Our world is filled with a lot of people but eventually there will be no space left. There has been a plan to colonize the moon. NASA is spend billions of dollars to make this project happen. A team of five people will go to mars. Even Neil Armstrong can’t say he colonized moon. T-minus 10-9-8-7-6 “This is finally happening” said Mark. 5-4-3-2-1. The whole crew was pushed back into their seats from the thrust. The moon was soon glowing in front of them. They soon were floating freely in space. They had to wait 2 days before landing on the moon so they had some time to prepare to land. NASA set probes to help set up the camp before hand so the astronauts just had to land and get to camp. The astronauts, once went into their lab, went and
Explorer 1 was America’s first satellite. It was under the direction of Dr. William H. Pickering but designed and built by Dr. James Van Allen. It was launched on January 31, 1958. Explorer 1 was launched on Cape Canaveral by the Army Ballistic Missile Agency. It was launched atop of Juno 1 which was a modified Jupiter-C booster. Explorer 1 was much smaller than the Sputniks, only 30.66 pounds, but It made the first important discovery about the space environment. It discovered an existence of a belt of charged particles which is called the Van Allen Belts. Explorer 1’s external skin of instrument section was painted in alternate strips of white and dark green because it would provide passive temperature control of the
The 1960's brought cultural transformation through outbreaks of violence and contention. The "Love and Peace" slogan led to a bloody fear of "War and Hate." It was an era of protest and revolt. The decade began with the assassinations of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr., escalated with the viciousness of Vietnam, and ended with the suspicion of Watergate. And somewhere in the terror of freedom, we saw two Americans walk on the moon. It was while staring at that crystalline sphere hovering above us that we pondered the scope of our opportunity. On that warm summer night it was a miracle of technology, a step into a new world, a celebrated triumph. We engaged in a political race to the moon against the Communists with a democratic
We feel that this stands as a symbol of the insatiable curiosity of all mankind to explore the unknown,” and at 12:22 P.M. Thursday, the astronauts jettisoned the Service Module to start the final descent from 400,000 feet into the Earth’s atmosphere in which they would travel 24,000 miles an hour. Then the Earth’s air gripped at the spacecraft, slowing its speed. Within minutes, the astronauts were in the water 950 miles southwest of Hawaii – home safe from man’s first trip to the moon. The recovery aircraft carrier then picked up the astronauts, then adorned in biological isolation garments as a quarantine procedure, and carried them to a mobile isolation trailer for a checkup. President Nixon stood about 3 feet away from them speaking through a microphone, he said: “Neil, Buzz and Mike, … I have the privilege of speaking for so many in welcoming you back to Earth. …[Over 100 nations around the world] have had the opportunity to see what you have done.”
It took the Apollo 8 crew three days to get to the moon. They circled the moon about ten times in the matter of 20 hours, and then prepared for their return to Earth. The original mission was to take place in early 1969, but was pushed up months sooner, when it was determined that the lunar module would not be ready in time. Instead, the mission was rescheduled to proceed without the lunar module. It was a 590,000-mile voyage and the total trip time was 7 days, or 147 hours, 0 minutes, 42 seconds.
On July 16, 1969 the Apollo 11 launching was held at Cape Kennedy, Florida marking the beginning of the long awaited mission. Four days after the launching of Apollo 11, roughly 530 million watched Neil Armstrong take the first steps on the moon and heard the famous words, “One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.” The moon, long the symbol of impossibility and forever a mystery, was now beneath mans feet. Neil walked on the moon for nineteen minutes before Aldrin joined him. After Armstrong and Aldrin collected samples for testing, they returned to the spaceship and rested for they had worked very hard. Once they awoke they had been on the moon for 10 revolutions, it was time for them to return home. They landed, as planned, in the Pacific Ocean on July 24, 1969 (Apollo 11 Mission Overview). Though there was a few scares or moments of panic, the mission was a
The Space Race was between two Cold War rivals, the Soviet Union (USSR) and the United States (US). The race to space began in 1955. Apollo 11 successfully put the first man on the Moon. The end of the Space Race was in 1975. The Space Race is considered very important because it would show which nation had the best science, technology, and economic system.
Mental health issues are a challenge faced by many people throughout society as statistics show one out of four people around the world experience mental health challenges. World Health Organization (WHO) states that depression and anxiety are the main conditions that affect people, regardless of their age or ethnicity. Therefore, it is important to know about psychotic disorders and the medication used to treat the symptoms.
