New London County School Case Study

Payette School District is located in Payette, Idaho and was founded in 1885. Payette is a small town in Idaho right next to the Oregon border with about 7,430 residents. The school district is employing 77 teachers and has a total staff of 81. With around 1,617 students, the schools, in total, currently have a 21:1 student to teacher ratio.

Ahmed had begun attending Granville Public School in 2015, after arriving to Sydney the same year. Seminole county schools is a top ranked school district, located in Central Florida. “Seminole County schools is ranked in the top 100 school districts in the nation in terms of offering high quality education in a moderately priced community. The school district has been recognized every year since 1992 for being in the top 10% of the nation's 15,600 school districts as meeting the needs of families choosing schools. Seminole County had 94% of their schools rated A or B schools with 80% earning an A.” ("Education", 2016)

Clay Country Schools are located in the southwest corner of North Carolina. The school district is currently the only that serves the county providing all grade levels, Pre-K through 12th Grade located on one campus. The campus consists of Hayesville Elementary School, Hayesville Middle School, and Hayesville High School. Historically Clay County Schools has not always been the only public school system to serve the county. Below is a case study of the history of the schools in Clay County and the demographic and fiscal characteristics of the current school system along with statewide comparisons and a recent North Carolina school lawsuit.

I would like to study the politics of education in the New Britain Board of Education. I will research how they divide its power and its impact on public schools. On the Board of Education web page it states, “The mission of the Consolidated School District of New Britain is to create an educational system which will facilitate the development of students so that they may reach their fullest potential as productive human beings and be prepared to function effectively in a changing society.” In my research, I will analyze the BOE’s mission to understand its power structure. Since last spring, Philadelphia school district leaders have been sounding the alarm about this year’s fiscal budget. Even after months of discussions and headlines, schools have opened with fewer resources than last year. On March 28th the School Reform Commission approved a lump sum budget which showed a need for an additional $220 million in revenue in order to provide schools with same resources as the “wholly insufficient” 2013-14 school year (McCorry). There will be many inadequate funding impacts on the quality of the education. Classroom resources would be stripped to untenable levels. The district would reduce as much as $2.2 million funding to the districts’ multiple pathways to graduation program which affects estimated 300 students. Another $1.5 million could be reduced from the elimination of preparation and professional development time for teachers at the district’s high needs promise academies. The district’s building maintenance budget could have reduction in amount of $9.6 million. Schools will be cleaned less frequently as a result. Building maintenance will also be curtailed as a result. District’s school police budget could also have reduction in amount of $2.4 million. School police officer vacancies will be unfilled, leaving an additional 27 elementary schools to share an officer.

Polk county school district is the eighth largest in Florida and the thirteenth in the country. There are more than one hundred and fifty public school and more than one hundred thousand students. This makes Polk county the largest employer of over thirteen thousand employees. Polk county has a large diversity of students including “43.9 percent white, 20.7 percent black, 30.2 percent Hispanic, 1.6 percent Asian, 0.5 percent American Indian or Alaskan Native, 3 percent two or more races and 0.1 percent native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander. Global growth is an increase in the amount of goods and services produced per head. The graph shows that there is a clear correlation between global economic growth and international trade. Up until 1990 to 2008 both global economic growth and international trade steadily increased. However in 2008 when there was a global recession world exports where 16000bn which surpassed world GDP which was 70,000bn. After 2008 both world exports and world GDP fluctuated, in 2010 world exports decreased however it slowly increased to exceed world GDP. Currently both are at the same point on the graph with world exports at 19000bn and world GDP at 80,000. Therefore the graph demonstrates a clear causal link between global growth and global

The global GDP is expected to grow 3.2% in 2011. The financial crisis is no longer setting the pace for developing countries. (The World Bank Group, 2011) Developing countries are close to having regained full-capacity levels. The global crisis is slowly coming to an end. 51. In Chart I, we can see that Economic expansion of China slowed to 7.8 percent year-on-year in 2012. Since 1999, the slowest growth rate was down from 10.4% in 2010 to 9.3% in 2011. It is obvious that the economy’s Q4 grow to 7.9% quickly as well as increasing the investment and consumption values. The China government pared the full-year growth target for 2012 to 7.5% from 8% in nearly 2012. Many economists are expecting the target to remain unchanged for this year.

Global economic recovery appears to have strengthened in recent months and is expected to further improve. The recent uptick in global growth is mainly concentrated in advanced economies and some emerging market and developing economies. The easier financial market conditions and gradually improving consumer and business confidence have supported growth. Stronger external demand

The global economy remained positive despite recent political unrest, especially the between US and North Korea and England’s exit from the European Union; inflation pressures, however remained quiet. Cooperative government policies have helped economies endure these politically unstable times and even sustain growth over several years. Faster growth in business investment and positive consumption growth lead to GDP growth in the three largest economies in the June quarter.
