I think the deaths of Romeo and Juliet in The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet By: William Shakespeare were the faults of many reasons. The main reason was the feud between the Capulets and Montagues. I also think it had a lot to do with Tybalt and his “anger issues.” Also I think Fate played a big part in their deaths too. First of all, I think if the families didn’t have a big feud and didn’t hate each other then Romeo and Juliet would still be alive. If it didn’t matter that Romeo was a montague then I think The Capulet wouldn’t have cared that Juliet married Romeo. An example in the book is when Capulet and Montague are threatening each other. “Capulet: My sword I say! Old Montague is came And flourishes his blade in spite of me. Montague”
Throughout the play Romeo and Juliet there are many different reasons that could have be held responsible for the death of both Romeo and Juliet. However, I think that there were three that stood out the most, the feuding families, Friar Lawrence, and fate. The first main reason of Romeo and Juliets death is, feuding families. I think that the lovers died because of the nonstop argueing between the Capulets and Montagues. Since the lovers were from the two arguing clans, the stress on both Romeo and Juliet would have been incredible.
In the beginning of the play it come clear that the two “Star-Crossed lovers” are from two conflicting families. For instance the prologue states Two households, both alike in dignity (In fair Verona, where we lay our scene), From ancient grudge break to new mutiny, Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean. (Prologue.1-4). This explains to us that the two families (The Montagues and Capulets) are of the same social standing, and are in a uncivil family feud. Later in the story after Romeo and Juliet have already met, Juliet cries out “O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo? Deny thy father and refuse thy name, or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, and I'll no longer be a Capulet.” (2.2.36-39) Juliet is willing to give up her family name to be with her love Romeo. After Romeo kills Tybalt, cousin of juliet, Juliet first takes the side of her family and rejects Romeo, but later taking his side. Juliet expresses her feelings by saying “Shall I speak ill of him that is my husband? Ah, poor my lord, what tongue shall smooth thy
The feud between the two families is a reason that they are responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. The Capulet’s hate the Montague’s so much that Juliet could not tell them that she loves Romeo. Document A states, “From ancient grudge break to new mutiny” (Document A). Meaning that the two
These three reasons are what are most to blame for Romeo and Juliet's deaths. One of the major factors in Romeo and Juliet's death is the. The feud between the Montagues and the Capulet families is the reason for Romeo and Juliet's death because it made them hide their love and take actions that lead to their deaths to hide their love. For example, in Act 2, when Romeo tells
The most blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet is fate. In the prologue, it says, “A pair of star-cross’d lovers take their life…” (Doc A). “Starcross’d” means that it is destined Romeo and Juliet are not to be together. Their love is cursed by fate to end in tragedy. The prologue also says “From forth the fatal loins of these two foes…” (Doc A). In Shakespeare’s
The Capulet’s were known to be the ones continuing the family feud as they were always the ones provoking the Montague’s and starting the fights. As males were the head of the family in charge, he is to blame for the continuing feud. Fate was also a major role with this flaw. Although Lord Capulet was blamed for continuing the feud, this plays along with fate and that fate kept this feud going. Act 1 Scene 1 Line 65 he says to Lady Capulet, “What noise is this? Give me my long sword, ho!” If the feud was not continued by Lord Capulet, Romeo and Juliet wouldn’t have had to hide their love for one another nor keep their marriage a secret. Romeo wouldn’t have been banished for killing Tybalt and most importantly, they wouldn’t have died. In this scenario Lord Capulet should not have tried to pull out weapons to fight the Montague’s as it is shown that the feud between the families can be linked back to him, as he is being confrontational and aggressive. Lord Capulet was exceptionally antagonistic towards the Montague’s, leading towards the feud being continued which spiralled towards the tragic
The ending to Romeo and Juliet is very sad. How both of them died because of a family feud. At such a young age too. Many people played a role in their deaths. I believe that both the Montagues and the Capulets are to blame for their deaths.
There is only one reason for the death of Romeo & Juliet. Some people lean toward free will but it’s really fate. The play written by Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet is about two star crossed lovers who lived in fair Verona and lost their lives due to suicide. The two lovers came from families who are enemies, which was why their marriage had to be secretive.
Romeo and Juliet’s deaths were part of a bigger plan. In the play Romeo and Juliet, two star-crossed lovers try their best to be together while their families are battling. Which then led to both of their deaths. Many people in the play can be blamed for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. One person in particular can be blamed for all of his horrible actions.
Juliet then awakens and finds Romeo dead then kills herself. In the end there is blood on someone’s hands and there are many characters you could place the blame to. I believe the Capulets and the Montagues are the main reason for the death of Romeo and Juliet. If there were no conflict between the two’s families there would have been no reason to be secretive about their love. The families put so much dirt on the other families name the kids knew their love would not be acceptable. At the age both they were at a family support system is crucial. With Juliet being only 13 she was still learning about everything there was to know about life and so it’s understandable why she felt she needed to keep her love
There are easily many characters to blame for their deaths. Using evidence from the information given it is easy to say that the fault for Romeo and Juliet overall demize lies with Society, Love, and Lady Capulet. Romeo and Juliet are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Living in the time period they do, it is common for family feuds. Romeo and Juliet happen to be apart of the one of the strongest feuds around.
Romeo's and Juliet's deaths are the most important point in the play. This is because they were needless and cause by a series of misfortunes. They were the result of many people's efforts and mistakes, and caused the deaths of many people. These deaths lie firmly on the shoulders of Romeo and Juliet because their love led to many conflicts and death. In addition, it eventually led to their own deaths. Often, the deaths were simple misunderstandings or miscommunications. All of which could have easily been avoided. I firmly believe that ultimately the blame lies on Romeo and Juliet themselves because their decisions and actions led to their own demise.
Montague and Capulet families has a long time feud between them. Romeo is a Montague while Juliet is a Capulet. They first met at a masquerade ball at Capulet's house. They suddenly fell inlove to each other. They always met to each other opposing the rules of their family.
Romeo and Juliet is one of the most tragic and depressing stories ever told. If you take the story from a different perspective and really think through some of the choices that were made leading up to their death you would see that Romeo and Juliet made some foolish decisions that caused their deaths. Foolishness is at fault for the death of Romeo and Juliet because he went to the Capulet party and kissed Juliet, after the party he went to Juliet’s balcony and talked to her until the morning, and he also took Juliet’s virginity.
If Romeo and Juliet’s families did not hate each other, there would be no suicide, and there would be no reason the two could not be married after meeting and being infatuated. The reason this is so important is because without this factor the play would most likely not be a tragedy, just a romance. If Romeo and Juliet had been married for a while, then true love could have been real between the two. Since the two did not know each other well, and were irrational teenagers, love was not the motivation here, the attraction the two had for each other was the
