At the end of the Middle Kingdom, the Hyksos people invaded Egypt. The Hyksos most likely migrated from Western Asia in Syria-Palestine, but have no clear origin where they are from. The Egyptians called these people hikau-khausut which means "ruler of the foreign countries”. The Hyksos were technologically advanced and because of that they had a strong military. The Egyptians had been isolated from the growing and progressing world by the deserts which surround the country. Because of this isolation, the Egyptians were unprepared for any attack and had a weaker military force. Instead of protecting themself they relied on their natural borders to shelter them from invasion. When the Hyksos invaded Egypt, they left a lasting impact on Egypt’s lifestyle by introducing the Egyptians to different trade methods, diversifying their economy, and exposed exposing them to new military techniques.

Civil disobedience is the refusal to comply with certain laws. Antigone by Sophocles has a majority of examples of civil disobedience. A few examples that stand out is when Creon does not believe Polyneices deserves a proper burial, but Antigone believes that is human right to have one. Another example is when everyone in Thebes believes that what Antigone has done is not wrong and stand by her. One last example of civil disobedience is when Antigone knows it is against the law to bury her brother, but she knows and does the right thing for her brother. Civil disobedience is displayed all over the country. There are many examples of civil disobedience throughout history, for example, when Rosa Parks refused to sit in the color section of the bus. Another example is when Saudi Arabia women believe it was their right to drive because men can, therefore why can’t they. One last example, the Palestinian women and children wanted to leave because of the way they were treated because of their religion. Civil disobedience is an important role in a majority of peoples lives. The examples of civil disobedience in Antigone and the examples in the articles are similar because Antigone and the articles have one common goal they believe and stand for what is right and just.

A seigneur's duties differ from a landlord because a seigneur is selected by the French king. Landlords work for their own living. Since all the land in New France was owned by the king, the seigneurs had to swear obedience to him. Landlords are self-hired, therefore have a little more freedom in their job, although they have to obey the law. The French king commanded his seigneurs to protect the land of the seigneury. Landlords, on the other hand, have to do maintenance, cleaning, and things any rental process requires. A seigneur needs to build a manor house in the seigneury. A landlord usually lives reasonably close to the rental property, but don’t need to build a manor house. Seigneurs were ordered to annually report the population, land
Sitting at a traffic light on Upper State Street, I could see several miles down to the harbor and pier on the ocean. It was a warm evening, nearly seven, as I snapped The Eagles, Greatest Hits into the deck and surveyed the landscape. The main thoroughfare dissected the sleepy town of seventy-four thousand, into halves, to the North, the tabletop bluff known as the Mesa, across the valley, the rolling hills of the Riviera and beyond that, the ultra-exclusive Montecito, boasting big-name residents like Jackson, Reagan and Konstantinos, to name a few.
The yards are kept and I see an elderly couple outside doing yard work and raking leaves. I observe one neighbor hanging Christmas lights from the roof. The neighborhood has a mix of ethnicity. I see Hispanic, Caucasian and African populations. This family is Lutheran and attends a church a few blocks away. There is also a nearby Catholic church. The local hospital is about 1 mile away and I passed it on my way to their home. There are many doctors' offices and dental offices near the hospital. Many yards still have election signs still in the yards. There are not any billboards visible displaying any media. I do see some newspapers in driveways. This neighborhood has close access to the highway. The city of Chicago is about a forty five minute drive. The father says he takes the train to commute to the city for work in the city. He is a machine operator for a manufacturing plant in the city.
