Myth #1: Do volcanoes emit more CO2 than humans?:
I've heard this argument against the existence of climate change several times from climate change "deniers". The assertion is that since volcanoes emit so much CO2, it makes the human emissions from fossil fuels a negligible force, so therefore, it makes sense to continue to burn them as they are profitable and essentially harmless compared to the mighty volcano.
The actual scientific measurements of CO2 emissions, however, are:

The natural carbon cycle always needed the CO2 contributions of volcanic eruptions, which was the right amount for plants to take up during photosynthesis. On the other hand, human emissions rapidly inject CO2 into the atmosphere that originated in deposits that had been locked out of the carbon cycle for hundreds of millions of years, which unlike the carbon cycle, does not have a way to remove the excess CO2. Furthermore, humans remove plant life for fossil fuel projects, as well as causes deforestation of the planet, thus stripping away natural carbon sinks such as living trees. When I have more time, I try to make sure I know the subject thoroughly, and can remember what I have learned. I am seriously interested in environmental concerns and would spend far more time on it if I could. In fact, I would prefer a career on that path if not for the fact it is out of reach for me, so wish I could take another class after this one that further explored the natural
In Dayton Duncan’s New York Times op-ed “Are We Loving Our National Parks to Death” he brings up the argument about how we are not preserving our national parks like we use to when they were first established. Duncan also tells us that climate change is affecting some of the national parks. Climate change is man made and we need to change our ways or the future generations won't be able to see some of the national parks. Scientists today are more certain, than what they have been in the past, that climate change is man made. Climate change causes natural disasters to happen more frequently and makes them hit harder. When trees are burned, CO2 is relinquished. The burning of astronomically immense areas of trees is known as deforestation. Human activities integrate more CO2 into the atmosphere through activities like the burning of fossil fuels. The guiding question of this investigation is, “Which carbon cycle process affects atmospheric carbon the most?” The researchers initially wanted to learn 2 things. First, the researchers wanted to learn how much carbon engenderment there would be if they incremented the amount of fossil fuels burnt by a certain amount. Recent scientific evidence indicates that humans have upset the carbon cycle, leaving more carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases in the atmosphere. Burning fossil fuels such as oil and natural gas, burning biomass such as ethanol and wood, creating cement and releasing other chemicals into the atmosphere is upsetting the natural flow of carbon.
Trench warfare is a type of land warfare used by the military in large trenches to shoot the enemies. The most popular of trench warfare is the western front used in WW1. The defenders had more of an advantage in trench warfare because they were protected by barbed wire and mines and the enemies could not see them. The soldiers lived in the trenches and it was very terrifying. They were constantly prone to getting diseases and always in fear of an enemy attack.

While it is true that humans have not been the sole contributors to climate change, Moore significantly downplays the impact that humans have had on the climate. The overwhelming, international, peer reviewed scientific consensus is that recent human activity has caused an unprecedented increase in global warming (“Climate Change: How do we know?”). Moore’s characterization of humanity’s impact on climate change omits important data and research to spin a misleading narrative on climate change.
The author is questioning the connection between the obligation a state holds to protect the livelihood and property of its citizens, and whether denying to “address” climate change makes them liable for the negative effects it has on their citizens. If refusal to mediate climate change, on an international level, constitute as neglect of state duty when climate change has a direct impact on people’s lives. The rights issue is lies between the right to state sovereignty and the rights of individuals to protection and well-being.
