New Jersey Institute of Technology has always been my number one choice for school. They offered so much to students such as myself. For example, they have over 100 clubs and a many fraternities. Before I came to NJIT, I attended Bayonne high school in Bayonne, New Jersey. It was an amazing experience, one that I would have no regrets repeating. It’s the largest high school in Bayonne, my graduating class was over 700 students and the school in general has 3000 students. Being so large it had many opportunities that other high schools wouldn’t have. It had a team for every sport that you’ve ever heard of, and 20 additional ones that no one knows about. In addition, Bayonne offered a myriad of AP classes to students who met certain requirements, thus giving many opportunities to high school students to get a taste of college-level classes. So even from before I entered into the campus on the first day NJIT was already different, however, it is not different in a bad way.
Besides all the clubs and fraternities they offered to students they offered me a program in the field I wished to pursue. Thus, even before I attended my first class I already knew that I would like NJIT. So far I have only been in NJIT for one week and I have already learned so much. I haven’t just learned from my professors, but also from upperclassmen and other freshmen as well. They should me tours of the schools and of the buildings. Some upperclassmen even took the time to walk me to classes to make
Alabama A&M is better known as Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University. This is a historically black university. Alabama A&M is located just a few miles from where the originally was built in Normal AL. Its first president, Dr. William Hooper Council, an ex-slave, established this university. In 1875 Alabama officials used the Morrill Act of 1862 that allowed state government to establish schools for black teachers and students. Alabama A&M University was one of seventeen new land-grant black institutions established under the Morrill Act. When the doors of the school swung open in 1875 the name was Huntsville Normal School and was located in downtown Huntsville, Alabama. The school consisted of only 61 students and 2 teachers. In 1878 the school developed an industrial education program, and due to the success of the program the school petitioned to change its name to State Normal and Industrial School in Huntsville. The Alabama Legislature approved their request and also rose the funding from 1,000 dollars to 4,000 dollars per year. Under the second Morrill Act in 1890, the university received government funded land for the first time. Having this land allowed students to study agriculture and mechanical studies. In 1896 the name was renamed the State Agricultural and Mechanical College for Negroes. In 1919, institution became recognized as a junior college and was renamed again as the State Agricultural and Mechanical Institute for Negros. After a whole 2

The Van Andel Institute is located in downtown Grand Rapids and works with biomedical research and science education. There are two parts: the Education Institute and the Research Institute. I job shadowed at the Education Institute. Here they have an after school education program to help get students interested in science. This program is called the Science Academy. They have a wide variety of different bugs, fish and reptiles they use to teach the students. They use the animals for the students to research ecosystems and genetics. I job shadowed Cory Kavanagh who works as a laboratory aide. This means he cares for the animals. Cory also does research on the animals and helps teach classes. He serves as an assistant the students for their
So far I can say that I love the Jefferson Scholars Program. The lectures are intriguing (and of course the food is delicious) and I appreciate the variety of activities offered, like the Enchanted Rock hike. My classes are going well although it is somewhat difficult to balance two majors, the Liberal Arts Honors program, and the Jefferson Scholars Program but advising has really helped to keep my schedule organized. My peer mentor group is wonderful. In fact, it is probably my favorite part about the program because unlike mentors in other programs this mentor group actually tries to undertake fun activities together. As I stated before, I really enjoy the lunch seminars and the peer groups. I cannot think of anything that I would change
There are three schools students may have an interest in, these colleges are: Cal Poly Pomona, San Diego State University, and the University of Hawaii at Manoa. The information a student could research are graduation rate, admission rate, jobs out of school, curriculum, greek life, and the student to faculty rate. With the curriculum set at each university, many courses are offered to potential students. After one earns a degree, based on a specific curriculum, schools try to help one student get a job once that pupil have graduated. In the upcoming paragraphs one student could participate on campus: the fun in engaging in greek life, or how in class, the student to faculty ratio may affect a student 's learning. By gathering information
During the spring of 2012, my last semester in High School, I received a letter telling me I got accepted at Northeastern University. Northeastern University is a private research university located in the northeast of the United States, in proximity to the Atlantic Ocean and in the heart of Boston, Massachusetts. Northeastern is regarded as one of the top 50 colleges in the United States. It is highly praised for highly diversified student body. Essentially a place where people from different cultures, religions, and beliefs meet to get a higher education in a setting that encourages you to embrace your diversity. Going back, this acceptance letter also said something I would never forget: “Welcome to the Northeastern University Community”. I was now part of a community with twenty five thousand students, I remember asking myself how could I get to meet twenty five thousand different people? At the time I had never been to campus and was eager to visit Northeastern, meet people, and find my place in this great place I had envision. Honestly, I
To conclude with, I want to say that this school is highly rated. It is also one of the top high schools in Jersey City. The quality of learning is awesome, there are many different courses, and it is hopefully going to bring me even closer to the most important goal in life for me.Go figure it is the best and who would not want to join. I wish I am one of those people who will be a freshmen next year in this

The necessity for a global language has always existed to break down the barriers between nations and for communication to create a sense of a global community. English is quickly filling that niche, and instruction in English as a second language is expanding worldwide to places such as Nepal. Nepal is a land locked country located in Southern Asia bordered by China in the north and India in the south, east, and west with varying geographical areas, from high mountains to low lying plains (Weinberg, 61). The implementation of the instruction of English
The University of Massachusetts Boston prides itself on its accomplishments when it comes to sustainability. The school is built on a landfill site and sustainability has been integrated as a guiding principle in the development of the university (1). Green design has been integrated into the development of the university’s campus center building as well as the new buildings being constructed and renovations being done following the master plan. UMBe Green is the university’s sustainability program which centers itself on the four areas of recycling, education, sustainability, and practice in order to move forward with sustainability (2). UMass Boston has been awarded the “University Sustainability Award” and the Massachusetts ECO-Award for Excellence in Commuting Options for its efforts thus far by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts (2). Although the university has achieved some great goals there is always room for improvement. One problem that UMass Boston still faces on campus is energy consumption from light usage throughout the day. Though energy saving light bulbs are used throughout the campus, but the lights always seem to be on even when no one is in the classrooms or conference rooms. What UMass Boston should be addressing with this problem is what aspects of the building designs have to be changed, what has to be put into place in order to decrease the energy consumption from light usage on campus, and how this beneficial to the university.
New York is an amazing city. It is the center of art, political, fashion, and finance. Pace University as the best university in downtown Manhattan and has a perfect location, which is near Wall Street. Business is the most popular major at Pace University. However, Pace University is not as famous as other universities in New York. Now, Pace University has gotten an investment which is 5 million dollars, and this is a chance to help it to improve its reputation. Pace University should use this money to make more connections with other big companies and provide more jobs to students.
This project aims to develop a quadcopter able to autonomously fly while avoiding fixed and moving obstacles using ultrasonic and infrared proximity sensors. A quadcopter is an unmanned flying vehicle with four motors in a cross arrangement. It is expected that the corresponding controller unit, integrating motor control, based on an Inertia Measurement Unit (IMU), as well as the sensor modules, will be developed using the Atmega-based Arduino platform.
If you’re religious, breastfeeding has been around since Adam and Eve; it has been around since our ape ancestors if you’re into evolution. Any way that you look at it, any mammalian species simply cannot and would not have survived without breastfeeding. In modern US culture there seems to be a stigma around breastfeeding. I personally cannot understand this. We, as mammals, were made to feed our children from our breasts, for that is their specific purpose. For centuries, breastfeeding was the only means of feeding a child whether from the mother’s own breast or from a wet nurse. Breastfeeding has many
