The quote that spoke to me was by Muhammad Ali and it was "I hated every minute of training, but i said , "don't quit". suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champ". I think that in this quote he means that you may hate doing something but its always for the best and you just have to push through. I feel this quote apply to me because sometimes I have to do stuff I don't hate doing but its barruier bloking you from being the best you can but just got to diverge a go the right way. It also applys for everyone becaue if you want to be the best you have to make some sacrfices that could hurt but you just got to hoist yourself up. The right way may not always be the easy way that's why i relate to this quote because if you want to live your life the best you have to put in work you somties might not like.
For instance, the case of the “Green River Killer” (Hickey, 2010:24) may offer another possible explanation for what caused Jack the Ripper to become a serial killer. Gary Ridgway is America’s most notorious serial killer (Hickey, 2010), he “holds the record for the most serial murder convictions in the history of the United States” (Hickey, 2010:24). Ridgway is responsible for the deaths of 48 women (Hickey, 2010). Like Jack the Ripper, Ridgway selected prostitutes as his intended victims (Paley, 1995).
Muhammad Ali once said “I am the greatest” and he has the evidence to prove it. Muhammad Ali was determined to fight and beat up who ever stole his bike. When Muhammad Ali was little somebody stole his bike so he wanted to become a boxer to beat up whoever took the bike. Then he trained every day and eventually he got so good at it he joined in his first competition and won. Then went on to face some of the best at the time like sonny Liston, Malcom X and joe Frazier.
Muhammad Ali was a great boxer he was born January 17, 1942. Muhammad won his first fight in 1954. In 1956 Ali to go win the golden gloves. Ali fought for the heavy weight a British champion. In 1963 Ali knocked out Sonny Liston and in 1964 became the heavy weight champion.
Muhammad Ali is still important today because he encouraged millions of people to believe in themselves. One of Ali’s major influences was his father, Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. Muhammad Ali born Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. on January 17, 1942. When Muhammad Ali made his final decision, everyone, including most of his fans and the government were in complete shock. They couldn't believe the "selfish" decision that this famous fighter was taking. The government thought it was self-absorbing of Ali to not participate in the war because he was paying him with every fight he won, he was giving him honorable awards and he made the fighter famous. The government just didn't find the way Muhammad "paid him back" fair. It drew so much fury to him, he made Muhammad Ali look like a traitor and an embarrassment to the United States Country. Of course a lot of citizens turned their backs on Ali, but there were others who still supported him. Muhammad Ali didn't exactly refuse because he was "selfish"
“I ain’t got no quarrel with them Vietcong” were the words of the famous boxer Muhammad Ali after refusing to participate in the Vietnam War. Ali was a controversial figure even from the start of his boxing career. To know the story of Muhammed Ali, you must start with his early years of life that led up to his boxing career, his short time as an activist, and how boxing eventually took his life.
Before I advance into the purpose of this report, I would love to grab a bit to pay reverence to one the courageous human beings to ever walk this planet. This man smashed negative stereotypes of African American men with his confidence, dignity, and his charisma. Muhammad Ali, as well known as Cassius Clay never portrayed himself as a brute or Mandingo. He used his wit to battle the malignant tropes as he dealt with the media. Although Ali was labeled a coward and a trader, by those who were not fond of him, for whatever their reasons were, to defend himself and his race. Ali took a stand against the Vietnam War and the United States government, therefore, Ali stood willing to stand up for what he believed in and accept any punishment that was handed to him. The willingness to fight already in his DNA before he became the Greatest Of All Time! One of my favorite Ali quotes is “I got nothing against no Viet Cong. No Vietnamese ever called me a 'nigger'.”
Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr. also known as Muhammad Ali is a famous and a very talented boxer. He was born on January 17, 1942 in Louisville, Kentucky. Cassius, named after his father, grew up in a good home. He had both parents and was the older of two brothers. His father painted billboard and signs for a living while his mother was a stay at home mom.
Muhammad Ali was born on January 17, 1942 In Louisville. One day Ali’s bike had been stolen. Someone had suggested that he should report it to a nearby police. Ali reported it to a traffic cop named, Joe Martin. Joe ran a boxing gym in the basement of the convention hall. He took Ali to the basement. Right when Ali got there he was in awe of all that the boxers were doing. The sights and sounds and smell of the boxing gym excited him so much that he almost forgot about his bike. Right then at that moment was when Muhammad Ali discovered boxing.
The 1960s were a time of revolutionary ideas and new modes of expression. These new ways of thinking and speaking opened the door to major reforms of American society and culture. People were now standing up for what they believed in, for example, protesting against the mistreatment of African-Americans and refusing to follow the Military Selective Service Act, a law which forced men between the ages 18-26 to fight in the controversial Vietnam War (Youth Movement). Not everyone embraced this new attitude that contained a challenge to existing governmental authority. As an expert on the draft, Phillip MacFarlane wrote, “ Some critics decry the loss of the citizen-soldier as a threat to democracy”(MacFarlane). One prominent anti-war figure
Muhammad Ali is known as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers in the world. He was a Charismatic Entertainer, Civil Rights Activist and an Avid Trash Talker. He was known as the man who could float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. Ali had a very unique fighting style which many believe gave him an advantage over his opponents. He combined speed with punching power. However, Ali’s deadliest weapon was not his fists but it was his ability to break down his opponent’s Psyche and exhaust them before throwing a fatal punch. This fighting style/tactic can be seen in the famous fight between George Foreman and Muhammad Ali known as ‘The Rumble in the Jungle’. During this particular fight in 1974, Ali Taunted Foreman using phrases such as: “Hit harder! Show me something, George” “That don’t hurt. I thought you were supposed to be bad”. Foreman was enraged, his confidence was weakened and so Foreman punched away furiously, wasting his energy. After Eight rounds, Ali threw his last punch and just like that. The fight was over. Foreman was defeated. Muhammad Ali used ‘Trash Talk’ to intimidate and discourage his opponents and it worked!
Cassius Marcellus Clay Jr. later known as Muhammad Ali, was a black boxer, and was proud of it. Many African Americans were ashamed of their color, but Ali was different. He was the first boxer to win the Heavyweight Championship 3 different times. He had a great personality and was liked by the people. During his life, he made big decisions that changed the course of his life completely. Muhammad Ali's journey through life was a great inspiration for African American people, but Ali himself deserves the admiration of everyone.
“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way” (Maxwell,John). A leader is someone who everyone would do whatever they can in order to follow the ways of this person without any hesitation. According to our book , Leadership is the use of power and influence to direct the activities of followers toward the goal of achievement. If you can find someone that displays this kind of personality then you indeed have found yourself a leader. According to Dr Berenice King, Martin Luther Kings Daughter,”the great leader exemplify’s excellence in leadership and a commitment to social responsibility in the spirit of Martin Luther King, Jr.” In this statement even the daughter of on of the greatest leaders states that this man,
“He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.” I strongly agree with this quote by Muhammad Ali. In 7th grade, my very first play, I had to be courageous and brave to go through with it all. I had to go through auditions, memorizing lines/practices, and performing. I was a nervous wreck, but I ended up being courageous and it all went
