The Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Educator, Nurse Informaticist, and Nurse Administrator have different educational background and training, thus they play a different role in the field of advance practice nursing but they have a common goal, and that is to ensure a safe and effective delivery of care to every patient, regardless of the type of health care setting. The difference is their roles lies in the fact that the Nurse Practitioner practices in the advanced clinical role while the Nurse Educator, Nurse Informaticist, and Nurse Administrator have the non-clinical roles. Joining a professional organization such as AANP and FLANP is the first step in making my voice heard on the issues. If these organizations have significant number of members, they will stronger in pushing the change. In addition to delivering the best care to my patients, using social media to create public awareness of what the NPs can do. Furthermore, be an active member in community like speaking in a health related seminars. This kind of exposure helps the NPs cause for change. Getting news programs to invite NPs to share their expertise on a major health issues is another way to gain public support thus leading to attracting the attention of the policymakers.
