During the lecture where we talk about the mini mental status exam I was very excite about learning something new. It was very intriguing and informational learning about the tool that many people use to diagnose people you might have dementia or others health issues. However during the in class exercise when we had to performed the mini mental status exam as a patient and the interviewer is was a fun and intriguing. During the the exercise its allow me understand the mental status exam more in depth and understand how really important this exam is to many patients and the interviewers. As the exercise begin I chose to be the patient first, being the patient it allow me see how to performed the exam so I won't make
The recent test was a bit of a wake up call. I missed the i**103 question. It's frustrating in that I calculated the correct result, but for some perverse reason chose the wrong selection. I guess once solved, my mind tends to wander on to the next question. With only 10 multiple choice questions, this can have a devastating impact. From a return on investment, this is definitely an area worth improving. I generally do a substantial portion of course exercises in my head, and don't bother writing them down. This is perhaps a mistake on my part, since recording the results correctly is a critical final step worth practicing. Unfortunately, this approach does significantly increase the time necessary to complete the exercises.
I took the Self-Quiz that we normally have at the end of the unit but we also and a graded Quiz so it was a really interesting unit.
It helped me to have a broader view in my field of competency and to find new ideas from people who shared their own.

I realized, upon taking the various assessments, that even though I was reasonably aware of my personal strengths and character traits, to have the opportunity to have them confirmed and then exposed to some I wasn’t aware of has uncovered qualities and attributes that I have now begun to employ in my everyday life, both naturally
Kirbas et al. (2013) used SD-OCT images to analyze RNFL thickness in untreated AD patients without visual impairment, and compared the results with healthy controls. In addition, patients were also administered a Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) which served to ensure that the patients were in an early stage of AD. In this study all of the optic nerve quadrants were analyzed, but the only significant results were those for the superior quadrant (76 ± 6.7 mm vs 105 ± 4.8 mm; P = 0.001), as well as the overall average RNFL thickness (65 ± 6.2 mm vs 75 ± 3.8 mm; P = 0.001). Furthermore, there was no correlation between MMSE scores and OCT measurements. In brief, there was a noticeable decrease in the total RNFL thickness of AD patients
Before starting the assessment with the patient I read through his patient notes to learn about their family history for example with this patient he has no relationship with his brother but his closest relative is his uncle that visits him often. I also asked the Nurse in Charge (NIC) and my educator about any sensitive subjects I should be aware of and discussed his medical history and state of health on the day of the assessment. This was done to gain an understanding of his behaviour and knowledge of his experience before and during his illness (Creek and Lawson-Porter, 2008). On reflection this allowed me to gain a huge insight into the history of his mental illness. This allowed me to feel comfortable when he brought up the subject of his illness as I felt as if I had an insight into his past. I also felt that by him bringing this conversation up he felt as if he could trust

Psychological tests and or psychological assessments are an important asset in the field of psychology. These tests are designed to measure people’s characteristics which pertain to behavior. There are a variety of different types of tests that can be used to assess different types of behaviors. According to the specific behavior or behaviors being assessed, tests are categorized into two types, ability tests and personality tests. Ability tests, which encompass achievement, aptitude, and intelligence testing are used to determine capacity or potential by measuring scores based on speed, accuracy, or both.
