Many Children were involved with during war. Some children had their Dads enlisted to the war that had caused them to help their Moms out with many chores. Other children had lost their Dads do to fighting for the war. Lots of children had also lost both their parents and was sent to an orphanage. Teens had soon found out about how simple it was to enlist for duty in the war, and many teens (boys) enlisted to help.

In most cases this is just a few years after high school graduation. Although many military are extremely intelligent and yes provide us with the many freedoms we have today. Some people get out of school and just join the military because they couldn’t find work the like or just simply to get away from home.

Less than one percent of all Americans are enlisted in the military. An even smaller percentage of high school students are enlisted. Students are thought to be incompetent, and not mature enough to decide on enlisting in the military. However, students should be allowed to join the military. The military offers many benefits students can use to help their future. The protection of our country is not overlooked for recruits; they are awarded many personal benefits as well. Tuition assistance, job training, and many benefits that help prepare recruits for occupations while enlisted. Not only are students getting great benefits, but they are also in a small group of professional workers.

There are a lot of graduates fresh out of high schools that make the decision to use the military. There are some people that join the military because that is a fast and easy choice for them. The military gives everyone a wide variety of options. College for instance, the military allows you to serve your country and still have time to attend college and get a degree if you choose to do that. People that choose to join the military get the option to go to college anytime they feel during their military career. The military pays for part or all the tuition. At the age of 15 you don't really understand the war and life in general and sometimes at a really young age you make dumb choices meaning you never really know what's going on in the world and how much of an impact it can do to people. The army is no joke once you start it wouldn't be a good idea to quit because you made a promise to help serve and protect your country. And I know how hard it is to give up on something then feel so bad after because a lost in the family or an injury or just giving up in general.

No matter what branch of the military an individual decides to join, the one thing that is for sure is the individual learns to live by a specific code, usually specified by the branch of service. According to Ford et. al, the number one reason that youth decide to join the military is because of propensity or a natural tendency to behave in a certain way (Ford, Gibson, Griepentrog, & Marsh, 2014). Although, this is not the only reason for individuals, other reasons individuals decide to serve their country can be economical, adventure, college opportunities, or even a family tradition.

Most people have, at one point or another, considered what they were going to do with their lives. Whether a person would like to become an activist, an artisan or a business professional, the military has something for everyone. Finding a path in life is often filled with uncertainty and procrastination. The United States military is a path in itself, should one wish to retire from it; however, should a person wish to make their own path, there are benefits for that as well that can remove all doubt and curb procrastination. Due to these many benefits, I believe that it should be mandatory for all adults to enlist for a minimum of twenty-four months.

I have wanted to go into the military since i was very young. Most children say that they want to be a firefighter or a doctor, but i said that i wanted to be in the military. I remeber looking at pictures and learning about military officers and i felt called to be one of those men. My decision and dreams never changed, as most childrens do when they realize the work required. But for reasons beyond my comprehension, my desire of a miltary life never wavered. Both of my parents' fathers served in the military, one n the Air Force and one in the Army. They told me stories of their days in the military, bragging of their different branhes and I took what they said and choose a school that woud lead to a career in neither of their branches.

For as long I can remember, I have always wanted to be a soldier of the US Army. As I grew up, I heard stories from my family members about their life in the military. I had completely idolized my cousin while growing up, and when she enlisted it only strengthened my resolve to do the same. You could say serving in the military is in my blood, family, and future.