At this time the astronauts had to spend 2.5 hours in a parked orbit to prepare for the next part of the trip. During that time they had to test their heart rate, weight and complete a checklist of assigned tasks. Three hours after the spacecraft lifted off it had to reach a speed of 24,000 mph to propel out of Earths orbit. This is known as trans lunar injection. They went through space at 35,579 feet per second. To keep the CSM from melting on one side and freezing on the other it would spin slightly every second and make a turn every 20 minutes. During the trip to the moon the astronauts had to monitor all systems. One down side of the spacecraft was that it had no bathroom or shower. They were given medical kits and 70 different types of food. The gravitational pull of the moon took control of the spacecraft on the second day. Michael Collins had to use the engines to make a course correction due to all of the different gravitational pulls. Three days after launch they would go down to a speed of 3,000 mph and enter an elliptical orbit around the
Azul Arista Mrs. Cox English 14 May 2018 Greek Gods In the Greek country there are a lot of gods, each one of them have different powers. Each one of them used their powers differently, in Greek. All of the gods are special, each one of those gods, have their own history to be told. All gods and goddess are important, too.
Neil Armstrong, was the commander of the mission. Buzz Aldrin was the lunar module pilot. And Michael collins was the command module pilot. It was Neil Armstrong's and Buzz Aldrin's job to land on the moon on the lunar module, and Michael Collins who would stay in the command module waiting for the other two to meet with him after the landings. Speaking of landing on the moon, lets hear what the did to land on the moon. First they would be pulled by the moon closer to its selfe, then after they could they would detach the lunar module from the command module heading to the moon's surface while the command module would orbit the earth, Michael would orbit the moon at about 2 hours per orbit, and would stay up there for about a day's length, but back to the lander, they came in and landed on the south end of the mare tranquillitatis, which is one of the moon's dark spots, they would take a few hours to get ready to exit the module, and as we all know Neil Armstrong was the first human on the moon saying his famous quote: “One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” (Neil Armstrong 1969), but actually what he meant to say was “One small step for A man”, and then a little after that Buzz comes out of the module, they only have a couple of hours to set up tests, that would collect data for many things, set up a laser to see exactly how far the moon was from earth, take a
"One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind," said by Neil Armstrong as he took his first steps on the moon during the NASA Apollo 11 expedition to the moon. No man has ever been to the moon before and NASA, The National Aeronautics and Space Administration, was the first to get someone to land on the moon. NASA has had many great accomplishments in exploring the "new frontier" that have affected the United States ever since it was first created in July 1958. The idea for NASA first started when the Soviet Union launched the first satellite on October 4, 1957. United States started up its own space travel program and started to work on its own projects that would be better in than the Soviet Union's. This all started the great
Proudly placing the American flag into the ground, Neil Armstrong proclaimed “that’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind” as he took his first steps becoming the first American to walk on the moon. That is, the secret film set depicting the moon in the hidden and unknown Area 51, deeply hidden in Nevada. Famed astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin along with ten other American astronauts never actually landed on or took steps on the moon. Furthermore, the six Apollo missions between 1969 and 1972 were faked by the deceitful government operation, NASA. The captivating footage of the first steps millions of Americans watched from their home television sets was merely another space movie.
The Apollo 11 mission of 1969 marks the biggest leap in technological advancements for humanity. Neil Armstrong is seen taking the first steps on the moon forever making his mark in humanity. However, theories surrounding the moon landing have come to light. Conspiracy theorists say NASA, the National Aeronautics Space Administration, have faked the Apollo 11 moon landing. Yet, present evidence can support the authenticity of the moon landing. Evidence such as photos, rock samples, technology, and computer monitoring support the moon landing. The moon landing of 1969 did happen.
Why Capital Punishment should be illegal The Constitution that governs our laws in America is there to protect all of its people and that include the criminals that are on death row. The death penalty materially violates the constitutional ban against cruel and unusual punishment, the guarantees of due process of law, and of equal protection under the law. This is the reason why capital punishment should be illegal in all fifty states. We believe that the states should not give itself the right to kill any human beings. Capital punishment is an inexcusable denial of civil rights and is inconsistent with the basic values of our democratic system. The death penalty is uncivilized in theory and unfair in practice. The death penalty system in the US is applied in an unfair and unjust manner against people, largely dependent on how much money they have, the skills of their attorneys, race of the victim and where the crime took place. Through litigations, legislation, and encouragement against this vicious and brutal way, we strive to prevent executions and seek to abolishment of capital punishment. We would like to think that the death penalty is more cost effective. It seems like the accused is seen in court for their horrendous crime, sentenced for Capital Punishment, and the next day they face execution. Easy, cheap for us taxpayers. That is far from the truth. The death penalty is a waste of taxpayers’ funds. It boggles the time and energy of courts, prosecuting attorneys,
Neil Armstrong 's 1969 lunar landing was one of humanity 's greatest accomplishments. Since then, we have found that an infinite supply of knowledge and resources await us just outside our atmosphere. Today, however, critics are beginning to argue more and more that the cost of space exploration is too high, and therefore new technological developments should be left to the private sector. Whether funded privately or by the government, funding of space exploration is imperative because NASA is essentially the only agency with the technological capabilities to support aircraft manufacturing, air safety and air transportation. Space exploration has also resulted in remarkable innovations that has played a key role in aeronautics research, preventative medicine, and allows scientists to study asteroids, along with other space debris and their impacts on Earth.
