Fast food restaurants are found at every block and owners try their best to ensure that their customers are ordering in supersize. Mississippi is known to be one of America’s fattest state where majority of their population eat unhealthy and are very inactive. One in four of Americans, especially in Mississippi order from a fast food restaurant daily. Obesity in the US is increasing significantly causing many physical and emotional effects to one’s health. Obese- is becoming an “epidemic!” We have 44.3 million people that are either obese or over weight. In 1986, the numbers were at 1 in 2000, and they became 1 in 400 by the year 2000. Even our high school age students are at an all time high of 16% overweight and 10% obese. As that number keeps increasing, future projections for covering healthcare expenditures must figure in the obese-related

It's been said that Connor McDavid was the second coming of Sidney Crosby - and then it was said that Auston Matthews was the second coming of McDavid. So it has been every year with the first overall pick, and so it goes.
We as a state have a problem Mississippi is the state full of the most obese people in the country. It is recorded that 35.1% of the people living in Mississippi are overweight, that being said we have to make a change to our state in some way. I don’t entirely blame the people of Mississippi for being overweight; I think our state is to blame to. It is not our fault there is not much to do; the state needs to find more activities for kids and adults. I think that is why people in other states are not as obese as the people in Mississippi.
On Dec 12, 2013 there were high rates of obesity and diabetes in a majority of Mississippi’s cities and counties which continues to make Mississippi the unhealthiest state in the country. This may be attributed to Mississippi’s a high poverty rate because poor people tend to eat less healthy. A lot of people in Mississippi has lack of physical activity so that could be another reason. Obesity in adults and children is a top health concern in Mississippi. In 2012 Mississippi had the highest obesity rate in the country. In 2011 it was reported that 44% of Mississippi’s kids were overweight or obese and 70% of the adults were and that it is most prevalent in the Mississippi Delta. Along with obesity go a slew of other health problems including diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure. Another cause of obesity in the Delta is the lack available fresh produce in places. In one store in the Mississippi Delta, bananas were starting to turn black in their only grocery store. If you really want quality fresh produce food or fruit you must drive 30 to 45 minutes to find a good grocery store.

Such as prohibited purchase of fresh fruit, vegetables, protein, poor dietary habits, unhealthy school breakfast and lunches, limited physical effort, and an increase of time on phones, television, or tablet. As for Programs are trying to make a difference for instance the team Healthy Mississippi is partnering with a program called University
In America today one in three adults are considered to be obese. Over the years the rate of obesity keeps climbing up and up. Some people blame fast-food or the environment Americans live in. After all, someone can purchase a chocolate bar at a bookstore nowadays. But, most people are looking at the incorrect factor to blame. Although the food industry is a huge contribution to obesity in America, people are ultimately responsible for their own health.
In the United Sates approximately 10 percent adults were recorded to be obese during the 1950s. Helen McClintock noted that, “In 1980, 7 percent of children ages 6 to 11 were recorded to be obese.” In 2011 to 2012, the CDC (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) reported almost 35 percent of U.S. adults were obese. The growth in obesity in American citizens has increased in the last six decades. There are many reasons for the increase in obesity in the U.S. One of the reason is the average restaurant meal is four times larger than it was in the 1950s. “Researchers found that children who watch more than three hours of television a day are 50 percent more likely to be obese than children who watch fewer than two hours”. The unhealthy food
First, the problem about obesity in Mississippi is the fast food restaurants. Many people decide to eat fast food restaurants because he or she might not decide to cook, or maybe coming in late of a meeting of some sort. Another problem about obesity is the health problems that are stated among doctors. Doctors say many people could receive high blood pressure, headaches, and diabetes from eating too junk food all at one time. There are solutions to these problems as one can help other people to achieve those goals.
Twenty one point seven percent of Mississippi’s ten to seventeen year old population is currently obese. Obesity in any area, regarding age, is a problem. Childhood obesity needs to be addressed first, because reducing the amount of obese residence in Mississippi would subtract from the adult obese rate. Obesity causes so many health problems that children should not be experiencing at a young age (“State of Obesity”). Childhood obesity has been casting a dark shadow over Mississippi for a very long time; taking lives and causing diagnoses every day, therefore childhood obesity is a problem that needs to be fixed.
Obesity is a growing epidemic in America. Obesity has increasingly become worse in America due to all the fast food restaurants and growing appetites for Americans. Obesity also increases the risk for various diseases and health issues. Some examples of diseases would be heart disease, type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea gallstones, and even certain kinds of cancers. Obesity can be prevented, most people just do not take the measures to prevent it. You can exercise daily, make healthier, wiser decisions on foods you intake, and you can even make a homemade meal instead of eating Mcdonalds; and portion control is the key! “Obesity is a disease that affects more than one-third of the U.S adult population (approximately 78.6 million Americans). The number of Americans with obesity had steadily increase since 1960, a trend that has slowed down in recent years but show no sign of reversing”.
Currently I hold a client porter position, which is an excellent job, but I am intent on building a career utilizing my skills and talents in new and more challenging ways working as a unit clerk in the emergency room department at the Pasqua Hospital. Unexpectedly, the unit clerk position came into focus for me during an ordinary day when I had the opportunity to learn that the unit clerk, who inspired me to choose the office assistant career, is an integral part of the emergency department. The pivotal event began when a man approached the admitting desk and collapsed. With a code blue called on the unidentified patient, the entire department ignited into action. While the doctors’ and nurses’ concentration was solely on the needs of the
Despite all the troubles this nation faces today, obesity has unanticipatedly made its way to an all time high in the United States. There has been a rapid increase of obesity since the 1970’s. The Centers For Disease Control and Prevention reports that 37 percent of adults are obese opposed to the 14 percent from the 70’s. This leaves Americans to ask only 1 question… are there too many obesogenic foods in modern America? Fast food has become a natural meal for many people, but they are not at fully culpable. Although a typical meal from In-N-Out is about 1500 calories, citizens in the United States must take more personal responsibility and realize this is too unhealthy to eat on a consistent basis. Fortunately, there are many ways that allows an individual to properly manage their diet. Parents also must play their part in raising kids into a healthy lifestyle. In order to further prevent the increasing rates of obesity and obesity related diseases, millennials and the fast food industries must take action.
