ood development I have learned so many things that will help benefit my future career as a Registered Nurse working to become a Midwife or Obstetrician/Gynecologist . As well as my life in general, as I want to be a mother one day. In this class, I have been able to walk away with so much new information. I have been taught the 7 styles of learning, which consist of; Visual (spatial), Aural (auditory-musical), Verbal (linguistic), Physical (kinesthetic), Solitary (intrapersonal), Social (interpersonal), and Logical (Mathematical). I also learned about each one of the theorists and how they studied development stages and found growth stages within themselves. The theorists are, along with their stage, Behaviorists; Pavlov, Thorndike, Watson, Bandura, and Skinner. Attachment & Bonding; Bowlby, Ainsworth, and Harlow. Stage; Piaget, Erickson, Freud, and Kohlberg. Constructivists; Vygotsky, Montessori, Bruner, and Dewey. Language; Chomsky and Gesell. Play; Smilansky, Elkind, and Spencer. As well as the stages of development, and how within each stage you grow, and move into the next stage. The stages consist of; Prenatal/Newborn, Infancy, Toddler, Early-Childhood, Middle- Childhood, and Adolescent. Within the syllabus it list some of the goals/topics that you wanted us to learn. And as for me I feel I have learned all of the desired topics. Of course I enjoyed some more than others, and may understand them a little more than the ones I didn 't enjoy as much. But the best thing
My long term career goal is to be a neonatal nurse and work in the newborn intensive care unit in the next 5 - 10 years.
In the book Anthem by Ayn Rand the city has several rules that everyone must follow or they will be held to serious consequences. These rules exist for many reasons even though some of them are a little extreme. The rules do have a lot of purposes, many are to keep the community safe. The City Council has created many rules and restrictions for things and there is a possibility of execution if you break or don’t follow one of those rules.
There are several reasons why I chose to further my education in the medical field. The experience that I gained was very valuable as a LARA - Nurse Aide. Among the things that I’ve learned include OBRA and OSHA regulations. This is important because it helped me to complete my job optimally on a daily basis. I really enjoy helping others and becoming a CNA was the first step of my medical career with 51 CNA classes. Moreover, I have increased my income and today I have the career of my dreams.
The career I chose is a Neonatal Nurse. According to an article on work.chron.com, there are three levels of neonatal nursing. A level 1 neonatal nursery offers care to healthy newborns. A level 2 neonatal nursery holds infants born prematurely or with an illness. A level 3 neonatal nursery, usually called a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), provides care to infants who are premature, brutally ill or too small. Infants admitted to a NICU may require ventilators, incubators or surgery. (Williams) The duties of a Neonatal Nurse include holding and comforting newborns, changing their diapers, feeding them and ensuring they gain the appropriate amount of weight, giving them the correct medication and the correct amount and
There are five theories of development which are psychoanalytical, behaviorism, cognitive, socio-cultural, and epigenetic (Santrock). These theories help develop an outline from which to explain the patterns and problems of development (Berger). I am only going to discuss two of these which are psychoanalytical and behavioral.
There are many theories into how children develop and how they learn. These are extremely important as they can be applied to modern strategies used for child behaviours. Presently, learning theories are placed into 3 categories:
My selected career would be an OB/GYN or something in the medical field. I am very interested in that career because it's inspiring how someone can have such a huge impact on people's lives. I became interested in being in the medical field at a very young age, and it is a huge goal of mine to stay true to my dream. From being at doctors offices and hospitals monthly and sometimes weekly when I was in elementary school, I am very used to being around doctors and medicine.
The word notorious according to Merriam-Webster.com means to be well known for something bad (Webster). To many people this meaning may conjure images of Emperor Nero fiddling as Rome burns, or remind them of Hitler. Hatred emerges for many when they are reminded of people like Queen Mary Tudor or Genghis Khan. Their actions arguably have changed the course of history. We all know and hate these people, perhaps not as much as those who lived under their rule or influence. But we all have one thing in common. We agree they are the most Notorious people to ever walk the earth, but never question how they came to be so cruel, heartless, and insane. This paper will go deeper into the minds of Mary Tudor and Genghis Khan by comparing how their childhood experiences built upon their infamous deeds to prove that their experience with their father’s, denial of rule, and tough childhood lead to them receiving the reputation of being notorious.
As time went on, so did my knowledge about obstetrics and gynecology. I was able to quickly pick up important keys into the development of the first stages of life. To add on, I identified I was strong in the area of patient care due to my recent experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). As holding a position as a CNA, I was ahead of the game in many aspects and it really helped me to understand the basic knowledge of OB
The two concepts that I resonated with are Memory and the Psychodynamic theory. Starting with the Psychodynamic theory is an approach to psychology that studies the psychological forces underlying human behavior, feelings, and emotions, and how they may relate to early childhood experience. This theory is most closely associated with the work of Sigmund Freud, and with psychoanalysis, a type of psychotherapy that attempts to explore the patient’s unconscious thoughts and emotions so that the person is better able to understand him or herself. The second one is Memory; understanding how memory works will help you improves your memory. Which is an essential key to attaining knowledge. Memory is one of the important cognitive processes. Memory involves remembering and forgetting. I chose the two concepts because throughout the class they stood out to the most. Understanding the conscious, subconscious mind and also memory. I’m interested in understanding the human behavior.
During the years of 2000 and 2050, the overall population of the elderly population is anticipated to rise by 135%.
Analysis of the three identified stages stated on the lesson planner shall take place within this assignment. Links will be shown between the teaching methods that were incorporated in this lesson planner which met particular learning characteristics, traits and needs of the group or an individual(s) and relevant educational and theoretical principles. The lesson planner has been placed in the appendices, as a referral resource, for this assignment.
I am currently a Pre-nursing major and will be attending Indiana University Bloomington in the fall. My career aspirations are to get a bachelor’s degree in nursing and continue my education to become a midwife.
Every night, as I sat on the table with my younger brothers assisting them with their homework, I hear a familiar sound at the door. As she walks her heels click, and I can hear her searching her bag for her keys, the next thing I know the keys are in the lock and as it turns me and my younger brothers’ jump. We run to the door and indeed we scream in unison “Mommy’s home”, one by one she gives us a hug and a kiss. My mother asks us how our day was, and if we finished our homework, she then looks to me and said “did you cook and assist your younger ones with their homework”; I replied “yes mom”. As I warm the food, I take my mother’s purse, jacket, and shoes put them away and prepare the table for her to eat dinner. As I glance at the
