A New Person Click. Click. Click. Went the gloss black video game controller buttons. As I played everyday after school, the virtual world was not giving me what I was looking for. I felt like something was missing. Was it better grades in school? No. Was it more friends in school? No. Was it a job? Maybe. Was it to be motivated and to become a hard worker? I think so. The next day my dad introduced the idea that we should start flipping houses. This was the first time that I was actually excited and nervous to do something. It was a big risk, but in the end those risks usually pay off. Although flipping houses with my dad was something I wasn’t sure about, it changed me to become a hard worker. First of all, finding the right house was …show more content…
My aching shoulders felt relieved as I would not have to scrap a thing again. Then came the fun part; making the house look great again. We primed every long piece of wood until we finally reached the last one. My dad showed me the right techniques on how to make it look the best and not leave any drip marks. After finishing painting the outside in a light gray with dark accents on the dormers, we moved onto the inside. Immediately grabbing the sledge hammer, we started destroying the hard plaster walls. The dust was so heavy the whole entire room filled up with thick white clouds. Even with a mask on, it still went down my throat leaving it as dry as a desert. After spending a few hours picking up plaster from the floor, I was left with an aching back. My dad told me “ With hard work comes pain, but a great result.” Then I removed the old water stained hardwood floor; the smell was unforgettable. Now the outdated golden wood cabinets and white appliances needed to go. With each hit of the cabinets, tiny chunks of wood went flying, I think the house was already starting to look much better. I could start picturing the new kitchen in my mind. After the house was down to the studs, it was time to put it all back together. With all the things that I’ve learned so far, there was still so much to do and learn; starting with hanging the drywall. This was a simple task that just took a long time to do. After a few weeks, the whole house had walls again.
Propaganda is evident in various media to show biased information to change a person’s viewpoint, including William Shakespeare’s Macbeth and the film Iron Man directed by Jon Favereau. Iron Man features an owner of a weapons company named Tony Stark turning into a superhero. Macbeth is about a Scottish general who becomes king. Macbeth and Iron Man demonstrate the technique of card stacking by altering and avoiding giving information to achieve status to attain a position of power.
Today we remodel our sod house. We are buting 12-inches wide and 4-inches thick brick 25 on the house. The walls are going to be 2 1/2-ft thick and 3 1/2 feet high 26. Next the door frame itis made out of wood 27. The roof is made of sawed wood. The roof was made up of 2x6s for a ridge post, 2x4s for rafters, and wood sheathing nailed over the rafters 28. That is how we made the house now it is not so cramped in here. My dad feels like he’s on top of the world 29.
With the shovel, he dug a frame to place the blocks correctly in by 6x6 dig. Then came time to build, two Minecraft hours later, after building, the house was finished. The only thing that was missing was some windows, made by smelting sand, a bed, made by crafting three wool and wood, and a wooden door, so he ran to the nearest
Needing to see more of the house, I started descending the curved staircase. I stopped halfway down the staircase and savored the view. My eyes wandered around to the rooms that I would no longer use. Rooms that were once filled with people and belongings were now piled high with
Then she began checking the other rooms. The second bath, down the hall, needed updating as well. There were three more bedrooms on the second floor. The room she used, the one her parents used, and a third guest room. These all needed minor repairs, refinishing the wood floors and giving the walls a fresh coat of paint.
Then I painted the walls grey as after I cleared off the walls we noticed that there was a giant amount of graffiti as well as exposed wood. The painting took quite a while as it was very difficult to cover up the old nail holes. I had a terrible time finding space for all of the tools elsewhere in the shop. This created an obstacle, as I was forced to stack to the ceiling and then paint half of the wall at a time. It took me about all of a monday to complete this task. This would have gone faster had I possessed a roller. I was limited on funding and limited on paint choice. I recycled some oil based grey and some water based grey. I also learned that oil based is not good for use inside. I began to notice fumes that the evacuation fans could not hold up to. I learned on this project so far to do my best with limited supplies. I then began to finish assembly of the rack that I made. The steel tubing that I used had a lot of oil all over it so the cleanup process was lengthened. I have started to clean up my rack for paint and primer.
Anyway, just after two days of the decision, our house immediately began to be packed up. Everything we owned had to be stuffed into the smallest amount of boxes possible. When you start to pack up your room, let alone your whole house, you start to realize how much stuff you really have. As a nine year old sitting on my bedroom floor, this task seemed impossible to accomplish.
372. That is the number of mass shootings in the United States in the 2015 alone. Out of that 372, 64 were school shootings. Ever since the Columbine mass shooting in April of 1999 the country’s laws and regulations regarding gun control and how to prevent these horrible tragedies have been a highly debated topic. As more and more innocent lives are lost it is clear that something must be done to put a stop to not only mass shootings, but gun violence in general. The most recent solution, proposed specifically to decreased gun violence on college campuses is campus carry. Campus carry is allowing people to carry concealed firearms on college campuses (Doubleday). Many states have already put campus carry into effect, and many people are in favor of the law, stating that by allowing students and teachers to carry concealed firearms on campus would decrease the amount of shooting and make the campuses safer. On the other hand, that is a large majority of people against the law, arguing that college students can
After moving into a new house, it can be very exciting to figure out how to turn the house into an actual home. Oftentimes, the process happens when decor begins to fill the space.
In this paper I am going to argue that voters are not more polarized; in fact, v are moderates forced to vote polarized. I arrived at this conclusion after reading the assigned readings, “It’s Even Worse than It Looks, Moral Politics, Big Sorting and Culture Wars.”
I began to organize the last room. It was a lot easier than I first thought. I had already scrubbed and cleaned the walls and floors. The tree was up too. I unpacked the balance of the decorations and tree ornaments on the couch. Sorted

Luckily, cleanup was almost as quick and easy as tearing everything apart through our entrance. A few of the witches and wizards present used cleaning spells that caused the room to pick itself up, the vases returning to the shelves and the pictures returning to the walls. The table was finally in working condition again, and once everything was set, we calmly took our places at the table.
Oh my goodness....... I am learning so much as I am beginning to remove the walls inside the house.
Remodeling began that very day. Using a sledgehammer, everyone took a turn smashing the east wall of the living room. They ripped a huge hole into the wall, taking turns hopping back
