In the Ted talk entitled “ My Invention That Made Peace with Lions,” Richard Turere discusses the importance of livestock to his community. Turere says that “My community, the Maasai, we believe that we came from heaven with all our animals and all the land for herding them, and that's why we value them so much.” All African communities value their livestock and are heartbroken when they are killed by lions. Turere created a device called the “Transformer”. It’s a light flashes in different patterns to resemble a human. Lions are scared of moving lights because they think that it’s a person with a flashlight walking by the livestock. Lions are scared of human because they think they might be killed if humans are around them. Turere states that
