We went downtown in mackinaw there is a haunted building we were going to but are dad had a meating and you walk or ride in a carriage. We were pulling up at the parking lot of Knott's soak city it was so full. I was so exited. First we had to get our tickets. Second we had to find some chairs. Then we went to a pool called The wave cove. And every 5 minutes waves would hit. It was so fun to swim over them. After that we went to a big water slide that was 50 feet tall. My little cousin went on one that was 4 feet tall. Then we ate pizza and salad. Then we went to the Lazy river that took you around Knott's soak city.
Back on that warm summer day, my brother and I climbed into the van with my parents and grandmother to begin the road trip. My mother sat in the front as my father
“ Off to Indiana for Regionals,” Kurt said as he was walking back to the team tent from his outstanding 8k (5 miles) with a new personal record of 26:52. Kurt Swaton is my brother and he is about 5,9 and he is really buff. Kurt is 19 and freshman at Albion College. He runs cross country and now he is the 4th fastest runner on the team. At the start of the season he was 13th and now he is on varsity and going to Regionals. My brother Kurt inspires me because he always tells me, “Never give up and in return, anything can happen.”
This summer, I received an invitation to stay at my friend’s house on the Rappahannock River. During my stay, we spent the majority of our time outdoors amongst the nature and wildlife. Upon our arrival, we dropped everything and grabbed the canoes. As we set off, I looked at my surroundings. While the water was calm, peaceful, and a comforting shade of dark blue, something else grabbed my attention: the litter. Near the docks, I could not help but notice the bright yellow Lay’s potato chip bag and the six pack rings from someone’s soda. Seeing the trash just floating in the water frustrated me. Here I was in this gorgeous environment, and my eyes cannot stray from a potato chip bag! As I floated away, there was little I could do. However,
The largest environmental feature of the Southeast Corridor is the Monocacy River. As the largest tributary into the Potomac river, limiting negative environmental impacts is a key constraint of redevelopment in the area (Frederick County Planning and Permitting Department, 2010). In addition, the Monocacy River is also utilized for local water supply. As a classified Tier II Stream Segment, our portion of the river has a high Benthic Index and Fish Index of Biotic Integrity. The State of Maryland has identified the river as a State Green Infrastructure Corridor and Sensitive Species area. Any new development along the river would have to have a setback of up to 175 ft from the river due to the Waterbody Buffer Ordinance.
Many wonderful Friday evening dances were enjoyed with my one and only black-haired girlfriend. The cost for the evening totaled thirty cents: five cents car fare each way to the Sioux City Boat Club in Riverside, plus two five cent ice cream sodas at Phillips Drug Store on Pierce Street. The evening ended as I walked the young lady home to 1211 Nebraska Street (the streetcars stopped their regular schedules early in the evening).
Who's your Michigan hero? My Michigan hero is my favorite person in the world, my best friend , Jaytion Wallace . Jaytion is slightly taller than me, so she would be about 5.2. She has brown eyes, dark brown hair and caramel skin. People say we look alike but Jaytion and I don’t see it. When people say that it’s funny , because Jaytion and I consider ourselves as sisters. Jaytion and I haven’t known each other for a long time, but it feels like i’ve known her my whole entire life. The couple years i’ve known Jaytion, I noticed that i’ve gotten better at school, and i’ve done things I wouldn’t have done before I met her.My best friend ,Jaytion Wallace has a positive impact on my life.
Growing up in today's technology minded culture, it is sometimes hard to separate from social media, and simply going outdoors. When I graduated high school everyone I asked “What will you be doing this summer” normally answered binge watching their favorite show on Netflix, playing video games, or online summer homework. I wanted to do something different that didn't include me connecting to wifi or reaching for my charger.
The mystery of Roanoke Island has yet to be solved. How can a group of settlers
It was cool because we went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, something that I remember is when we were at looking at the elephants we were walked by a rhino statue and it sprayed my sister with water. We didn’t know that was going to happen, come to find out there was a sign that said it sprays water. Also we went to the Broadmoor hotel it was so cool. One thing about that hotel is that there things are very expensive, a small candy was$20. I was like oh my goodness.
I was bored. The car ride was long. I thought the trip to my grandpa's boat lake Michigan would be short, but I was wrong. We hit every red light and I was losing my patience. We finally get there, the weather is bad, it’s raining, I had a sniffle, and we catch nothing. “Patience” grandpa said. A few weeks later we go out again, still nothing, but at least it wasn’t raining that day. I’d never fished before so when my hook caught pieces of seaweed I thought it was a fish. My grandpa reminded me that you must be patient. Then I reminded him that he “guaranteed” me that I would catch a fish by the end of the summer. I told him that we would catch fish if we went out into the lake instead of just fishing off of the back of this boat on the
I had already bought my ticket and was was getting scanned by the metal detector. Walking in was like getting prepared to get scared. The air was cold, gloomy, and had the weirdest clouds I have ever seen. It was like they made the clouds to fit perfect with the theme. All the rides were light up on the tracks with cool lights.I have never been to cedar point at night time. My friends and I went off to adventure the park by ourselves. I liked that more because their were four of us so if a ride had carts of two I could go with my friends Tj and the other two could go with each other. First we went to the ValRavn, the tall and fastest dive coaster in the world.
restaurant and the food was amazing, I had some Mickey pancakes with some whip cream, it was the bomb. After that we went the next park over Epcot. When we got there my dad and I went on the best ride ever, The Space Adventure. It was the best it felt like we were actually in space cause you could see outside into space and you had a role in the mission and everything it was so cool. After that we went to this ford thingy where you get to design a car and the
Anyways, so we checked in and got our room and our super cool disney cups and were all set. It was night time by the time we got there that day so we didn’t really get to do much that day. So the next day we all got up and got ready for Hollywood Studios- which is the part where all the disney movies are turned into games and rides. That day was super fun, most likely because growing up I didn’t really watch anything besides disney movies or shows. So as the day went on I started getting sleepy but I was pushing through the sleepiness because I mean come on, I was at Disney World! This place was awesome!
My mom, dad, brother, and I were all putting sunscreen on, head to toe like we showered in it while we were waiting for the cab to pick us up to go pick up the ATV's. Once the cab got to the hotel, we all had to stuff ourselves and our belongings in it because it was one of those mini cars that only had room for three people, but we were four people not including the driver. At the ATV Rental place, we got sized for helmets and the ATV. My brother and I were not old enough to drive the ATV so my brother and my father went together while my mother and I went together. Before you know it, we were out and about zooming through the streets of Aruba to get the California Lighthouse which
