Naples, Italy is located in southern Europe along the coast, east of the Mediterranean Sea. Its longitude and latitude are 40.8450° N and 14.2583° E, which means that Naples never gets directed sunlight overhead any day throughout the year. Naples has an elevation of about 20 feet above sea level. This is relatively low, and the city itself is close to the sea as well. This is kind of scary because the sea levels keep rising, and in the future Naples could be submerged in water. The system was developed by a German climatologist and a botanist Wladimir Koppen 1846-1940 who put the world's climates into several different major categories based on general temperature related to latitude. The Koppen system classifies a location’s climate mostly by using annual and monthly temperature averages and precipitation.

Naples Italy’s climate classification is a CSA. This climate is typical of places in the Mediterranean area, this climate is a subtropical climate. The places around the Mediterranean Sea is where this climate is mostly found. This climate is also found in southern Oregon and in most of California. It is found in parts of Western and Southern Australia as well and in southwestern South Africa. Some sections of Central Asia and central Chile are CSA too. This Climate has a dry and hot summer and a rainy winter.
California and central Chile have the same Koppen classification with CSA. Both of the places are on the western side of each of their continents. These places have the same climate throughout the year. During the winter it rains but the summers in both places are always dry barely any rain, it is hard to grow crops in the summer. There is also high pressure in all these places and when there is high pressure there is less precipitation.

The features of those places are actual historic. The people preserved their artifacts nicely. That’s why they are a high tourist destinations. Italy is a boot-shaped country that covers 294,149 square kilometers of land and 7,200 square kilometers of water, totaling 301,340 square kilometers and is apart of the eastern Hemisphere and located in Southern Europe. Located in the Mediterranean Sea is where this Peninsula lies and is surrounded by rolling hills, valleys, along with Alps and Apennine Mountains. Italy is situated is the center of the Mediterranean Sea. The main strength of geographical location is that Italy belongs to the coasts of four different seas (Adriatic Sea, Ionian Sea, Tyrrhenian Sea and Ligurian Sea). There are two large mountain ranges in Italy: Alps and Apennines. It is a big plus for tourism sector of the country.
