The most important part of the scene is the anomaly that is Ash. You see him act like a wild animal would, by acting with frustration toward Ripley for finding out his protocols. This leads me to draw the conclusion that this scene is a sort of metaphor for how the company acts toward its employees for the movies. Ripley represents herself and the other employees that the company is willing to kill for the “greater good” that is their weapons division. Ash represents the company in that they don’t care about what it takes to get what they want, even when their plans are discovered. They claim to be a good company working for the progress of humanity while in truth destroying humanity's progress. It affects the overall meaning of the film by
