Dream of a Lifetime Going to the NBA
As I walk onto the court my heart is pumping faster than I can count, because my team is playing the final game in the state tournament for the 1A-D11 championship title. I'm so excited I get to experience what i've been waiting for my whole life. My coach tells me I’m starting, and I’m nervous that we will lose the championship that we’ve worked eight years for. The career I would most like to pursue is playing in the NBA, because this dream career influences me to get good grades, spend time in the gym, and stay out of trouble. I have always dreamed about playing in the NBA since the first time I ever picked up a basketball. I don’t like school very much, but I need to do well to make it in the big leagues.

If don’t get grades I won’t make it anywhere in life except working at Mcdonald’s. Grades are one of the most important things to me because grades influence the path i will follow the rest of my life. Last year I had bad grades and it cost me my summer, and almost another year in eighth grade, now grades are very important to me.
The biggest step of all is time, I need to spend a lot of time in the gym to become what I want. In order to even be at a high skill level I have to work hard in the gym doing basketball drills. Also I would want to go to basketball camps so I can learn how to do new things, and learn new moves. Going to basketball camps during the summer takes up a lot of time when I could be doing things with my friends. Wanting to be a very skilled basketball player takes a lot of commitment and time.
In order to make it far in basketball I have to stay out of trouble and keep my record clean. Without a clean record it would make getting a scholarship a whole lot harder. I wouldn’t be good for colleges if I had a bad record. Colleges want people who know what their doing. In order to have a good career I have to stay out of trouble, and be a good kid so I can have fun later on. I don’t want to mess my career up getting in trouble over something I know I shouldn’t
When I was growing up, my parents expected me to do great in school and they taught me that getting a good education was your ticket to living a nice and successful life and career, and in order to do well in school I would have to study and get good grades. I actually enjoyed school for the most part. I was that kind of person that actually studied and did homework to the best of my ability. Getting a good education is very important to get a successful career and life.
I must admit between trying to get recruited by a college for basketball and applying for colleges just in case my basketball dream does not work out, has been a real hassle. Throughout the following processes the hope for acceptance or a basketball scholarship offer has been dwindling away. My confidence in myself and my abilities are almost non-existent. With the help of my family I plan on
It all started when I was in 7th grade, preparing for my first basketball tryouts. I had nothing but confidence in myself that making the team would be a walk in the park. During the tryouts, everything seemed to be going great, considering how the coaches were reacting to my performance. However, the following day after the tryouts were over, I was told that I, sadly, was rejected. The only reason I could think of why this had happened, was simply not getting enough practice under my belt. It is easy for a person to think about the outcome, while not having enough experience in the matter, in this case basketball.
School is the most important to me. I try so hard to keep up on my grades and because I don’t want to disappoint my parents or if my future jobs or my kids look back on it and I will hopefully be a role model and they follow my steps and say I want to be like her. My parents push me to get good grades. My parents are pretty strict but not in a way that you are probably thinking. If I asked to go out with friends or to like a football game or basketball they asked me if I have my stuff done and they will check my grades and wouldn’t be able to unless I had good grades. I might have been so

Student athletes choose careers that are sport-related, remaining in their identity of athletes. Athletes who consider only the sport-related careers, and no other careers exhibit identity foreclosure (Linnemeyer & Brown, 2010). In this present paper, the identity of student athletes and the effect on their career choices is investigated. It is hypothesized that student athletes base their identity on athletics rather than academics, thus narrowing choices in career. The following five literature reviews attempt to support this hypothesis.
As an individual I love staying active, socializing with others, being dependable, and keeping busy. Playing Basketball for Flour Bluff ISD, since the seventh grade, has granted me the opportunity to achieve all of these goals. For some peculiar reason I have consistently felt that I lacked experience of which my peers had, and that I would never be able to acquire it. Soon after I started playing I became intimidated of my fellow teammates and worried about the time I felt I lost, due to beginning so late in my childhood. Without fail, I always feel a sense of accomplishment after making it through tryouts every year and as I approach my final season, it has become clear just how much of my life was devoted to Basketball, that I truly love it and how I am thankful to be a part of something much more than just a team.

There are many skills that I have to practice to become an expert basketball player. Starting today, I could obtain a basketball and start to dribble with one hand initially until I can master the ability to dribble high and low. Subsequently, I could train to do the same with my other hand, so I can become an ambidextrous dribbler to help move the ball forward in an actual game. Later, I could go to a basketball court to practice my shooting skills. First, I shoot the basketball with proper form three feet from the basket until I make 5-10 shots in a row. Then, I could take two steps back and repeat until I reach the three
I know my chances might be slim to making it into the NBA or the international league but I will continue to master my strengths and work on my

I’ve never been much of a writer, don’t get me wrong I don’t hate writing; I have just never excelled at it. Originally when were given this assignment I thought it would be simple, I already had an idea of what I wanted to write about, but like always I knew I would struggle with finding the right words to use in order to actually write the story. Although I knew what I wanted to write about I still wasn’t completely sure if I wanted to write about this topic, not only because of the challenges it would present but because It was going to be a story about a real friend of mine. The story was going to be about the life of an illegal immigrant who like many others had the dream of becoming a professional football player.
