My Dream Job Becoming a Pediatrician Through the years I have had many what I call “JOE” jobs ones that just paid the bills. If I could turn back the time too when I was just starting ninth grade in high school and could start all over again I would want to be a Pediatrician. This job would combine my love for children and the challenges to keep them happy healthy and safe. I think any job that helps children is a job worth struggling for, and yes becoming a Pediatrician would be a struggle. I would have to invest a lot of my time in college, medical school, residency and this cost lots of money. But there is also the positive the children you would be helping would be well worth the struggles I would have to make and then there is the money. Being Pediatricians I would make good money. To start my dream job, I will have to get good grades in high school, but also take special classes, like biology, chemistry, physics, algebra, geometry, calculus if possible, English, a foreign language. Get involved in high school charity organizations, like the Key Club, and extracurricular programs like student government, music programs, and sports. (Becoming a Pediatrician n.d.) Then theirs collage I would need to get into the best 4-year college my grades would allow. The better school more likely I am to get into medical school. It generally doesn't matter whether it is a big school or small school - just a good school. When they’re I will need to take the "Premed" curriculum
“What do you want to be when you grow up?” As a child, we have all been asked this question; and as unrealistic children, we all had dreams of being a superhero, princess, cowboy, or astronaut. Later on in life, as time went by, and as we became more knowledgeable, our answers became more serious. Some of us wanted to be teachers, business owners, or a veterinarian. However, I have always wanted to be a doctor, but not just any doctor. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a pediatrician. Now, half way through my junior year in high school, I have started to question the details of this career, and all the hard work it takes to become a part of the medical field.
My decision to become a pediatrician allows to me combine to two most things I love: children and academics. Children have always played an important role in my life. For example, I enjoyed babysitting little children. I enjoy playing with them and seeing how children can be so creative at a young age. Similarly, academics have always played an major role in my life also. My parents would always stress
Since then, I've been looking at different universities that will benefit me while being able to further my education. Some of the main courses needed include biology, chemistry, and physics. While attending school, I plan on volunteering a near hospital or something along those lines to gain some knowledge and experience. After receiving a bachelor's degree, it is required to continue into a 4 year in medical school. In the first 2 years, classes will consist of anatomy, pathology, pharmacology, and biochemistry.
I would like to go into the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner career field. Pediatric Nurse Practitioners help Pediatricians and other Physicians diagnose and take care of children from infancy to young adults. I have grown up with ten siblings and many more cousins, so I have learned how to deal with children of all ages. Also, I have been interested in the medical field since I was a little girl and I have always loved to help people. I would have liked to be a Pediatrician but I would prefere not be in school for another thirteen years, so I found that the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner was the perfect career for me.
Every second of my life has already been predestined by myself. I have made a plan for myself and I don't plan on straying from that plan any time soon. Part of my plan is to finish high school and get my diploma. Every year I have been taking initiative and running for class president. I’ve applied for IB English, IB Spanish, Honors Math III, Honors Chem, AP History, Nursing and Jrotc.
A pediatric nurse would be the career for me because I work well with children and I find that helping children makes me happy. Being a pediatric nurse has many duties and personal characteristics needed; such as working with children and getting along with them easily. Being a pediatric nurse also requires many years of studying and also many costs, but in the end the wages and benefits make up for it. The work setting and employment outlook are looking good for the upcoming years. Having a career as a pediatric nurse requires a lot of responsibilities and duties but I feel that because I am hard working and easily get along with children this would be the right career for me.
As a young child growing up in Africa, I always dreamed of obtaining the best education and becoming a lawyer someday. But all of a sudden everything changed. Living with my grandmother and growing up with other children, my love for kids grew each and every day. I found myself always caring for people especially kids. Thus, making me more interested in Pediatric Nursing. Nursing is one of the noble careers which allows you to be there for others, to comfort them, to save lives, and to bring smiles unto the faces of people. That is what I dream of achieving. In my Psychology class, I learned that when diagnosing a patient, nurses take into consideration not only the physical state of the patient but also their mental state, because this is

Academic majors are unrelated to admission to medical school. Students must complete a four year undergraduate college program before entering medical school. After completing a four year bachelor's degree, students take four years of graduate education leading to a degree in medicine (M.D.) or osteopathy (D.O.). After receiving a medical degree, students must complete another four years in an anesthesiology residency. Some residents take one more year of study or fellowship, in a specific area of anesthesiology such as
Following medical school, almost all M.D’s or Doctorates of medicine enter a graduate medical education, which is usually in a hospital. All states require you to have a license. To be licensed, Physicians must have graduated from an accredited medical school and pass a licensing examination. Students also need to complete 1 to 7 years of graduate medical education. Although Physicians can be licensed in one state, they usually can get a license to practice in another without looking into anything further (OK Career Guide.org).
I have had a passion for becoming a healthcare provider for children for quite a while (for a long time). Children are one of the most important individuals of society because they are the future and will one day be in charge of the world. Their health at a young age is indicative to how their health will be as adults. Childhood has a great effect on how a person turns out to be so I hope to help children I hope to use prevention and education to preserve and restore the health of my patients. My career goals are to prevent children from having to spend time in hospitals or in pain and to help them live out their life and dreams to the fullest extent. Children play a very large role in their families, and when a child becomes sick, the whole family becomes distressed. Pediatricians not only heal children, but they help and prevent a family from suffering. I love medicine and children, and I hope to combine these two passions by becoming a pediatrician.
My desire to be a pediatric nurse practitioner stems from all the issues that I personally experienced as I was growing up. From the time I was two, I began experiencing febrile seizures. Being the first born, having a seizure for the first time, my parents were terrified and did not know what was happening or what to do. By the time I turned six, I had thirteen stays in the hospital all do to these seizures. It appeared that when I reached that age that I grew out of them and have been fairly healthy ever since. Besides a traumatic chicken pox experience, I have not had any major health scares. While I was too young to remember it, the stories told to me about this have left a lasting impression on me. I cannot imagine being that young
I have always been a caring person, who tries to help any one that was in need. So, as I got older the only thing that I could picture myself doing is becoming a nurse. Once I got into high school I knew for sure that nursing was the career for me. In high school, I took nursing classes which allowed me to do internship with the hospitals and shadow nurses at a local pediatric office. I spent most of my time at the pediatric office, causing me to want to become a pediatric nurse.
At the age of nine, my uncle asked me what I wanted to become when I get older. In that moment the first thing that came to my mind was a doctor. I felt pressured to choose a doctor or a lawyer due to societal views of a good career. Despite my initial thoughts about being a doctor, developed a passion for children through babysitting, and observation. Which, Inspired me to pursue medicine to become a pediatrician.
When I get older I want to have a career in kids physical therapy. I will have many struggles along the way and different things that I must accomplish to get to where I want to be in life. I know that what you think you will be as a child doesn´t always end up being what you want to put you lifes work in, but as of right now I am passionate about being a physical therapist so I am going to try as hard as I possibly can to make it happen.
