My teaching philosophy is to create an environment that stimulates learning so that students gain the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to become proficient professionals. While teaching foundational knowledge is important, there are other essential skills and abilities that students must acquire in order to successfully transition from being a student to becoming a physical therapy professional. These skills and abilities include thinking critically as well as interacting and communicating effectively with patients and other health care practitioners. I emphasize to students that it is imperative to realize the impact of developing a therapeutic rapport with patients while providing quality, patient-centered care to optimize the healing process. Therefore, when deciding what to teach, I not only consider the content presented, but also how I can foster discussions with students so that they can apply information based on varying contextual factors. I also attempt to provide students a framework for how to achieve professional excellence, which I aim to model as I fulfill my roles and responsibilities as a teacher and provider of clinical instruction. This framework is rooted in five central tenets:
• Practicing lifelong learning
• Promoting engaged and meaningful educational interactions, including communicating as a member of an interprofessional team
• Inspiring critical thinking
• Establishing clear expectations and effectively communicating
• Responding
Striving for excellence through determination is essentially beneficial for the student as well as classmates and patients. The end goal of a physical therapy program is to equip students with important knowledge about the field to effectively treat each patient in a safe and informative manner. A patient’s health and well-being is relied heavily upon the therapist’s knowledge while being treated. Optimizing each learning opportunity as a student is critical in becoming a professional and well-educated physical therapist upon
I see students as the next generations’ heroes in so many fields. In my vision, I have to inspire students and prepare them with confidence, knowledge, experience and skills. Which means I encourage, communicate, guide, teach, and assess students in order to enrich their infrastructures.
Learn to Teach, Learn to Learn. / Use the past to teach the future ( That is my philosophy)
I believe that ``A tax on gained knowledge is to disseminate it by teaching," which leads to the unlimited expansion of knowledge. My principle philosophy about teaching is that it is a holy message to deliver knowledge to anyone who seeks it, and this concept should make learning an enjoyable experience. My practical teaching philosophy mainly depends on four elements: {\bf knowledge}, {\bf encouragement}, {\bf contemplation}, and {\bf excellence}. The acquisition and ongoing quest for and to share {\bf knowledge} is key for any successful teacher. The {\bf encouragement} of student interaction is necessary for success in learning, especially the encouragement of a student’s {\bf contemplation} on how to expand their knowledge based on the material and always be thinking about new ways to solve problems. This process and involvement can only lead to academic {\bf excellence}. I can contribute to the success and happiness of students through the practical implication of the four elements of my teaching philosophy. My ongoing quest for knowledge will allow me to deeply interact with the class materials and student, and communicate with them on their level of understanding. This balance between the knowledge of the instructor and knowing the students’ needs will allow for the appropriate level of challenge to maintain interest in the class.\\
As an aspiring teacher, education is very important to me. Education is the foundation on which society is built upon and it plays a major role in everyday life. It also provides opportunities to advance through society and succeed in life. Each teacher has his or her own unique goals that he or she strives to achieve in the classroom. I view all areas of education with a large degree of relevance, but specifically target broadening my students’ knowledge and advancing their communication skills. Knowledge and communication will aid students and help them grow as they continue their education. I will reach my goals of proficient knowledge and adequate communication in my classroom by efficiently communicating with colleagues and students and conforming my technique to each student’s individual needs.
Clinical education in physical therapy curriculum is very important to future practitioners for demonstrating the effective clinical teaching practices to ensure that the students learn skills, knowledge and behaviors which are essential for entry into practice. Clinical education can only be achieved by bridging academic education and clinical practice, introducing students to the real environment of the profession and reflecting knowledge, skills and professional behaviors by managing patients during the clinical affiliations.1 The goal of the clinical education is to apply academic skills, knowledge and to provide an environment that fosters student’s professionalism and encourages the development of skilled as well as competent entry-level practitioner. Therefore, clinical education is important as “real learning’’ in physical therapy, which occurs in the clinical setting.
The learning experience should be that of a collective nature where students are able to indiscriminately relate to the information, re-teach the information and have a balanced incorporation of all the learning centers in society; including the home and the church. The goal of this incorporation is to create a balanced learning environment that facilitates holistic development in the young mind. As professionals entrusted with the shaping of young minds, teachers must facilitate learning and personal, spiritual, ethical and academic development. My philosophy for education is a multi-part philosophy that encapsulates the idea of holistic and inclusive learning. The philosophy caters for the overall shaping and development of the young mind and includes aspects of balanced training, incorporated teachings and it generally focuses on training students to become teachers.
