Almost everyone has dreams of becoming someone whether that's being a lawyer, doctor, or even a engineer. Accomplishment, determination, and success are the three main words that give us the ability and strength to achieve everything that we hope we can wish for. There is not a day when people think that failure may happen because that is what frightens us the most. To be honest all that stress is worth it because it leads to a brighter future for myself. I know that as long as I put in all the effort into my work, I will be able to succeed.

In the first months of college, I wasn’t so sure if I wanted to pursue architecture, finance, or engineering; I was utterly lost, unlike many of my peers. Over the months, I pondered on what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Then, I realized I was never interested in obtaining a job where I would sit at a desk and stare at some numbers on a computer screen for 9 hours every day. Through my daily routine and utilization of time, I realized I found less joy in the courses I applied least outside of the classroom, yet was intrigued that with the many hours I worked in the studio. I could work on a skill in which I could use in the career I wanted; a path in which I could leave a legacy through molding the world the way I wanted to see

In today’s society, a good quality education is an important and valuable necessity. As a college student at Lone Star College, my college experience has greatly influenced me in an enormous amount of ways. By attending college, I have not only had a chance to receive a quality education and degree, but also an opportunity to socialize and interact with various people from different cultures. In addition, the professors on campus have been extremely helpful towards teaching me to succeed in both inside and outside the class room. Furthermore, my college experience at Lone Star has greatly influenced and encouraged me to be successful and achieve my dream of becoming a doctor.

I’ve lived on Long Island my whole life. As a child, I was only allowed to explore in a mile radius of my house. The only time I saw the outside world was when I finished my ridiculously hard homework before dark. When I did visit the city, it was always with my parents. I wasn’t allowed to go anywhere by myself, for the fear that I would get lost. When I was given the opportunity to experience the city by myself with thousands of other teens around the world, I took it immediately. I could explore the city, my own New York, by myself.

The Midtown Lofts apartment complex pool was closed for the season. The groundskeeper who was making his final round for the week when he noticed something rather someone floating near the shallow end. Horrified he tore across the pool deck and through the courtyard to find help. He found the apartment manager who then proceeded to call 911.

Business is a growing major and currently the most common major among college students. Being a business major at a liberal arts college is underappreciated amongst the students because they see courses as unnecessary towards their future careers. The question of “what a college education should provide” arises. Education is important but it is also important to learn how survive in the world and contribute to it. Embodied in the Beaux Art building on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Forty-Second Street in Manhattan, the flagship building is synonymous with everything that makes New York City, a world-class metropolis, known the world over. It is big, imposing spacious, and an architectural wonder. The majestic lions, Patience and Fortitude guard the Stephan A Schwarzman building, as it now known are equally emblematic and as famous as the institution, which they guard itself.
