How Educational leaders explore Mindfulness to reclaim the Wholeness
Studies reveal that success or failure in the performance of students in school is anchored on the students embracing the school culture. The manner in which students carry themselves is greatly influenced by the customs and competencies of their teachers. The wholesome development of the student cannot be separated with the prevailing environment at the institution of learning (Velki, 2016). This paper is a summary of an intuition of how educational leaders try to reclaim wholeness by exploring mindfulness. In a detailed account by the educational leaders, we get an insight on how they were able to incorporate mindfulness in their grueling careers and influence the success of their careers in impacting on the school culture and in turn improving the output of their students.
The most important step towards achieving a wholeness in the leadership is to incorporate the mission set out in the leadership requirements to match personal ambitions. This way, the success in leadership translates to personal success which is even more fulfilling to an individual. Dedication in

After failing to clinch the position of becoming a top skiing athlete in the US following an accident that had a toll on her performance, Cormelia turned to inspiring others around the world by using mindfulness to overcome any beliefs that in a way limited her potential. Through recognition that each moment in life is unique and unpredictable is key to inculcating mindfulness in the life of a leader (Brown, 2014, p. 146). Imparting these skills to the students under whose watch and care they are, helps them develop a better understanding in their studies and at the same time improve personal abilities. Those practicing mindfulness is also in a better position to handle unpleasant
This is one of the most important steps in being a leader. Leading a group to a destination is apart of being a leader. Formulating a plan gives direction. I would implement this by getting to a quite place and actually think about what my gift are to the world? Who do I really want to be and what is my passion? I love being able to help people solve their problems. Through accounting, I can assist clients with their accounting issues. I would have to have a strategy and goals of how to reach my destination. Right now, I have calendars and dry erase boards in my office to help remind and assist me in staying en route of my goals. Sometimes I might fall a little shy of my goals, but I should encourage myself to not get discourage and surround myself with positive people that are going to help me reach my goals.
A parent might walk into a classroom in the middle of mindfulness moments and weep for joy. An entire classroom filled with silent, still, and reflecting teenagers might seem like a miracle, but that is far from how the students perceive it.
Leadership is about helping people, empowering people, setting clear goals and motivation, while operating to accomplish the mission and improving the organisation.
This paper is about my experience with mindfulness based meditation and scientific inquiry of these experiences. Mindfulness based meditation is describes as technique used to cultivate nonreactive, non-judgmental and stable awareness of the present moment (Garland and Gaylord, 2009). The end goal is to sustain this meta-cognitive state for a long period of time. I practiced non-denominational form of mindfulness based meditation for the first time in my psychology class, which was devoted towards intellectual and experiential examination of meditation. The practice was conducted in a group it was instructed by our own professor and it begun at the end of class. There was one sessions per week and each session was structured meaning it was
Leadership is about creating a vision for that function and gaining peoples commitment by strategic direction.
Williams et al (2014) compared MBCT with both cognitive psychological education, and treatment as usual, he compared the success rate of the therapy in preventing the relapse of MDD in people currently in remission phase following at least 3 previous episodes. It was consequently found that MBCT provided significant protection against the relapse, for participants with increased vulnerability due to adverse psychological history, but showed no significant advantage in comparison to an active control treatment and usual care over the whole group of patients with persistently recurring depression.

In his book What Got You Here Won’t Get You There, Marshall Goldman puts forth the theory that success itself can lead to future failures if those who succeed become complacent and don’t recognize our ability to become stagnant. He brings forth concepts that exalt our faults as virtues, simply because our faults are who we are. As individuals, we exhibit behavior that defines us. Goldman stresses the obvious in that our habits and shortcomings if unaddressed, can lead to inconsistencies and even challenges. He notes that for the continued growth of leadership, mindfulness in all areas of life cannot be understated and under groomed.
Almost everyone is preoccupied with happiness but yet the population seems to be increasingly unhappy. As society and human experience changes we can’t help but ask ourselves how can we fix an increasingly unhappy and dissatisfied society? Mindfulness meditation is a progressively popular solution to this issue. Mindfulness meditation stems from Buddhist tradition and is a practice that includes focusing one’s attention. Does mindfulness meditation have real psychological effects? And if so can they help improve quality of life? Many studies have been conducted proving that mindfulness meditation does have real psychological effects and can help individuals live a more meaningful and happy life. This can be proven through research related to neuroscience, depression and happiness.
Mindfulness, in particular, is associated with perspective taking and empathetic responding, relatedness and interpersonal closeness, and emotional communication, and anger management. Therefore, mindfulness may help a teacher be more responsive to individual students. Teaching is an extremely emotionally-demanding profession. Fortunately, studies show that mindfulness-based interventions may promote resilience and reduce the emotional exhaustion that precedes burnout. This can help teachers promote their own sense of well being and self care, in turn maintaining their care and compassion for their students.
In this chapter, the most important concept for me is what to do about hindrances. Needless to say, all of us will face some hindrances in our life, it could be very serious or unworthy of being mentioned. The key point never is hindrances itself, we should look ahead. I think there is no hindrances that we cannot overcome.
The sum of education, experiences, and observations lays a foundation upon which I will grow to become a good leader. In this plan, I will focused on those aspects of leadership that I believe are most required for personal development as well as those which will be so significant for my future leadership career. I have identified three goals which will guide me in the development process. My goals are to develop my integrity, listening skills and communications skills. I assume that this plan will change and be altered as required by life circumstances.

In this paper, I will describe my initial thoughts about the practice of mindfulness and my development regarding practicing it. Furthermore, I will explore the idea of being a mindful therapist and how I am hoping to apply this with patients in the future.
