Glancing at him, Bilbo stood puzzled in the glen. He came forward and glared at him for some time. The Serpent knew who he is, where he came from and how he ended up here. Since Asdaha was a dwarf before and they were 14 dwarves all of them were going on the adventure but Nomi became a snake and that is why they picked Bilbo for the adventure. Gandalf had already informed the serpent that at some point you will meet a hobbit named
Bilbo meets various races along his journey to the Lonely Mountains. When the dwarves sent Bilbo up to explore the light in the forest Bilbo already wants to prove that he is a value to the group and tried to impress them. Going toward the light in the forest, he sees that there are three trolls. This is Bilbo’s acceptance of the adventure. Next Bilbo got help from a supernatural aid; a ring. He came across the ring underground in the Goblins territory right before he encountered Gollum. The ring turned out to be Gollum’s and was very important to him, but still Bilbo took it for himself; and that was a smart idea, as it became quite a useful tool throughout his journey. With it he escaped Gollum’s lair; “Gollum was defeated. He dared go no further. He had lost : lost his prey, and lost, too, the only thing he had ever cared about, his precious” (Tolkien 87). The ring helped Bilbo escape the goblins, who Bilbo encountered shortly after fleeing from Gollum. The ring also helped Bilbo escape from the treacherous spiders he and the dwarves came across later on in the story. Finally, Bilbo crossed the threshold, or in other worlds, left the old world behind. The morning after the dwarves had convinced Bilbo to join them, Bilbo found his house trashed, but the dwarves gone. So he assumed they went on without him. Ten minutes before he was due at the Green Dragon Inn, Gandalf appeared at his house informing him that they were all waiting for him to arrive. Flustered, Bilbo was shoved out of his house towards the Inn, without
Bilbo is a timid, comfortable, and compact in his secure little hole at Bag End. Gandalf persuaded him into going on a quest with Thorin’s dwarves. Bilbo became afraid that he fainted. As the novel progresses, Bilbo prevails in the face of danger and adversity, justifying Gandalf’s early claim that there is more to him than what he thought. Bilbo’s journey fits into the tradition of a hero’s quest, because he basically went somewhere in order to gain something.
Bilbo the Hobbit, persuaded by an old wizard named Gandalf, to set out on a quest with thirteen militant dwarves. Seized by a self-assured, fire-breathing dragon named Smaug, the dwarves went on a challenging adventure to reclaim their kingdom, retrieve back the gold that was kept inside the palace, and defeat Smaug for good. Along the way, Bilbo found a magical ring and was able to turn invisible, which is a very useful technique for rescuing the dwarves. They manage to pass many obstacles and met different types of villains. At the end, Bilbo and the dwarves did not go up against Smaug, instead Bard the Bowman from Lake-men defeated Smaug and after that the Battle of the Five Armies began.
The Serpent is very small, not a full length scale of a serpent; the serpent is in a ‘s’ shape position that ends where the shoulder of the snake would be. The tongue is long . There’s a small cut at the bottom of the tongue, making it look like there are two tongues. The snake is in a position that is ready to attack by displaying all eighteen sharp teeth- the teeth near the middle are bigger in width in comparison to the side teeth and are shaped like a crescent moon. The nose of the serpent pops up with a bulge.
Alfonso Gonzales provides a riveting and detailed work of Latino migrant politics and the homeland security state. Migration control date back to the mid-20th century. The author presents the actions taken by “pro-immigrant” groups to counter the hegemonic institutions that criminalize our communities. The book draws on political theory and field research with numerous activists, deportees, and policy makers across the country ranging from Los Angeles to Washington D.C. and abroad (Mexico and El Salvador). Gonzales argues that Latinos face a multidimensional form of political power he coins “anti-migrant hegemony,” that secures a legitimization for state violence against migrants through a race-neutral dialog regarding crime and combating terrorism. Gonzales presents an array of agents that have a stake in migrant politics and the Homeland Security State. The book ends with discussing how Latino migrant activists and their allies could change the contemporary reality faced by millions of Latinos living in the shadows and ultimately help democratize the United States.
At this time, Thorin and the other dwarves gain more respect for the hobbit, who was once doubted and looked down upon. Bilbo’s intelligence and resourcefulness seems much more remarkable than Thorin’s integrity; since Thorin was considering on telling the elves about their journey. In this chapter, Bilbo has become responsible for the dwarves; as he uses his advantageous skills to steal food for them. The quote, “When he heard Bilbo’s voice through the keyhole, he could hardly believe his ears.” This indicated that Thorin was so relieved and reassured when Bilbo discovered him, because he knew he could rely on Bilbo to help him and the other dwarves escape. This chapter demonstrates how Bilbo, rather small; but he is a bright ray of hope for the dwarves when they are in
After a few more obstacles the group makes it to Rivendell; the Elves kingdom where they find more information to add on their map for the quest. Later, Thorin got trapped by wood-elves and was sent to prison. The rest of the dwarves were also sent to prison later after being trapped by the wood-elves.
