For some, the transition from middle school into high-school can be drastic change in scenery and environment. People have different ways in getting ahead and learning. Those things might be to have good time management, good note taking skills, and amazing concentration considering the things that can go on in a classroom while the teacher is teaching or giving instruction.
One very important part of growing up is learning to manage your time better. A lot of the time in high-school, you’re given multiple assignments from multiple teachers. It is your responsibility to make sure that things get done in a timely fashion. It is also important to not spend too much time doing one thing. It is also better to make sure that you do things when
This quote constantly running through my mind as I begin the most important year of my entire high school career. Every morning as I sit on the bus on my way to school, I can’t help but replay a time during my freshman year when myself and everyone else around me weren’t sure if I would continue in school long enough to see my senior year.
Middle school is known as a time to mature for high school. For me, there were many changes I underwent after coming to the middle school.
Transitioning from middle school to high school now college. Hardships and victories I have experienced it all. I have gone from the shy student to one of the most involved and active student in my school.
Going from middle school to high school can be a big challenge in one's life. From
The biggest difference between middle school and high school is what the work is going towards. In middle school all one needs is to get a good grade for the sake of grades and maybe determine what classes they want to take in high school. That is far less pressure than faced high school. In high school grades can feel like a great weight on your shoulders especially in the more advanced courses. What is done in high school determines where your future leads in college or whatever is done after. It not only shapes your education but how you are presented to the adult world to be entered soon. Not only that, if your grades are not high enough you will be pulled from activities. Overall
Going from a middle school to high school pretty much for anybody can tend to be challenging. High school is the place where you start to mature yourself and better yourself for later on in life for whatever the future may bring. Coming from 8th grade entering into high school as a freshman depending on where you're at can be tough, you really start to realize that you are starting to have responsibilities. You may not start feeling that way in the beginning which in my case I could say the same, but it definitely comes. Converting as an 8th grader to high school you notice the teachers don't baby you in situations if it's your work or your project it's your job to know what's going on the teachers definitely won't look for you.
Mark Rowh, the author of the article “Beat the Clock: Students share time-management strategies that can work for you,” talks about the struggle that students have when it comes to time management. Rowh introduces us to the topic of his article by mentioning a high school senior and her daily life. He goes into detail about how her day passes by, and how she struggles to find time devoted to her well-being. He did a good job when he provided us with an example that we can all relate to. “Life is a balance of both busy moments and time for yourself,” says Rowh (2006, p. 24). I totally agree with him on that statement and I always try to make time for myself after I complete my responsibilities. The author collected five strategies from busy
Time management was one of my biggest struggles throughout high school, because I wasn’t able to finish some of my homework by the deadline, finish projects by the due date, and make my grades my first priority. I talked to Mr. Barker about my problem and he was able to help me with managing school work and sports. He gave me great advice. I began scheduling my time throughout the day, and planning around school work, putting school first. I put sports and non-school activities second. I am thankful for Mr. Barkers help and how he has helped me throughout high school and how he helped me manage my time very wisely. I believe that time management will help me in
The transition from elementary into middle school was tough, in fact I did not do well the first semester of that year. During these school years was unbeliebable the amount of people I met, especially my best friend. We used to play soccer a lot and ride bicycle all day long. Unfotunally, within those cheerful years my brother came to the US, which at the time felt like the worst thing that could've happened to me.
Transitioning from elementary or middle school to high school can be a new experience with chaos. If one is entering a humongous school that has two separate buildings, as known as south and north. There are many problems and skills that will be helpful for one to survive successfully in high school. As I have been in high school for almost five years, I want my future juniors to not make mistakes that I made during transitioning to high school.
My experience as a eighth grader at the Middle School was good. The skills and knowledge that will help me as a freshman at the high school would be to complete assignments when due, advocate for myself, and try to acommplish getting good grades, and at last staying organized. I am looking forward to strive for good grades, and being successful throughout the school year. Towards the end of my eighth grade year, towards March and April I learned about my upcoming freshman year. A group of Scarborough High School students came to the Scarborough Middle School cafeteria and told eighth graders what its like in Highschool and how to be successful as a Highschool student. Some things they talked about were core classes, programs of studies, study
Transitioning has always been a difficult for me. My freshmen year of high school experiences varied from disappointment, to complete chaos. Freshmen year of high school is tough, you worked yourself to the top to be placed in the bottom again. Not to mention middle school and high school are two different types of environments. I was aware that they were two different types of environments, so when my middle school offered a summer course at Carl Hayden High School I took the opportunity to help me adjust. The course was a reading comprehension class, I did not need help with my reading comprehension but took it to get a feel of how high school would be. Judging high school by one course was ignorant of me to do. From that short experience
From preschool to twelfth grade individuals are guided by their teachers and mentors; however, in college most of the work is dependent on themselves. Once a student enters college, they quickly begin to realize that they spend less time in classes then they did in high school. Many students begin to struggle because of this reason because they are so immune to having a mentor guide them and remind them when assignments are due. Professors may do that as well, but once a person hit college they are are now an “adult” and one should be fully aware to manage his/ her time. Time management does not only have to be used for school work; managing time is important when coordinating daily activities. This bring to the table that time management should be taught to students entering college in order to succeed. Students should adapt management skills because it will help one accomplish his/ her goals and be successful.
Time management is how to handle objectives within the time limit given. Just like a balanced diet, if there is an over excess of one thing it will lead to complications later. Actions such as watching too much television will put off schoolwork; while, overworking can lead to problems were family and friends are regarded. There needs to be a routine that checks off everything on your to-do list, including social and free time. On one hand, certain people have less difficulty managing their time. While on the other, there are people who must go through great lengths to achieve their goals. Daily Egyptian talks to Barb Elam, a stress management coordinator, about the issues college students face with time management. She states that reasons such as time management and procrastination are leading students to seek help for greater academic success. The solution to solve this varies from person to person. However, a start is as simple as keeping a daily schedule. The schedule should include everything such as; homework, meals, tv programs, work, class, exercise, volunteer work everything you would need to get done that day. Writing this down helps the brain
How I manage time is a reflection of what I value. Managing my time corresponds to how successful I will be in college and throughout life. Knowing and setting priorities to meet goals, carrying out plans, taking control of time, and staying focused are some events that are involved with time management. For many of us, balancing school with work and family is the greatest challenge involved with prioritizing. Good advance planning will help in meeting these challenges. Staying focused is usually difficult, especially for first-year students. Staying focused entails remembering and dedicating to the most important purpose for being in college. Sacrificing unnecessary commitments and keeping my
