Music is a very powerful expression of emotions that come together as a whole to morph your psychological feelings into a sub-reality vision. Over the many years, history has been able to capture the moments at which music has made an impact on human lives. We can start with Manu Chao the artist that sings about left-wing messages and portrays his concerts as “collective therapy”. Or Juan Gabriel the young man that rose out of poverty to become the world’s most beloved artist/songwriter and whose music carried a resonate flamboyant style. Music is a way of communication that is used in many realms such as entertainment, tradition religion and sporting events. So far this semester, Chic 316 has influenced me to seek a more coherent relationship

For as long as mankind has walked on this earth, music has been an important part of our culture and lifestyles. Each walk of life beats to a different drum. Different cultures use music for many aspects of their lives; for religious purposes, for celebrations, for comfort, for sorrow, for relaxation, for sports, for dances, for energy, for learning, for sleeping, and for sexual experiences. Everyone uses music for something. Music connects with people and reaches them in ways that words simply cannot. Music is a representation of what feelings sound like. I now realise that the Arts, including music, creates opportunities to engage, inspire and enrich our lives. Music making and responding can challenge, provoke responses and enrich our knowledge and understanding of ourselves, our communities and the world.

Have you ever wondered who were the most popular artists in the past 100 years? From the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s in addition to the 2000s each decade birthed many talented artists whose music has lived on and will live on many years after their time. I have checked the billboard top 100 singles charts of each decade and chose artists who I think best represent the most popular music of each respective era. Join me as I take you on a trip through years of popular top charting music!

Music is made up from rhythm and beats with notes and feelings, vocal and/or instrumental sounds combined in such a way as to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion. Yet, music is so much more than notes on paper, music represents movements in time, music is memories, history, connections, relaxation and escape. Many people are influenced by music they listen to. “Music is much more than mere entertainment. It has been a feature of every known human society—anthropologists and sociologists have yet to find a single culture throughout the course of human history that has not had music” (Greenberg, 2016).

What goes on in a culture at any given time period is directly associated with and connected with the music that accompanies it. It is the music that directly reflects any type of social and/or political change. Even though, in some societies, its use has been controlled and monitored, it has nonetheless never failed to instill some sort of change due to its ability to spread like wildfire amongst protesters and individuals who are seeking change. One of the primary purposes of music, as it is a major part of culture, is to buld community cohesion. There have been times during history, especially with the creation and rise of nations, along with war and tragedy, that people have turned to music for comfort, inspiration, and increase in pride for their country. Music has great symbolism behind it that can correlate to one's community and can inspire grand emotions.

Music is something we hear everyday whether it be from our phones,in our cars,or background music wherever we go. Over the years there have been numerous types of music that have different beats,sounds,and different emotions. Such types of music is hip hop and rap,alternative music,and rock and roll music. Music has a long time line and every single sound and type of music is intertwined within each other and influenced by each other. For these reasons music not only defines a type of sound but also recreates lifestyles and defines entire generations. The power of music can be seen from all different types of music.

Music is a great thing that is a special part of everyone’s life. No one can go a single day without hearing some type of music and not fall in love with it. Music gives people that inspiration that they need, mentally and physically. It also takes on this role, where it gives many answers for people. Some songs even help people who are struggling with finding themselves.

Music, in all its complexity can be seen as a living, breathing mechanism that has the ability to sink deep down into one’s soul and create feelings of awe, excitement and wonder. Music speaks to and connects people of all cultures, backgrounds and ideologies, creating a common bond between various members of the human species. When listening to a beautifully composed piece of music, I myself cannot help but feel connected to the instruments, the artists and the composer. It has been my experience that music not only helps me learn, but also helps me grow.

Music is a universal language spoken by every living thing. It has the power to bring people together and can even dictate your life. Music brings people together because it makes us social, can control our emotions, and can even help our cooperation within a group setting.

Music is one of the greatest human creations (DeNora, 2000). It plays an integral role in human society worldwide irrelevant of race, gender, age, wealth or well-being (Kemper & Danhauer, 2005). Indeed according to Batt-Rawden (2010), playing different music in diverse situations can introduce listeners to the desired and relevant atmosphere. In most circumstances, music is played to entertain people, but it can also form part of an accompaniment in sad situations. Music is often the fulcrum that influences the listener by creating a unique ambience and atmosphere (Bernatzky, Presh, Anderson, & Panksepp, 2011). Music is an important part of our day to day lives whether we see it that way or not! It can impact us in unimaginable ways by changing our whole lives completely, but i can also allow of to share a moment with people that we have and will not ever meet. Sometimes even without us knowing or thinking about it. Music is not only an emotional outlet, but rather a unifier like seen in the works of “ J- Balvin”, Lin- Manuel Miranda and much more. Creating a topic we can all share and relate to , whether we already know it or not, and whether we want to admit it or not for that reason music one of the most meaningful ways to express and connect to others. For that reason music can be one of thee, if not the sole most important unifier even through unyielding barriers.

The music inspires more togetherness and also impacts few little things that change the way of character’s behavior, personality, an attitude which creates conflict down the road.
