My outfit for thanksgiving day was a black pant, long blue shirt and a cap, because I was too lazy to fix m hair. My dad came from work and just fried the turkey, while my older brother Emmanuel, younger sisters and I went out. Our first outing was to the park, then my other older brother came with his girlfriend to the house by 12 noon. They both decide to take us out to lewisville main event for bowling, which was fun and lots of screaming. I won the bowling game and was super excited about it, but it was a huge struggle. After the bowling, we wanted to go for roller skating which we thought was free, because we were too many to pay for it, but it was not free. By then, the time was almost five o'clock in the evening and my siblings had to
Heavenly smells in the air, footballs on T.V, family is gathered around, and a comfortable homey feel of my grandmother’s house makes Thanksgiving one of my favorite meals of the year. I will always have memories of thanksgiving at my grandmothers. The smell that rushes your nose as you walk in to the house. So many mouthwatering smells go through the air at my grandmother’s thanksgiving. Her Thanksgiving dinner never fails to fulfill my expectations. With the whole family gathered and the dinner table full of delicious food, I can’t help but feel content.
When we went to Lubbock to go visit are the family, we has to stay at my grandmas house and it was cold in their house because they didn't have their heater on we told them to put it on but they never listen to us. So we all just wrapped ourselves in blankets. We celebrated Christmas with my dad's side of the family for the day. We eat ham and other sides that they made with it and we opened gifts, all I got was some clothes. The next day we celebrated with my mom's side of the family. We ate tacos, beans, and chips and after that we opened presents and we played bingo. Then the next day we went back home, back it was time to go back.
Thanksgiving Memoir I was waiting in the car my mom was driving. I saw my brother sleeping so I could not play with him so I went back to sleep. My mom was calling” Ben Ben Ben!” I woke up, I was very drowsy It was time to get out of the car. My mom and dad were still waiting for my brother to get out of the car so I just waited. For 5 minutes I stood waiting for my brother to wake up.When my brother finally woke up feeling sleepy we headed to the front door and stepped over the threshold to see my relatives.
To begin with, I went to the mall with my friend, Nate, and we had a fun time. We went to F.Y.E so I could get Funko Pops, and I got twelve adorable figures. Then, we went to JC Pennys to get me two new pairs of jeans. Nate had to wait outside while I tried them on. After that, Nate and I went to Bath and Body Works to get perfume for me. I made him smell everything and we had headaches by the time we left. While my parents shopped, we walked around the mall for the rest of the time.
It was June 10, the day we got out of school and headed to the beach. It was our annual family trip to Myrtle Beach which meant going to Family Kingdom, River City, to the ocean, and playing around. I couldn’t wait it was finally time to go and as soon as we got on the highway my mom stops the car and turns around because she forgot her pillow. That didn’t really bother me because everyone forgets things. We were about two hours into the trip when my brother realizes that he forgot his phone. He complained the whole rest of the way how he wanted to go home and he didn’t want to go all because of his phone. But the best part was soon to come. We stopped at a convenient store to rest and get a snack. I got a bag of Chex Mix and a Blue Raspberry
This year Thanksgiving is on November 23,2017. Every year my family Thanksgiving is the best, to me at least. So we always have Thanksgiving at my Grandmas and Grandpas, but not this year we are having it at my house. Which I mean could be good and bad. Good is it is at my house so it’s cool and bad, the house has to be completely spotless or my mom will freak out. Normally what we do every year is we get my family together and have dinner, mess around, and watch football. This year my dad's brother is coming with his three daughters and his wife and my grandpa and grandma. I really can’t wait to see them all because I don't really see them that much as I would like to. When we have a family dinner like this we always have a lot of food for everyone.
