After being inducted into National Honor Society my junior year, I have been working with children at Matoaca Elementary School on a weekly basis to gain the community service hours the honor society requires. I work alongside the computer teacher to assist in helping kindergarteners learn how to use a computer. Many of these children had never used a mouse or a keyboard, and some didn't know all of their numbers and letters. The progress they have made since September has made me very proud of them, and the educational activities they do on the computer has helped them improve their math and reading skills. Before I started to volunteer there, I had never been exposed to an environment where I was to fill the role of an educator and role model
For the past four years I have been an active member of the GCAA Honor Society Club.
Summary: As a High school graduate, I am looking for a job where I can use some of my experience from taking care of horses for two years, serving in NHS, and being organized focused and clean. Feeding horses includes carrying square bales, 50-pound feed bags, and water buckets. I have had ample experience keeping the barn straightened, and I am very capable of manual labor. Though most of what I do is manual labor, I still have great people skills. I have ample experience dealing with people in numerous positions. As a member of National Honor Society, I am required to do a certain amount of community service. This includes dealing with peers in the community and serving with the heart of Christ, but it also includes working with the sponsor
The writing process could be very beneficial to a student, like Michele, to follow while writing an essay to apply to the National Honor Society. It is important for her to join the National Honor Society as a way to be involved in giving back to the community through service. Applying to clubs, in or out of school, frequently requires essays to explain the wanted qualifications, and what could be brought to their club. These application essays are always read thoroughly to ensure the best fit person will be accepted to the club. The writing process is an extremely valuable tool for Michele to use to improve writing and produce a well developed, professional paper.
I believe I would be a valuable member of the National Junior Honor Society because I meet many of the four pillars, scholarship, service, leadership, and character, which NJHS represents. I partake in many after extra-curricular activities such as, rec soccer, rec cheer leading, TAG, the middle school musical, district band, after school volunteering, and in the student government; service. For leadership I am in the student government for my class. My grades have never been lower than honors, and the previous marking period and this marking period I have retained high honors. I believe that I am a well-rounded person and very encouraging and helpful
I should be in NJHS because I believe I have all the qualities it takes to be a productive member within NJHS. The five pillars of National Junior Honor Society are: Scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. During this school year, along with academic excellence, I was also a leader. When I think of a leader, I think of a person who empowers others by showing supreme honesty, integrity, innovation, communication, confidence, and empathy. I showed this by taking charge of things that seemed derailed.
After first becoming a member of four honor societies, I was reluctant to believe that community service and volunteering was “rewarding” and “inspiring”, as the honor society veterans claimed. It was my conviction that volunteering with these honor societies was time-consuming and obligatory. But after several years of participation in these societies, I learned that such endeavors are anything but the two; community service and volunteering has not only been a reminiscent and nostalgic experience for me but has played a pivotal role in my decision to study under a field of engineering in college. My participation in the Science National Honor Society, in particular, has had the most profound impact on me as an aspiring engineer and a once
It is my great honor to have been considered for National Honor Society. My grades, and character are of the utmost importance to me. My cumulative GPA is 3.747 as of the 2015-2016 school year. To be considered for National Honor Society, one must demonstrate qualities of leadership, scholarship, character, and service. By showing that I possess these qualities, I believe I would be a worthy member of Galion High School’s National Honor Society. It is highly valuable for me to be an excellent role model for my community, siblings, and peers. I am in multiple clubs including Key Club, Teen Green, and Student Council. In Student Council I have been elected as Class President. I plan to lead my class with honor, integrity, and responsibility to
National Honor Society plans to throw a football jersey fundraiser in order to prepare for the upcoming induction ceremony. This decision has lead to many misunderstandings throughout the Pella High School student body.
Throughout my high school career, I have come to be heavily involved in activities within my high school. I was inducted into National Honor Society in the school year of 2015-2016. I came to be involved in the Drama Club for all four years of my high school career, along with being in Student Council all four years as well. In Student Council, I held the position of treasurer my senior year, and was on the executive board. The music department also has been one of the biggest programs I have come to be involved in within my high school career. I have played alto saxophone in concert band all four years of high school, and played alto saxophone my senior year in jazz band. Along with being in both concert band and jazz band, I was also part
I am deeply honored to be one of the students who are being considered for the Math and Science Academy chapter of the National Honor Society. Being a part of NHS has been something that I have been looking forward to ever since I got into high school. I know a few people who were or are in this society, and they are always telling me how rewarding it is to be a part of such a remarkable organization. Currently, as a sophomore, I feel that the past year of high school has enormously shaped my character; improved my leadership skills; challenged me academically; and
When it comes to leadership the mores experience you have, the high chance of success the team has. National Honors Society is a brilliant program, in which it allows students to take part in programs that have a positive impact on the community. This would help me in the future because with the ability to be a leader I can see what works and what does not. Also with the lessons I learn about leadership I will be able to use it in my future career field. With the experience of being a leader, I can further my career by planning events with museums and exhibits.
I believe that the National Honor Society should play a sizable role in the school community. The National Honor Society does an outstanding job commemorating students not just for academics, but also for leadership, characteristics, and service. Almost all other awards given at schools deal strictly with congratulating students for excellent academics, whereas top students of the National Honor Society excel in all of the criteria.
Families and friends gathered to witness 100 students be inducted into the Elgin High School chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) in a ceremony at the school Thursday evening.
National Junior Honor Society will be a great opportunity for me. If I am accepted into NJHS I plan on keeping up my 4.0 average, balancing between school and outside of school activities, continuing to help my community/peers, and creating a specific idea to make a positive impact at the school. The next 3 paragraphs I will be stating why I will be a great member of NJHS, why it's good to help people, and something I could do to positively impact my school.
I still remember the time in Middle School when I was inducted as a member of NJHS(National Junior Honor Society). It was truly an honor to be accepted such a recognition for my outstanding grades and admirable characters. While receiving the certificate, I looked over to my parents who had big smiles on their face, they were very proud. Being a member of NJHS made me realize I play an important role in the community.
