Everyone has their own unique beliefs and motives that push them through their lives. I have many different beliefs instilled in me that mold my day to day life. These beliefs have been formed either by learning from my parents, or by personal experiences. One major conviction of mine is the pursuit of happiness. There are many ways to strive for happiness, and all people are unique in the fact that no one shares the same goals. My happiness comes from a core of beliefs. Religion is an extremely important part of my life, and I can thank my mother and father for that. Another belief of mine is that hard work pays off; in many situations I have been shown that a good work ethic goes a long way in being successful. I also believe in being an optimist throughout life’s trials and tribulations. Many things can upset me in day to day experiences; however, I believe it to be crucial to obtain a joyous attitude. These beliefs have become priorities to me and carry me through my life, and help me to succeed.
To begin with, religion is one aspect of my life that I could not be happy without. My brothers and I have formed this conviction in the Lord from being taught the right way. My father is the minister at Sims Hill Christian Church and he has always taken us to every church service held as long as we were able. It has always been a priority in the Jones’ household to read the Bible and to present ourselves in the correct manner. Without God, the pursuit of happiness
We view religion as our foundation on which we are to rest and put our lives into. Without religion, we are nothing and that is something I cherish wholeheartedly because I’ve been shaped into a person my family can be proud of.
Worldview is one’s way of knowing and it is the foundation for interpreting both language and culture. Dr. Smart, my professor of anthropology, emphasized the insider’s perspective to be crucial when understanding others. It was this lecture that we dissected the Chinese character for family (家) into its individual radicals, and the deeply intertwined nature of language, culture, and worldview became apparent. Influential professors like Dr. Smart have inspired me to pursue teaching within a cultural context and have reignited my childhood fascination with Japan. Thus, I am applying for the Assistant Language Teacher (ALT) Position in the JET Program. JET would afford me the incredible opportunity to combine my interest in Japan with my desire to teach. As an ALT, I will work to understand the world from my students’ perspectives while building a capability in crafting learning experiences unique for each student.
Therefore, the beliefs we have in life have a huge effect in how we face our adversities, and behave. I can use myself, and my personal religious beliefs as an example of it. My religious background from my family is based in Christian Catholic, but also form Spiritism. The Spiritism is not a official religion, it is a spiritualistic doctrine based on the studies of Allan Kardec, that is why is called Kardecist Spiritualism Doctrine.
I have never been asked a more challenging question than “what is your core belief?”. I know what motivates me and I know what I am passionate about, but what I truly believe was tough. I spent about two weeks trying to figure it out and I what I truly believe in is happiness. Maybe that is not an answer that one would expected, but at the root of every belief that I have happiness exist. Happiness is what motivates me the most.
The studies showed that religious people are happier overall, have a better relationship with family members, and are more likely to be more involved in the community. Another important study showed that believing in God, gratitude, forgiveness, and honesty are the top essentials of what it means to be a Catholic, or a Christian in a broader sense. This article also states that beliefs are linked with actions, for instance a more religious person tends to be more honest, or more app to help people in times of need. Whether it is everyday life or focusing on a better life, religion can greatly
Religion is an important part in many people’s life. Although some people are not strongly religious, they still have a religion
When I was five years old, I remember that my grandmother would always tell me to pick up after myself. I was not heavily involved in any chores at this age, but I was required to clean up the play area when I was done playing with my toys. My room had three clear plastic containers, where I would store all of my toys. Since, the storage containers were big, cleaning up and putting all my toys away was a breeze. At the age of nine, I remember that my responsibilities were much greater. At this age, I was responsible for having all my homework done before my father came home from work. I was also responsible for cleaning my entire room. This meant that I would have to fix my bed, sweep the floors, take my dirty clothes back to the laundry room, and keep my dresser looking clean. At the age of thirteen, my responsibilities only grew greater. At this age, I was responsible for mowing the lawn and keeping my front year looking clean. I also remember that my father would give me six to seven dollars for washing and vacuuming his car. Although my responsibilities grew greater, I enjoyed it.
Living in such a religious household, I grew up with a mentality strongly based on those beliefs, whether it concerned society, personal behavior, or sexual orientation, and relied on my religion to tell me what was right and what was wrong.
For the majority of my life, I had been shy, even though it didn’t seem like it most of the time, I was scared to death when I met new people. I know that it sounds extremely trivial, but I feel that when you first meet someone, you’re ultimately giving them their first impression of yourself and that is a lot of pressure. It seemed almost certain that I would lead a life of being a social wallflower until March 2017, more specifically, March 28th, 2017. This day was and still is important to me because I learned how to be confident, and through my experience, it taught me something that I will hold onto forever. Prior to this day, I was an extremely introverted person and rarely went out of my way to make friends. As a volunteer at day
Within each and every individual lies a set of beliefs that help set the foundation and fundamentals of his or her existence. My mom always says “Amigos son un peso en el bolsillo” In other words, friends are there one day and gone by the other, just like money. Moreover, the English equivalent is ‘fair weather friends’. I have to admit that I did not always agree with my mother. However, at the time I moved from Puerto Rico to Texas my perspective on friendships changed. There may be some people who believe that friends are forever, but, because of my past experience that has led me to believe that real friends do not exist.
Your beliefs one of the main causes you wake up in the morning and go to school, go to work or live your life. Beliefs are very connected to your wishes, for when you say "I wish I could all my grades about the nineties" you start believing in yourself.
Throughout history, scholars and researchers have tried to identify the factors drive people to believe in religion. Many unconscious factors arise for reasons behind Religion. While many people find joy and serenity in their religious activities because of ethical teachings other reasons people engage in their faith become apparent in society. A steadily growing body of evidence from the psychology and the social sciences demonstrate that many people’s belief in religion link to psychological and social factors. Psychologically, religion supports people’ need to have personal control over in their lives and reduces anxiety in the events that are out of their control. Sociologically, people want fellowship with others that are in line with their view and look for affirmation in their beliefs from others. Belief in God is dominant and prevalent in contemporary American society. Often many people believe that reasons behind religion come naturally, but social and psychological factors play an influential role in reasons for religion.
As a working mother, after leaving the home, I keep on thinking about my baby. Sometime I scare if something wrong goes to him. It is very difficult to concentrate my mind. I wish I will play with him whole day, can spend my time taking care him all the possible ways that I can make him a fun. While returning back to home my concern again start the same way, playing with him and make him happy as much as I can. But when I reach home, I hug him, kiss him and stay with him for a while and forget his importance and start the house errands that I need to do. Without doing something, I will have empty stomach and the messy surroundings. Even in the busy schedule, I have been addicted to update my blog and Facebook post. Someone thinks I am really an outrage.
Ok so I needed a little help to focus my thoughts so I used google and found a blog that was very helpful. The writer Kat Lee said, "one of my greatest fears in life is that I will be the same person at 76 that I am at 36; that I will have the same hangups as an older woman that I had as a younger woman." I think that is my same fear. When I moved to Oklahoma I wanted to reinvent myself, I didn 't want to be the same girl with the same hangups both in life and spiritually. I thought new place fresh start.
