The main idea of Goosebumps is to get u weirded out. What happened in the beginning of the book is a 12 year old boy named Gage meats a woman on a plane to go to pyramid in Egypt. What happens in the middle of goosebumps is Gabe goes and finds the entrance of the pyramid. What happens in the end of the book the mummy chocks Nila. Nila is a news reporter that is acting a little weird. The main character in the book of goosebumps is a 12 year old named Gabe. Gabe in the beginning he has a t-shirt, and worn out shorts. What kind of a person Gabe is a funny joking little prankster. What is important to now about him is his little mummy hand he has. Gabe at the end of the story is he comes out not afraid of the things he is when before he came in. There is not a lot of minor character in the story there is only the guards, …show more content…
What problems Gabe faces is falling down the trap in the pyramid with all the spiders. How getting attacked by the mummy affected his life is he gets braver. It also teaches him to watch your stuff. How the conflict is solved is the mummy hand was took from Nila. What actions led to it being solved is Nila stealing the old mummy hand from gabe. What my favorite scene in the book is when the mummy came alive. Why I like the scene is because I like action scene, and magic. My favorite character in the book is Gabes uncle. Why gabes uncle is my favorite character in the book is because he reminds me if my father. My father is the same because of his pranks, and his jokes. For example he made prank on gabe, and his cousin with the mummy guy. I would not recommend the book to anybody that I now. I would not recommend this book because all my friends are in seventh grade, and this book is for sixth grade. Also this book was pretty easy than the seventh grade books are. What I would to make this book better is make it more complicated. I would also put more detail in the
7) I can imagine myself re-reading this book again in 10 years because this book is amazing and it is perfect for teenagers and young adult readers. This book is griping and beautifully written. When reading this book you get thrown into the apocalyptic setting. I would recommend this book to my friends because I loved it and all the other books in the series. It’s just great.
Paul Fisher, the protagonist, is a kind hearted pre-teen who is in a family of four consisting of himself, his mother, his father, and his Brother, Erik. Paul is an avid soccer player who wants to have a career in soccer when he gets older.
This book is a very good book. It is not one of my favorite books, but it is in, or somewhat close to, the top ten list. It has an intriguing story and has some humor in it to make sure that it isn’t all mellow.
The minor characters lay the basis of the book by supporting the main characters throughout their activities. The minor characters that undoubtedly progress the book are Scythe Faraday, High Blade Xenocrates, and Scythe Volta. Scythe Faraday is pragmatic and compassionate. He never forgets about the feelings of others. Furthermore, he also is a realist doing whatever is expected of him even if it is arduous for him. High Blade Xenocrates has more of a weak personality. He is constantly being convinced into doing things that hurt him or the society. Though he is the High Blade, or leader, of all of the Scythes he is most like a follower (130). He is influential to the story because he, being blackmailed, lets many bad things happen to
The book is simple and easy to read. The author has a good use of English language. He uses specific words, therefore making his book highly readable.
As you can see, Hikaru Okuizumi uses literary elements to develop his themes. Flashbacks, foreshadowing, false assumptions, and complications are the elements I found most apparent in this book. They aren't the only elements though, he does have more, like imagery and personification through the symbols of the book. Though this book leaves us with many questions, it was a good read and I found it very interesting. Hikaru Okuizumi is a profound author, and this novel proves
Is it fair that twelve random strangers decide your fate? Can you let twelve people that you never met, decide that you are guilty or innocent? Even though the jury system has long been praised as an opportunity for citizens to ensure that justice is properly served in the criminal trial process (Murphy, 2010, p. 212), but it needs fundamental changes to survive in modern Canadian society. The challenge for cause may not be an ideal or even efficient process for determining whether people are biased or not, especially in cases of racial and cultural prejudice (Schuller & VIdmir, 2011). In Canada, jurors are poorly paid and most of the times and jurors suffer from personal hardship.
The minor characters in a story can play such a major role. In the novel, “The Strange Case of Dr .Jekyll and Mr.Hyde” by Robert Louis Stevenson, the readers are introduced to several minor characters, such as Lanyon, Enfield, Carew, and Poole, who help advance the plot. Hastie Lanyon was an old friend of Jekyll who wrote a letter to Utterson about what he witnessed, Richard Enfield told the story of the door , Sir Danvers Carew was murdered by Hyde, and Poole was Jekyll’s butler who got Utterson for help. These minor characters play a major role in the plot.
I really liked the book. It was very enjoyable to read. I would recommend it to my friends, because I think they
Gabriel is exceptionally engaging about his surroundings.Because of this imagery best depicts Gabriel’s Character. For instance, "one of boot stood upright its limp upper tumbled down." Gabriel gives careful consideration to the things around him and marvels what it could mean. He was his surroundings to give a feeling of his feelings.
Men in today society are seen as dominant and independent creatures, most are shaped by their past and their actions. All will Sin, others more Moral than others, no man can escape it, their sins and guilt will continue to follow them until their death, their sleep will never come as it will be always unpleasant for darkness will consume them in a gulp. In William Shakespeare tragedy, Macbeth demonstrates how murder can effect ones manhood and their sanity, as he himself begins with a feminine stance until he outmanned his own wife, Macbeth is sane at the start but ends as feral with no image of God. But in the end, his own manhood caused him to fall from grace and instead caused a freefall into an abyss of sin and betrayal, this was punishment
The character that I choosed is Uncle Willie. The reason why I choosed him is that he has this life that is different than the other characters in the book. What that means is he doesn’t have kids or a wife. Like Maya Angelou has parents and Uncle Willie has no one, only a few people that he knows. His background is that he tries to hide his feelings and he is not the only one. Like Maya Angelou hid her feelings about something when she was 7 or 8 years old. Also that he has been crippled when he was A little kid.
She liked the idea of the story but the sentence structure and the vocabulary used made it hard for her to follow sometimes. I found myself stopping to explain what was going on or what a word meant often. This made the process of reading the book unpleasant. If I had been reading this book by myself I would have been able to read it in a couple hours tops but with reading it to her the process ended up stretching out over the course of weeks. She lost interest towards the end and didn’t even want to finish it with me. Granted she is a little younger than the recommended age range but with me reading it to her it shouldn’t have been as difficult for her to understand as it was. I worry that students reading this on their own will not be able to comprehend what is happening and wade through the vocabulary. I know that many of the vocabulary words could be skipped and a student could still comprehend the story but many of the vocabulary words that are more advanced are the words that give the story its fullness and richness. Without understanding those words the characters lose a great deal of their quirk and spunk. It is because of these issues that I don’t think I would recommend this book to students very often. Despite the fact it is only 148 pages I worry that it won’t be a good experience for them. I do think that there are times that this book could be good but not for the average
First, let’s review the characters in the main story, of which there are few in the literary story
Overall the book was a good read and touched on some various topics that are discussed in our class.