Some people say that a teaching career is the most valuable among hundreds of jobs because it can transfer knowledge from generation to generation; however, it is definitely not easy to become a good teacher; everybody needs to spend a lot of time to prepare themselves with knowledge coming from books and society so that teachers can link their lectures to real life. Thus, many subjects and skills for teaching are studied such as cross-cultural communication, literature, and even making presentations. For me, the subject that helps me the most in teaching is teaching practice covering how to teach students and how to face problems during a lesson.
How does a good teacher be awarded such a title? What exactly defines a good teacher? Did they not give homework on Fridays or were they the one who helped you finally understand calculus? Either way, they most likely exhibited a complex understanding of the pedagogical competencies along with a development of their own. They had a clear understanding of what their wanted to accomplish, defined their style, and can intertwine static and dynamic content. They also learned how to effectively communicate, while also working to perfect their skills. The competencies are the backbone to an effective style of teaching.
There are many reasons why people go into the profession of being a teacher. While the reasons may vary one thing should remain the same with us all and that is our passion for working with children. However, if you do not have the passion to work with children each day then it can be easy for one to burn out. To become a teacher you must not be afraid to inspire and encourage the children that you are teaching. In addition to, if you are constantly tired and exhausted than it is harder for you to be able to motive your students. My philosophy of education is that every child should have the right to learn and receive a quality education while in a safe and inspiring environment
Cultural and linguistic diversity is increasing in places all over the world at a remarkable rate. As the world becomes connected through language, it has become increasingly important to build an understanding and openness to different cultures and languages. Just as each student brings their own background knowledge and talents to the classroom, each teacher brings their own experiences that have shaped their philosophies of teaching. In a world filled with beautiful places to wander to, experiencing new cultures and languages has become a love and passion of mine. Combined with my devotion to the education field and my personal life experiences, a desire to teach in the TESOL career field was one that came quite easily. My mother was
In a world where educators are undervalued, undermined, and underpaid, it is imperative that teachers are in tune with their own beliefs about their purpose in a career that often lacks appreciation. This collection of beliefs is essential to combat the numerous citizens that are ignorant to the significance of the demanding role that educators fulfill in society. American educators dedicate their lives to the wellbeing of the general public by instilling essential information into the minds of children and adolescents, with the expected consequence that these students will be able to function and thrive in society. As a future educator, therefore, I believe that to take on the daunting task of shaping the nation’s future citizens will
Teaching is among the most intricate, eternal and beautiful professions and as a visionary and cultural leader I know that education transcends time and place, deriving much from both social, cultural context and individual style. I am committed to continuously improve my practices with the desire that my leading example instills in my students and colleagues the passion and enthusiasm for learning and teaching. I am a dedicated, resourceful educational professional who consistently take part in training opportunities designed to strength and improve educator’s pedagogical skills, monitor policies and practices that promote a safe learning environment.
I have received help from many people in my past twenty-four years of life. My parents raised me, my teachers guided me, and my friends encouraged me. Not to even mention the kindness I received from random strangers on the streets. I am grateful that the world showed me her bright side, and it would mean more than anything for me to be able to pass on the kindness as much as I can. I want to repay society with my own kindness, and influence people with my genuineness. Moreover, I consistently endeavour to do things I am interested in and I hope to contribute to society within the best of my ability. This is how I visualize my life as meaningful and fulfilled.
I never thought of wanted to become a teacher in the future. All I was thinking of was to become a police officer or even a doctor to help and find a cure for my illness, which is a Rheumatic Heart Disease (RHD). From the previous education courses that I took including practicums, I now know how valuable teacher encouragement and motivation is for personal motivation. Witnessing a lot of fun that teachers have with their students makes me want to teach already. I look forward to motivate young ones through challenging yet supportive lessons and assignments. From my Education 215 course, I found out that all students are capable of learning, Never thought that a deaf or blind students can learn, but thank goodness that there’s always a way to teach them. So, my goal for my future classroom is to teach my students to become the best as they can be. Although Teaching is a life-long process and I hope to provide a fun and learning experience for each child.
