This was Gwen’s favorite place to be during wintertime, Brew or Bust, the cozy, quaint coffee shop just down the street from her apartment. Lazy snowflakes drifted past the window as she sipped her warm chai tea, the beverage’s sweet richness filling her senses. It was Sunday, a lazy day off from her work as a children’s librarian, a job she’d held for more than a year and loved. Since it was around seven in the morning and a weekend, Gwen and a well-dressed middle-aged couple were the only ones in the shop. She’s always woken early, ever since childhood, relishing the peace mornings brought before the day started in earnest. The bells on the door jangled, drawing her attention toward the entrance. In stumbled an elderly man, tall and
Erin seems to always be testing her boundaries in this book. She quits her cozy 9-5 city job as the Boston editor for a lifestyle website, to rise before dawn to preform back breaking work in any and all weather conditions (Murray 10). Erin describes the weather conditions for a typical workday on the
Kyra’s alarm clock woke her up every Monday morning at 6:00 am to go to her Alcohol awareness meeting that took place at her local church. This early hour of the morning proved to be a bit difficult to wake up at, especially for someone who was out all night the night before partying and drinking. This particular Monday morning proved to be no different as Kyra’s alarm clock woke her up once again at 6:00 am.
On 10/08/17, at approximately 12:08pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian with Franklin County Animal Care and Control was dispatched to 3470 Fishinger Mill Dr on a dog on dog or cat attack, no known owner. I arrived at the location and spoke to complainant Holly Davis. Ms. Davis stated she is dog sitting her parent’s dog. She was taking out the trash and walking the dog. Ms. Davis approached the apartment complex dumpster and saw an unknown female with a Chihuahua (white/brown) at the dumpster. Ms. Davis stood a distance away to allow the unknown female to throw her trash away. The Chihuahua was off leash and approached Ms. Davis and her dog, the Chihuahua snuffed the other dog, and for no reason the Chihuahua bit Ms. Davis dog. The unknown

As Ruby enters the kitchen and hands Beth, the deck of Tarot Cards, Clemmy Sue, and Estelle Louise sashay into the empty Diner and scoot into a booth. At the same time, Estelle Louise excusing herself and rushes to the restroom, Ruby ambles to the booth and said, “On a night like this Clemmy Sue, you’re a breath of pure sunshine. Coffee for you and your friend?
“Sweetheart, we know you want to play, but you need to come in.” Her mother smiled at her from the doorway. “I’ve made hot chocolate.” It was a lie, of course. Hot chocolate was a delicacy in those times, especially in such a far away land as Scotland, but anything to keep Larissa, their one joy, safe.
Madison Knight read the dismal bank balance before placing the laptop on the coffee table. Pity tears threatened to fall, but she blinked them back and held tight to the blanket draped over her shoulders. Sinking to the couch, she dreaded the Oregon winter, the challenging snowstorms, and now the holidays.
She sat perched upon the edge of her seat, her eyes downcast as she watched the white of the cream curl amidst the dark brown of the coffee. How many cups did this make within the last 24 hours? Her twelfth? Thirteenth? There had been one point in which she had almost had two in a row, were it not for the small voice in her head that had advised her otherwise. So, she had opted for water in its stead and immediately regretted it. Fifteen minutes later, the young Capulet found herself fighting to keep her eyelids open -- almost falling asleep while standing, a feat in itself. Had she mustered the selfishness and indifference towards her fellow Capulets, she might have allowed herself to fall asleep while they gave their reports and accepted
While Jane was in Germany, she saw women carrying large beer canisters on their backs across snowy walkways. The beer was steamy hot and would splash onto the women's faces and hands. Many of the women had scars on them from the burns. Jane could hardly contain herself, ran to the brewery, and yelled at the owner. The owner did not care, and told Jane to mind her own business. After several years in Europe, Germany, and Spain, Jane decided it was time to do the dream of her childhood. She would return to Chicago and open a large home in an impoverished part of town. At last, her dream would become a reality.
In John’s birthday morning, he begins to realize what he wants and who he will be. “Not until the morning of his fourteenth birthday did he really begin to think about it, and by then it was already too late.” For Florence, the morning is a new starting point of her life because she plans to leave her home and pursue freedom. “And this became Florence’s deep ambition: to walk out one morning through the cabin door, never to return.” The morning is a turning point of Elizabeth’s life because she is going to lose her love and hope. “And on Monday morning he was not at work. She left during the lunch hour to go to hid room. He was not there. His landlady said that he had not been there all weekend.” The morning can both show beautiful yearning and

Caroline’s POV: Saturday morning. So relaxing, so refreshing. Peace. Serenity. The whole house is quiet. All I can hear is the bubbling of the coffee machine. It beeps. I pick up the coffee pot and watch the dark liquid ooze into my yellow mug. The morning is what I live for. No children are up to bother me about stupid things.
I’m late. The Starbucks line was long and the coffee stain is still splattered on my black skirt. I check my calendar, September 11. The city’s smog is killing me. If it wasn’t for this meeting, I’d be at my allergist getting new medication to deal with it. I take another sip of my coffee. The heat and the splash of mint I had them add, helps open up my sinuses.
Why is corporation adoption good and bad? Many people believe that corporation adoption has a negative outlook. However, many other believe it to be positive. With these positive and negative outlooks we can see that there is good and bad to corporation adoption. I believe that corporation adoption can be more positive than having negative.
If you look in the dictionary, you’ll find the definition of educated to be something close to this: having undergone education; characterized by or displaying qualities of culture and learning; based on some information or experience. But I haven’t found this to be particularly specific, or really helpful at all. As I’ve come to understand, being educated is transient, unless you learn to be, as a truly educated person is, a life-long learner. True education comes from yourself, from gaining an understanding of yourself, and from honing skills such as creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. These skills are what make a truly educated person, because they can use and further these skills throughout any aspect of their
