The day I saw my favorite Movie Live on stage. February 2, 2015. It was just an ordinary day with my daily routine of eighth grade, so I thought. My mom was over my grandma’s house earlier than usual. I went inside and they were talking about how they should do something for the girls and how we needed to go on a trip. Honestly I didn’t get excited at first because when they doing something with the girls I think of “Oh something for the older people.” I came out of the den and went into the living room and they were at the table. “Gone head and put your backpack in the car”, my mom said. I did what she said and went back inside to hear what they were talking about. My grandma then said “What do you think about going on a trip to the Orpheum?” …show more content…
Nydia spent the night with me so she could be with me when we left. We stayed up and talked about how we were ready to go see the Lion King Live. We finally quietly dozed off around one or two in the morning. We all met up at my grandma’s house so we could leave at the same time. We took two cars my Aunt, who is really a cousin but we grew up calling her our Aunt, and my Aunt, who is my dad’s sister. We started on the road, we took a few stops because hunger was clawing at our insides so, we stop at like a McDonald’s or Burger King. It was like three hours before we got to Tunica, which didn’t sleep long because I went to sleep half of the way. We stopped at a restaurant called Mesquite, which is the best restaurant I have ever been to, besides McEwens, before we left to go to the Orpheum. I order a steak, shrimp, and fries. I didn’t finish but it was really good. We arrived at the Orpheum and I could hear my self screaming “yay” like one of those cheerleaders off of a movie. We got inside and got to our seats. They said over an inter-come that we had to cut off our phones and put them away. I thought that sucked but I did what they said and now I don’t have any pictures of the people, but I do of what the place looked like. The play was about two hours long with all the
First, I walked through the gates and smelled the great food and could see the amazing field. Then, we had to find the suite where my friend’s dad’s business had bought for their employees for the game. We had to climb a ton of stairs to get to our seats because they were way high
The University of Tennessee produced A Lesson before Dying by Romulus Linney in the Carousel Theatre, March 2016. This play was based off of Ernest J. Gaines novel, which follows a teacher in rural Louisiana as he tries to teach a young, black man, on death row, what it means to be a man. We are set up in a post-World War II pre-civil rights movement time, specifically 1948 where Jim Crow Law shapes the world of the characters in the show. The Carousel’s performance masterfully emphasized the major theme of A Lesson Before Dying, racism in society, through various aspects of production. To begin, while this show is set in 1948, the message it delivers is, sadly, still prevalent in today’s society.
In the movie A Better Life, the Main Character Carlos Galindo is an undocumented immigrant from Mexico who started working as a day labor worker when he first arrived in the country, however he has had steady work from Blasco Martinez who owns a gardening business which he tries to convince Carlos to buy from him as he says he is moving. The idea of being self employed is very appealing to Carlos but he knows he can never afford to do so and the risk of getting caught and deported is very high. Carlos has a son Luis who is reluctant to go to school on a daily basis and gets into trouble as he is influenced by his friends who are part of the
In this paper, I will write about “Thelma and Louise” (1991) movie. I choose a last scene of the movie which the police came to arrest them in the Grand Canyon (from 122 to 125 minutes).
One of the Fifty Greatest Business Movies listed by IMDb is Baby Boom. I chose this movie because I could relate to the main character J.C. Wiatt, played by Diane Keaton. J.C. Wiatt, who was portrayed as a businesswoman, studied business and had become very successful employee at a major firm. By studying business it helped her choose a career, become a successful employee and improved her management skills.
I also went and saw my Aunt Ronna i was so happy to see her I also saw my cousin Sheila and my aunt’s cats Oscar and Hailey, the dog Penny and her fish i call her Wish. When i was there with my mom my sister and Aunt Selina who we were taking to be there a week before my cousin’s wedding, with my Aunt Ronna we did crosswords, watched George Lopez, King of Bel-Air, Major Crimes, and Criminal Minds, we also stayed up but that wasn’t with my Aunt Ronna I was up till 2:30 AM.That day Sheila made dinner we had chicken and

Growing up was rough without a father in my life. As well, my mother was either at school or working half the time. I would be stuck with my grandparents, and I was the first grandson in both sides of my families so they never knew how to manage but buy me toys which I never really used. In some ways they spoiled me rotten. Right until my little sister Olivia and my cousin Roger were born. Then, I wasn’t getting spoiled anymore and was forgotten. However, this brings me to a time when I just reached third grade I was 8 years and my grandmother Sandra Simmons my mom’s mother. Decided it was time for me to give up my toys and become a big boy. So, I began to throw a tantrum and ask what the reason was. Well little, did I know my grandmother did a lot of missionaries to El Salvador way
I arrive at the theater with my bag and find my freshman group. They were sitting in a circle, talking about what was gonna happen. None of us had been to one of these before, so it was all a little nerve racking for us.
It took what felt like an entire year to find a parking spot. We were parked in the way, way back. As I walked in the door, there was already a huge line. I had to get a bracelet around my wrist to show all the security guards and the people working and running the competition there that I was there to perform. I was only 8 at the time so they Deltaplex looked huge in my little eyes. There were posters and signs of teams surrounding you. My mom found my team sign since I was way to little to see above everyone’s head. We were all the way in the back. Right as I walked to say hi to my team and start to stretch, I knew the craziness was already beginning.
Now I was in sixth grade and I was at the top of my class. I enjoyed school immensely for it was an escape of hearing my mother yell if she was home that day and my teacher was caring and supportive. My mother’s mom died in the middle of the school year therefore she left to go to Illinois, where my grandmother was staying, without notice. On one hand I was glad she was gone but on the other I wanted what we had before and this took over my life for the time that she was gone. Doing school work was harder because I didn’t want to do anything but sob even though I know people had it worse I couldn’t stop myself from crying almost everyday. We didn’t even have contact with her until she reached my grandmother's body in Illinois. Her brother contacted us saying she was there and saying that she shouldn’t have been left alone since he already was well informed about her condition. When she came back I lit up and come for a hug not knowing that she’d get down to my level and say that there was, “A pentagram in the fields” which in all
It was the winter of my 6th grade year, the first year being up at the high school. The class was taking their annual 3 day trip up to deep portage. I was excited to go and have a good time with my friends. I had never been on a trip without my parents before. My family did not travel much, so I didn't have much of anything to pack my clothes and supplies in. My father had just returned from Fleet Farm bearing supplies. He had managed to get a giant orange shopping bag to put his shopping items in, so I found to make do with that. Everything fit in the bag and we were good to go. I’m glad I had that bag.
Anyone’s future can change in a split second. “Back to the Future” is a trilogy directed and written by Robert Zemeckis. The movie is about a teen experiencing different time zones with an older scientist that is a close friend to him. Throughout the movie Marty McFly, the main character, matures and learns life lessons from going through major events. Marty goes through many situations, that not every average teen would go through which helps him create a positive future for himself. A major theme in the “Back to the Future” series is that a person’s future is not set in stone, this theme is portrayed in the movie, when every time they travel through time a lot changes, Marty maturing throughout the movie changed his future, and when Doc is supposed to fall in love and face death.
I arrived at the Times Union Center about 15 minutes before the performance began, I got my ticket and ended up with a great seat in row G, seat 12. The reception hall was very nicely decorated, and the staff was friendly and extremely helpful. I went to the bar, ordered my drink and made my way into the show room.
Trisha stayed at my house up to 7:00pm. We talked, ate snacks, watched T.V, and had a lot of fun. It would have been more fun if my sister and friends were here. At 7:15pm Trisha told me to change into the dress she got me, and that we were going to go out.
