My Daily Activity Hello, everyone.... First of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Kristina Wulandari. You can call me Kristina, Tina, Kris or anything. Now, I am going to describe my daily activity. Currently, I stay with my parents in Denpasar and every day I must go to campus by motorcycle. When I have morning class on campus, I always wake up at 6 o’clock. I tidy up my bed and take a shower immediately. Afterwards, I iron my clothes that I will wear to the campus. Then, I wear my clothes soon and start to prepare things that I will bring to the campus For the breakfast, my mother often buys “nasi uduk” as an optional menu to eat. Because in the morning, there's no food in my house yet. Furthermore, I wipe my motorcycle and turn on it for a while. As all of that is ready, I may go to campus immediately. Every day when I go to campus, traffic jam is the main problem that always I find. It becomes an obstacle for me. Because there’re no vehicles that want to budge and it makes the traffic jam is getting worse. To be honest, I seldom come early to the campus. Besides my campus is site quite far from my house, traffic jam also becomes the reason that I can’t come early to the campus. Nevertheless, I always attend the class as great as I can. If the class already finish, I’ll absolutely go back to my house soon. However, if I have an appointment with some friends to do the task, I’ll stay on the campus for some time. Occasionally, I still stay in the campus to chitchat with my

The initial shock of the significant workload and expectations can take their toll, but good time management skills can prevent multiple late nights in a row to get assignments done on time. Kelci Lynn Lucier has worked in higher education for ten years, and has experienced students struggle to try and find the balance between extracurricular activities, personal activities, and education priorities. Luckily, Lucier has four tips to help best use the time provided in a day. Lucier’s first step focuses on managing ones academic time and how it needs to be the top priority above all other curricular activities, stating: “It's important to remind yourself why you're in college in the first place: to graduate” (Lucier). Lucier’s second step is be able to manage personal time, she talks about how unrealistic it is to always be working, studying, or learning, she wants students to try and find time to do something fun with friends or a club. Lucier’s third step is to wkeep the students health in mind, it does no good to stay up until two in the morning studying over a history mid-term, only to be half asleep for the test anyway; sleep is important and without can only increase the stress. Lucier’s fourth and final step is to not be afraid to seek help with your time management, she states: “The most important thing to have for time
Doing laundry, studying, eating, knowing how to manage time, being social, dealing with bad choices, and so many others are all things we have to deal with when going off to college for the first time (Pennock Title). Some of these are simple everyday things that come natural to us, like breathing, but some can be much more difficult than others. One that is rather trying is finding time to get your laundry done. Often times it’s not finding the time to do your laundry, but the resources to do so. I don’t mean if a machine is available or not, but if a machine is working or not. Having problems with machine functionality seems to be a common trend when it comes to university life.
Characterization is used to address how ignorant a person can be to his or her heritage in the short story “Everyday Use,” by Alice Walker. The author shows the way of living, of a family to display the reader the way heritage is forgotten and, or ignored. In this short story the author uses a mother, and two daughters, Dee and Maggie, to demonstrate how different the thoughts are between a family and how they honor their heritage.
In the short story Everyday Use, by Alice Walker, the short story is narrated by a black woman in the South who is faced with the decision to give away two quilts to one of her two daughters. Dee, her oldest daughter who is visiting from college, perceives the quilts as popular fashion and believes they should undoubtedly be given to her. Maggie, her youngest daughter, who still lives at home and understands the family heritage, has been promised the quilts. Dee is insistent to possess these heirlooms of family heritage, while Maggie is forbearing in allowing Mama to make her own decision as to who should receive the quilts. Dee shows a lack of appreciation, disrespect, and a distancing behavior towards her mother and sister. Mama
When we meet our narrator, the mother of Maggie and Dee, she is waiting in the yard with Maggie for Dee to visit. The mother takes simple pleasure in such a pleasant place where, "anyone can come back and look up at the elm tree and wait for the breezes that never come inside the house." (Walker 383) This is her basic attitude, the simple everyday pleasures that have nothing to do with great ideas, cultural heritage or family or racial histories. She later reveals to us that she is even more the rough rural woman since she, "can kill and clean a hog as mercilessly as a man." (Walker 383) Hardly a woman one would expect to have much patience with hanging historical quilts on a wall. Daughter Maggie is very much the
When you wake up late, only have time to brush your teeth, grab your bag and sprint half way across campus to make it to your 8 am, or lets face it even you noon classes, you will realize everyone else on campus is in the same boat. The way you dress is probably going to be the last thing on your list of To-Do’s. By the third week in, you will want to cherish every second you can to catch up on sleep or the studying you put off so you could sleep. Throwing on the closest thing possible will soon become second nature.
A symbol is a person, place, event, or object that suggests more than just its normal meaning. The symbols in this story, “Everyday Use”, were pretty clever and told a lot of clues about the story. Also Little peepholes that would dig into deeper meanings, and hints in the story.
Often siblings are brought up in the same environment and turn out completely different. This is the case in Alice Walkers, “Everyday Use”. Although two sisters, Maggie and Dee, are raised by the same woman and in the same home, their similarities end here. Both are different in their appearance, personalities, and ideas about family heritage. Each having opposing views on value and worth of the various items in their lives. Walker uses this conflict to make the point that the use of an object and of people, is more important than style.
There are many definitions to theory. According to Akers (2009) “theories are tentative answers to the commonly asked questions about events and behavior” (Akers, (2009, p. 1). Theory is a set of interconnect statements that explain how two or more things are related in two casual fashions, based upon a confirmed hypotheses and established multiple times by disconnected groups of researchers.
This is just a list of my everyday in the first few hours of the day. I can make it longer through the day and night. Can you write down on your notebook or journal a list of your everyday routine of activities? (“Routine” refers to things you do regularly or as a matter of habit.)
Typical, it is 7:31 am Monday morning and I am running late. Knowing it will take approximately twenty minutes for me to make it to 8:00 am lecture on time, I grab my book bag hastily lock my apartment door and fly down the slightly stained cement stairs. In less than sixty-seconds, I miraculously made it from the third to the first floor without falling. I congratulate myself and hop in my old reliable dusty gray, 2011 Toyota. At last, I arrive to campus just in time to park in the closest lot near the School of Nursing building making it to my first lecture of the day with ten minutes to spare. This seems like a small and normal morning routine for some, for others who do not have

Relaxation is necessary in one’s day to day active life. A person must work hard but his energy is limited, and if he spends too much of it he will soon feel tired. Even a machine cannot work for a long time at a stretch and it is given rest at regular intervals, otherwise it gets out of order. To move out of our daily hectic schedule life or more specific to relax, we need to perform several activities of our choice to get relax, which also provide amusement, benefit to us. Some of them that I follow are dancing, swimming and watching movies or watching Television.
