination when the data packet is in any data lines (Liu, 2012). Repeaters are devices for amplifying signals and retransmit at higher power on the area of an obstruction for the indication to cover longer detachments. They are used to in the transmission of structures to generate digital indicators distorted by the loss of the transmission. Hubs function as repeaters by transmitting messages to the related computers. The repeater does intellectual routing that can be acted upon by routers and bridges (Vachhani,