It 's a tradition that my moms side of the family come to my grandmas house for Thanksgiving. The cool air and falling leaves is a sign of fall and Thanksgiving is my least favorite holiday. I don’t like my cousins very much and I 'm pretty sure the feeling is mutual. Thanksgiving is not that cheerful for me. Years ago at Thanksgiving, I was not excited for it, just like every other year. My grandmas basement is very much underground and quite dark without the lights on. My cousins were running around the basement playing around. I started to try to scare them by hiding and popping out saying "Boo!". Evening approached and the moon starts to come out of hiding and the night starts to set in. It’s a cool night outside and the sun starts to
Thanksgiving Day brings to the airlines of the USA and Canada much more passengers. Thanksgiving is a week away that's about the only thing on my mind, my dad's mind, my mom's mind, everyone’s mind. Plus my dad just got back home from doing five years in prison, so yea it was something to look forward to, sitting at the table as a complete family again. Anyway we had just picked my dad up from work, that night we ate steak and potatoes, my favorite! It was a school night I had just gotten my school clothes ready and was headed to take my shower. I stopped in my parent’s room, because I saw my dad up getting dressed to go out that night. We talked for a minute or two then he told me goodnight he'll be back, so I continued to do what I was doing. I really had no idea this would be the last time I saw my dad. Around 7 a.m. the
The concept of human wisdom is fundamental for an understanding of the “Apology” In Plato’s writings, Socrates is describing his practice of philosophy as a response to the Delphic oracle’s famous statement that “no one is wiser” than he is. Socrates at first regards the oracle’s exclamation as a riddle, since it paints a meaning that contradicts an image of himself: “What is his riddle? I am very conscious that I am not wise at all; what then does he mean by saying that I am the wisest?” (Dan Futter). There are interpretations that have offered insufficient resources for explaining how Socrates could have been humanly wise before Apollo’s oracle, when Socrates believed incorrectly that he was not wise at all. I argue that a reasonable interpretation
This review attempts to analyze the Greek goddess Athena as well as Greek women whose function in society contrasts with the roles of a goddess. This topic is of relevance to feminist’s who are smashing down barriers on stereotypes of women, this study attempts to shed some light to recognize the roles of Athena and Greek women. Past research has analyzed the differences between Greek women and Athena on how they contrast with responsibilities. What is often ignored is the complexity of both individuals whose world is distinctive in a manner of the environment and upbringing both parties had experienced. Of particular focus in this essay are the issues of which, Greek women endure throughout their daily lives in contrast with the Greek goddess Athena, such as the different social classes between goddesses and mortals, like Athena, Greek women were not looked upon as godly, but as slaves or property to men. To extend my knowledge of this focus I make references to books by Barry B. Powell on Classical Myth (2015), Homers The Essential Odyssey (2007), and Stephen M. Trzaskoma’s Anthology of Classical Myth (2004) which encompass a wide range of of primary and secondary sources.
For this research report the class had to choose a controversial topic for infant and toddler development and describe our opinion about it and do research on it. The topic I chose to do my report on is vaccines. I believe that each child should get vaccinated because it is extremely important to the child’s health and wellbeing. Vaccines need to be done to ensure children are protected against preventable diseases. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends getting 28 doses of 10 vaccines for kids aged 0 to six. No US federal laws mandate vaccination, but all 50 states require certain vaccinations for children to get into public schools. Most states offer medical and religious exemptions. People that are pro vaccines point out that illnesses, including rubella, diphtheria, smallpox, polio, and whooping cough, are now prevented by vaccination and millions of children’s lives are saved. They say that adverse reactions to vaccines are extremely rare.
Not so thankful for what happened on thanksgiving. On Thursday, November 26, 2015 my mom suggested that I invite some friends over. My mom just wanted to meet the guys that I was intending to go black friday shopping with later that evening I assumed. Thanksgiving morning, I had asked my friends Ceejay ,Alex, and Collin to come over on Thanksgiving. They arrived and my mom had introduced herself to them and was joking around with them.
Like I said in my introduction, this paragraph will be about when I went shopping multiple times with my family. I know it might sound dumb for a first paragraph but, too me it was awesome. That's because, I love spending time with my family, especially when we're all getting along. Let me break down this day for you. First it was a good morning, my mom made me breakfast and everyone was in a good mood. My Brother was happy, my Dad was being hilarious, and my Mom just seemed like she was having a great time. Then we all got dressed, I was making sure that I looked extra stunning. So we get into the car and my favorite song comes on “Despacito” so my family and I all started singing it together. About an hour later we get to the South lake Mall and we went to four stores, Hollister, Vans, Journeys, and American Eagle. My Mom, Brother, and I all went to those four stores while my Dad went shopping somewhere else. It was going well , we were all having a fantastic time together. Then once we were done shopping we went to McDonald's got some food because, who doesn't adore McDonald`s right? Then we headed back home, it was a great day and for sure one of my favorite memories from this Summer. Keep in mind my family and I did this like 2 or 3 times this year, so it was extra fun.
I got out of school full of joy because it was Friday and we were going camping that evening. My sister picked me up, which was a little weird, but she is 34 and has picked me up from school before. On the way to my house, where my sister would drop me off, I was talking to my niece about her ballet recital that was happening in a couple of days. When we got home, my mom’s car wasn’t in the driveway, which is really strange since we get out of school at 2:30, and my mom gets off work at 2:00. I walked inside, set all my stuff down, and went to the basement to play with my nephew and niece. A few moments later my sister called us all upstairs, and said “We have to go, Josh is hurt.”
