25...24...23...22… My heart beat like it was a frightened hamster. My friends, Ishir, Atley , Varun and Chanhee were playing at our school in the summer. We were on our last Nerf gun game before we would part ways into the mysteries of middle school. I chugged down a can of Fanta and grabbed my gun as my friends did the same. “Let's go Caleb” yelled Chanhee as he sprinted off with Atley. We had split up into our teams which meant that the game had started. I jogged after them and found them hiding in a corner trying to see where Ishir and Varun and were at. They turned around as soon as I stepped behind them, raising their guns. I raised my hands in surrender and they put their guns down. We moved in a large blob which
Mira Kamdar, a French writer, writes her article "America's Gun Madness, as Seen from Europe" to inform her audience about the foolish lack of rules America seems to have on guns compared to other European countries. Kamdar's mother lives in a small city in Oregon, which was recently in the news for the mass shooting at a community college. This story not only made national news for America, but according to Mira, made international news to countries like France. After receiving this news, Mira writes this article to compare and contrast the gun laws in France and what seems the lack of gun laws and regulations in the United States. A mass shooting like the one at Umpqua Community College and even Sandy Hook Elementary School stun citizens
A question that has rang in the ears of the American public and the judicial systems for over 60 years, “Does each American citizen have the right to own firearms or not?” This question was recently restated by Paul Rosenzweig the author of “Guns: A Loaded Argument”. In this commentary Rosenzweig often refers to how awfully indecisive the U.S. Circuits have been regarding the gun situation in America. Rosenzweig Also outlines how the Second amendment have given specific rights to specific individuals which “Shall not be infringed
One of the worst weapons I have certification on is the shotgun. The shotgun is a very powerful and intimidating weapon, but you must have a proper fit and stance. A shotgun and its stock are designed based on the dimensions of an average shooter. It has an average length of pull that is measured from the trigger to the center of the recoil pad. A shotgun, needs the proper fitting of a comb, length of pull, cast and drop to meet a comfortable shooting experience.
In the article “Some Inconvenient Gun Facts for Liberals,” by Nicholas Kristof, Kristof’s main point is to bring awareness and inform individuals about the status of gun control in his/her country. Kristof punctuates that the government is passing laws concerning gun control and regulation, but ultimately he provides evidence that those laws have no benefit overall to the people. Kristof converses that some groups formed due to gun control, but they too do not relate to guns, such as the nonprofit group named Cure Violence. He addresses that the government is ignorant to these problems, and he emphasizes how they needs to be resolved. This article portrays Kristof’s call to action because he is recognizing that the people need to help bring

On January 31, 2013, with the country still reeling in the wake of the Newtown School Massacre, Mallory Simon produced an essay and online video segment for CNN titled “Gun Debate: Where is the Middle Ground?” to facilitate discussion about gun violence and gun control. Simon makes a claim of policy stating that something needs to be done to prevent massacres in public places. The author is trying to get the general public to accept a position of tighter gun controls.
The pro-gun narratives had been a dilemma because many American citizen are not considering federal laws and they resist to obey those regulations. It means that it is very risk to push people in this country to put away their own firearms because it could be in a big conflict with those people. Another philosophical controversial problem is that with the counter arming because as explain the article it creates an on fear citizen that they are fearing for their safe in this country. In this point citizen inspire fear in bad people and
I have read the Tennessean from August 2010. I found some interesting articles throughout it. I was limitedly interested when I read the main headline, Suffrage Amendment Adopted by House. Then I went on to reading the article, “Weekend Golf Tourney Honors Vet Ted Rhodes.” It caught my attention because my dad is a veteran. Lastly, I found the article titled, “New and Destructive Gun” very interesting to read about. These three articles all hold different historical value. ????
I am a detective. When I see someone suspicious, I hunt them down until I find out who they are and what they are doing. On my way out of my office, I saw this strange man, he was a tall, skinny, and seemed to be pretty buff, he was wearing a long trench coat with a hood over his head. This man was also carrying a big metal briefcase, with a combination on it. Just between you and me this guy was CUTE! Even though I do not know this person, I followed him just because he was suspicious. I also followed because he was going to a poker bar, I assumed, he was heading in that direction.
Gun violence and gun safety has always been a concern in the United States. Now more than every groups on both sides are standing up for what they believe. During this last election, the topic of Gun control is a big one, however now that Donald Trump is President, the right is rejoicing while the left is starting to come together to demand more gun control in the United States. Both groups put out advertisements and while some focus on gun control and others on gun safety, both sides use four things to effectively get their point across; logos, pathos, ethos, and kairos.
I am currently living in Seattle, the Emerald City. Even with many wonderful aspects around this city, there are few things that I hope will change in the future. One of the problem that I faced was the gun violence.

Enter the 1950’s, women are confined to their kitchens and mocked by advertisements that tell them to buy a toaster, in a very discriminatory way, of course. How has this changed? Well, nowadays, women are able to do things that they weren’t able to do before. If you want to be a single mother who owns her own house and works in a dive-bar, guess what? You can.
