New Building-Optical Networks The new structure has been given a grant to make its network state of the art by making it a fiber optic network. The topics of discussion that will be mentioned in this paper are the hardware that will be necessary for the inside and outside of the building and how we would expand the fiber to an adjacent building if it is built. Another topic to be discussed will be describing the safety procedures that will be following during the installation. INSTALLATION HARDWARE PULLING EYE- When running a cable through a wall, conduit or other inaccessible space a pulling eye can be an indispensable tool. This device is specially designed to attach to the strength member of the cable at one end and a pulling line on …show more content…
The two major safety issues are proper disposal of the glass strands created by cutting and trimming the fiber or accidentally breaking it, and the cleaning chemicals and adhesives used in installations. * Always dispose of fiber scraps carefully, place in a disposable container that has a sealed lid and dispose of them properly. Remember fiber scraps are the same as glass splinters. * Handle cleaning chemicals and adhesives carefully and be sure to be familiar with the Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’s) information and the hazards * Employee will use double-sided tape to pick up broken or stray pieces of fiber. * Employee will frequently clear off working surfaces where bare fiber may exist, use double-sided tape to pick up broken or stray pieces of fiber. * The used double-sided tape with broken or stray pieces of fiber will be disposed of in properly labeled containers that can be tightly sealed. * Employee will not allow broken or stray pieces of fiber to fall onto the floor where they will stick in carpets or cling to shoes and be carried elsewhere. * Employee will avoid setting up fiber optic cable splicing and terminating work areas directly under or near heating or air conditioning outlets, as dust or dirt on connectors is a major cause of scratches on polished connectors that can cause high loss measurements. * Employees must keep dust caps on connectors, bulkhead splices, and patch panels and use lint-free pads and

Cleaning products, chemicals, first aid supplies must be clearly and correctly labeled. Any substances that are deemed harmful such as irritants and toxic or corrosive substances must not be used unless a risk assessment has been carried out and a procedure in place for its use.
Clean / clear things as you go / good house keeping will prevent health and safety issues arising
* Equipment, material and the environment are checked and any hazards are identified and removed
5.2 Avoiding hazardous manual handling , conducting a full risk assessment, reporting immediately any difficulties adhering to agreed working practices and using equipment correctly.
After a surgery has taken place, laboratory technicians will soak and wash the used equipment in cold water mixed with Gain antibacterial soap. Once scrubbed with soapy water, the technician rinses the clean instruments under cold water to remove the suds. Next, they will lay the tools out on a small towel in order for them to dry. While drying, the technician will walk to the back of the clinic to cut a new drape.
Safety is paramount in all things that we do; the processes that we follow, the environments that we operate in, and the status of the equipment that we use to complete our missions. Most of the equipment utilized on a daily basis is easily brought to mind during operational risk management briefs and as the evolution unfolds such as extension cords, climbing gear lanyards and stitching, insulated tools, safety glasses, hard hats, or safety boots that have a non composite toe. On the other hand there is a wide variety of equipment that is actively being used daily yet is hardly considered; one such item is electrical grade floor matting. This safety item can be found ashore and afloat throughout the Coast Guard that is silently protecting technicians and operators alike. The sole purpose of electrical grade floor matting is to remove a path to ground through an operator
* Ensure that the environment is safe, secure with high quality of hygiene practices for staff, children and their families and any member of the public while using the premises.

Give your cabinets a final wipe down by spraying the heavy duty cleaner once again.
Cleanliness of equipment and implements is the most important step to preventing nail infections and cross contamination. Tools/implements such as nail clippers, cuticle cutters, files, etc. should be cleaned and disinfected using an EPA Registered Hospital Level Disinfectant that is effective against Hepatitis B or is Tuberculocidal. One of the most effective methods for cleaning implements is the use of an ultrasonic cleaner. While this device is usually capable of working with delicate items, some pieces of equipment may have instructions regarding immersion in water or exposure to specific cleaning solutions. Before placing any implement/tool into the ultrasonic cleaner, refer to the manufacturer and inquire whether or not this is a suitable option, as well as what cleaning solutions are most appropriate for the tools being cleaned. If the workplace will need to switch between multiple solutions, or operate multiple ultrasonic cleaners simultaneously, the solutions currently in each cleaner should be clearly marked and all employees briefed on which tools are associated with which cleaner. This will help ensure that tools are not harmed by the cleaning
