Joseph Plumb Martin was born “upon the twenty-first of November, in the year of 1760” (Martin 6). His grandparents raised him on their Connecticut farm. Inspired by the Battles of Lexington and Concord he decided to enlist into the army. He was eager to help for the patriotic cause. In June of 1776, at the age of 15, Martin was able to enlist but didn’t want to sign up for a long enlistment. Soldiers at the time were enlisting for a year’s service but he did not like that and thought it was too long a time for him for the first trial, “I wished only to take a priming before I took upon me the whole coat of paint for a soldier” (Martin 16). Orders soon came allowing men to enlist for six months so Martin enrolled in the Connecticut
According to his article, “The Battle Against Fast Food Begins In The Home”, the author, columnist and blogger Daniel Weintraub, argues parents, not fast-food companies or the government are responsible for their child's health and well being. Weintraub supports this claim by providing data from the Center For Public Health Advocacy on the subject of overweight schoolchildren, State law recommendations outlining nutritional standards, and his own experience with the problem. Weintraub intends to convince or persuade the parents or parent to accept the blame for their overweight child. From my standpoint, however, it is clear the

2) I agree with Jared diamonds statement that industrialized states are not automatically better than hunter gather tribes. I believe that he is trying to say that although we are often fed the lies that are civilizations are safer, smarter and better, they are not always true. Hunter gather tribes do not have many of the luxuries that we take for granted, but they have many things we do not. For example, their children do not spend hours a day on screens, instead they are exercising or interacting with other children and adults. Promoting social interaction and fitness. Also, hunter gathers work a fraction of the time we do in modern society. They generally have less hours of labor so they can have more time to spend with one another creating stronger bonds and support that benefit them in the working field. Where as, in modern America people often work 10+ hours a day leaving less time to bond with family and work together. All in all our technology may be more advanced but are social interactions and standings help support Diamond’s statements.

When I analyze the actions and character of a leader, I will begin analyzing the period in the socio-economic and security aspects. Ben-Gurion's period is characterized by the threat of survival for the State of Israel and the Jewish community of about 600 thousand people and a difficult economic situation and lack of infrastructure both physical and spiritual. Benjamin Netanyahu's term is characterized by a stronger Israel than a regional power, a developed economy, and existing infrastructures.
