When Tesla was a young lad he was always thinking about the future as shown by Ronald H. Bailey, ‘“ Someday I’ll harness that power,”’ said Tesla when he saw a picture of Niagara Falls as a boy” (Bailey 6). Nikola Tesla was a brilliant innovative man from the time he was a boy, he was already thinking of his future as well as future technology. He thought of things even as a boy that had not been dreamed possible and are still functioning to this day. Nikola Tesla was an important and innovative figure in American history because he embodied our future, was passionate about his work and created systems that no one ever thought possible, some of which are favored to this very day.

Nikola Tesla is also known for: The Tesla coil, his revolutions in the AC current system, harnessing the power of Niagara Falls, lighting all the lights for the Chicago world fair in 1893 and several other contributions to science, some of them even in the field of medical engineering, which helped lead to the development of NMRI. Tesla did several things over his life time. Tesla revolutionized the transfer of power, he is responsible for the invention of the radio, he created the Tesla coil and Tesla also invested time in studying the possibility of the wireless transfer of power, in addition to several other accomplishments. Over the course of his life time he was granted over 110 patents. In fact, in “Nikola Tesla”, the author(s) states, “satellite dishes, cell phones, and Wi-Fi connections wouldn’t have surprised Nikola Tesla […] our wireless world is only half of what he imagined” (Cox; Beth; Matthews). This shows that he saw the possibilities of the future and suggest the brilliance of what he did and what he created. Although he was eccentric several of Tesla’s personality traits that led him to success can and should be practiced in everyday life, Nikola Tesla rarely gave up, and he worked hard and stuck it through to the very end, always believing the endless possibilities in the world around him. He also was very passionate and chose a career that he enjoyed, and was interested in. Nikola Tesla should be looked up to because he followed his dreams against all odds and embodied true American spirt; he was dedicated to what he did and he changed the world for the better, he never stopped
