Mount Redoubt, Alaska (1889-1900) Mount Redoubt is an active volcano. A volcano is an opening on the surface of the Earth letting the hotter material inside escape the mountain or hill. (Magma or Lava) When that magma escapes, the mountain creates an explosion. If a volcano has erupted in the last 10,000 years then it is still considered an active volcano.

My paper will be on the battle of fort ticonderoga. Why it happened. Where it happened.Who was in control of the army. What happened at the battle and when the battle took place.
How did the pioneers get what they need? How did the pioneers stay safe? Well back in the day pioneers could find a break. Small buildings called forts were there. The pioneers could trade and be protected. This is what we call forts along the trail. Forts are fortified buildings or a strategic position. But in the days, they were not just used for war and fighting, but some were. One of the more famous forts is Fort Laramie. Fort Laramie used to be a great battle fort but eventually went into the fur trading business. Many natives and travelers stopped here to trade for many goods that they use for survival. Imagine this: Spears whooshed past a wagon. The pioneers were
Fort Snelling was completed in 1825. It was critically placed at a river junction and the intersection of two major fur trade highways in what is now St. Paul, Minnesota. After the war of 1812 an Indian Agent was used to negotiate with the local Native Americans and protect the US’s interest in the fur trade.
Fort Snelling is located in the “heart of the twin cities” according to the writers at the Minnesota Department of Natural Resorces. It was established at the junction of the Mississippi and Minnesota rivers around 1819 and 1820 as an army frontier post, and was used by the Us military for over 120 years. The fort is located on the top of the bluff, overlooking the river junction, a strategic location, benefiting both the Us and Dakota during the fur trade as its presence overlooked two of the major rivers used by voyagers, transporting furs at the time.
Throughout the Revolutionary War, there were many battles that occurred that are not remembered today. The reasons for this are plentiful, examples include minor battles, unimportant skirmishes, or travesties of war. However, some battles are forgotten intentionally, like times whenever something embarrassing happened to a soldier, or to an entire side. This case of embarrassing defeat is exactly what happened at Fort Galphin or, as the British called it, Fort Dreadnought, in Beech Island, SC on May 21st, 1781.
The Battle of Bunker Hill took place on June 17 1775, about a year before the 13 colonies declared independence from Britain. This battle took place in Charlestown on the north side of the Boston Harbor. The two main generals were Artemas Ward, for America and William Howe, for Britain. Other commanders from America included: Israel Putnam and William Prescott. Other commanders from Britain included: Sir Robert Pigot, Henry Clinton, John Stark, Thomas Gage, and Samuel Graves. Now, at the time Britain had more troops than the colonies so it makes sense that they had more commanders. Britain had 2,400 British troops of the Boston Garrison while the colonies had 1,500 troops from the American Continental Army.
“Many historians consider the Battle of King's Mountain on October 7, 1780 to be the turning point in America's War for Independence.” (hankla)
American general Israel Putnam in 1740 became a prosperouse farmer. He saw service through the French and Indian war. By being captured by indians and rising to the rank of lietenant coloniel in 1759. The outbreak of American revolution was appointed major general in the continental army. He distinguished himself at the Battle of Bunker Hill in june
“Don’t Fire Till You See the Whites of Their Eyes.” States John Stark while heading off to battle at Bunker Hill. During this time this battle had many causes, leaders, events, and effects that lead to the importance of this battle.
Did you know that a bake sale raised money to build the Bunker Hill Monument, or that the battle of Bunker hill mostly took place on Breed’s Hill, but it was confused with Bunker Hill. The American Revolutionary war had many Battles one of the battles was the battle of Bunker/Breeds Hill. It was a battle like no other, there are many things one must know about the Battle. The different sides are one of the most important things about the battles and how they struggled through times, like when the british woke up to see a 6 foot wall, and how the Americans felt about their hard work. The Geography is super important, because the battle was on a hill and made the british walk up the very high hill so the Americans had an advantage. There were many important parts of the battle to, like when the American forces found out that the British wanted to take over hills, in Charlestown, Massachusetts.
were at Snelling they suffered many hardships, from soldiers tormenting them to the death of loved ones. Fort Snelling should have been a place to be remembered, but there is a lot of sadness there. In 1819, the United States Army built a fort at the junction of the Mississippi and Minnesota Rive, a place that is sacred to the Dakota homeland. Fort Snelling would go on to become a site of major significance in the US and in state history. Due to the Dakota war become a hell hole for more than 1700 people. Disease would run rampant killing many; the brutality would forever be engrained in their minds, and death.
