Title: Music Industry: The Death of Music Topic: The idea I want to talk about is the music industries. Purpose Statement: To inform the audience about the corruption of the music industry and how they are cheated out of their money. Audience Analysis: A. Demographics: The audience is demographically characterized as having both male and female Michigan State University students within the age group of 17 and 24. As well as being ethnically diverse. As a result, I think that the demographic of the audience will have great influence on the speech. Both the audience and myself fall in the same demographic group, which allows me to have a connection with the audience. Making it easier to make my point. B. Psychographics: All members of the audience will have some college education and will be in an attentive mood because of my topic. Music is something that everyone can relate to. These factors will affect my speech by allowing me to grab the audience’s attention and allow the audience to focus on my topic. C. Verbal Considerations: I plan to deliver my speech in an informal manner to be able to build a connection with the audience. While also using proper grammar with complete sentences to create my credibility. However, I will avoid slang and profanity to prevent any offence or distraction to the audience. D. Visual Considerations: For my appearance I plan to be dressed in a casual style. During my speech I will use proper posture, which means I will be sitting confidently
Every music artist begins somewhere. Every artist had to do something to get their music out there. No one just automatically becomes famous. Then everyone wants to listen to your music. You start out new and anonymous and become more popular over time. Artist become famous by advertising. Every music artist should be able to advertise.
I propose that all unsigned rising artist should target the business side of the music industry to be successful in the entertainment business because it allows the artist to be taken seriously and make solid connections that can further his/her career. Learning the works of the music industry also enables a new artist to be further successful and profitable. Recent studies show that most new artists without professional representation and a business mindset have a slimmer chance in getting signed to major or independent labels (Lowry, 2011). Overall, the specific change needed is that unsigned artists should be concentrating on their careers as professionals and not amateurs, thus focusing on the ins and outs of the music business and
Many things must be taken into consideration when addressing a class of students. Many of them share similar interests such as me, seeing that we are both share many things in common as we both attend UW Whitewater. I am familiar with the class and there interests because of the bag speeches so my speech that I will give will be more laid back because I am more comfortable with them. I have also given a speech in front of this audience before, this will help with my nerves as well as my delivery.
The current music industry is a hard business for all musicians, whether they are a new artist or even a popular radio artist. Modern times have radically changed the way that musicians now make money. Past musicians used to be able to make a living simply by selling their music and playing a few major concerts to survive and even lives some luxurious lives and not really have to focus on anything except the art that they were creating. The music industry has transformed from being an art to becoming a challenging business job for anyone involved. Today, most musicians have to also be able to handle managerial business to get anywhere and make money or find someone to help them. Current musicians need to do more than just sell music
The speaker made direct eye contact at all times unless his head was moving to place emphasis on what he was saying. Further, the speaker spoke loud enough to be heard and did not require me to turn my volume up super high while struggling to hear him. Additionally, the speaker utilized a good pace. He moved slow enough for me to comprehend everything he was telling me but fast enough so that I did not get bored and distracted. Finally, the speaker alternated his pitch throughout the speech which kept my attention. Overall, besides the previously addressed issues, the delivery of the speech was great! I would, however, suggest having more time of the speech spent face to face with the speaker for a more powerful speech.

This process requires the speaker to analyze the audience before, during, and after the delivery of the speech. However, audience analysis is hugely conducted before the presentation of the speech than during the act of speaking. This is followed by the evaluation of the socio-economic, psychographic, and environmental characteristics of the audience (Atkins-Sayre, n.d.).

Advancement in technology has played a significant role in the music production by lowering the length of time it takes to produce recorded material. Artists usually sign a contract with a recording company that markets their music products. The internet and low-cost recording technologies have created a “do-it-yourself” music movement. New artists have gained worldwide recognition without landing a recording contract with a major record label.

There are four different types of presentation methods they are; Impromptu, Extemporaneous Speaking, Using a Manuscript, and Memorization. Each of the four methods is appropriate in certain situations. Impromptu is a speech that frequently involves no preparation time and forces you to think on your feet. With no opportunity to prepare, you must rely on what you know. Extemporaneous is a speech that involves preparation and practice. This form of delivery has many advantages.
