The Modern Day Monsters When we were kids we were told of many imaginary monsters, but as you grow up we learn what the real monsters are. A monster is defined as a badly behaved or cruel person, something that is absurdly large, or a fictional and frightening creature. The monsters that we know of today are nothing like the ones when we were little kids. When you realize things like the monster under your bed isn’t real is when you come to know that society is the real monster. Picture the government as a big monster that you hardly ever see it's always lurking in the shadows, waiting to get someone because that is how many people will see it. People believe that the government harbors secrets and mostly isn’t trustworthy. They also believe that the government only shows certain things that are happening they don’t provide us with all the information. The government is essentially a monster because it has control over us, even though we are a free country. They control the way we live by the actions they do. They also make the decisions on how the country will be run. People are scared of the new laws that haven’t or will be passed. When Obama was trying to pass the Obamacare many people got scared and was unsure what that would mean for them, also some people didn’t want healthcare, but essentially they have to get it. Many parents and students are weren’t happy when they also implemented the healthy school lunch because it actually made school lunches worse than they already were because all schools don’t have fresh and appetizing lunches.
