I can still recall the days where I would run down the block chasing after the ice cream truck. I lived near a park in Brooklyn, and my daily summer routine consisted of endless enjoyment at the park. As a nine-year-old, all I focused on was having fun and playing handball with my friends at the park. Every day I set out on the same task, and did not realize what I would do if those friends were no longer there. And I also remember the day, when my parents informed me that we were moving. The plan was to move out from the clustered city of New York, and shift into the suburban setting of New Jersey. As a young child, I was startled and not sure if I was ready to be able to commit and abstained the thought. The thought of leaving my friends and the place where I grew up in all my life, irked me emotionally. With a new city, came a new house and a new environment. The day of the …show more content…

I have met amazing people that have impacted my life in wonderful ways. I am involved in this community and realize that change isn’t bad, it’s only for the better good. As an effect to the transition from the city, I did not comprehend to my fullest capabilities and slacked off my schoolwork. It took a great amount of determination to turn that around and since then, I have found what I can accomplish and, endure in them more greatly. I have struggled and managed to maintain my abilities in school and in my community. As we all know, nothing is given as a present, and only shall be given if we earn it. Looking back to all my rough patches, i infer, would i be where i am today; would i have been exposed to different lifestyles if i stayed in Brooklyn? Along this journey, the exposure i have been given, has enabled me to initiate the best of things. The move to New Jersey tempts me to make another move to maturity. As the next step, to grasp my dreams, I believe Rutgers will guide me into the destined
