Michael Jordan once said, “I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying.” From being cut by his varsity high school coach, to becoming a six time NBA champion and worldwide icon, Michael Jordan knows a thing or two about failure and hard work. In my pre-teen years failure was not a big deal to me but when the Under Armour top 100 basketball camp came around, failing would teach me lessons that I have used ever since.
It was a normal day from your average eleven year old. Wake up, eat some eggos, put on my backpack and wait for the school bus to arrive. I remember it was blazing hot out that day, which wasn't an odd thing for living in the arid land of Arizona, but today in particular the sweltering sun

For me at the time, basketball was not just a sport, it was life or death. I knew that I had to show off my talent at the camp to prove myself. When it was time to compete, walking into the sports complex was one of the best feelings I can remember. The intense bright lights hanging down from the ceiling made my eyes glow like nothing before. Hundreds of kids ages seven and up filled the gym, eager to start the camp …show more content…
The final day of camp. After countless games on the last day the moment everybody had been waiting for had finally arrived. Although the competition was tough I knew I could still have a chance to be in the top 25. The staff of the camp gave a talk, said thank you for attending and posted the scouting sheet up on the wall. A flood of kids ran up to see where they placed among the players at the camp. I waited until the huge crowd dismissed. Starting from the top of the list I looked for my name. Down, down and down my eyes kept moving. 87th: Kyle J Duffy was listed on the board. I was shook and could not move. Devastated, I made my way to the back doors of the gym where my mom had came to pick me up. When I saw her I started balling when I saw her. In Spite of my low ranking, I knew I tried my

Overall the book keeps your attention and you want to keep reading more. The author did an excellent job of describing the topic. I would strongly recommend it to my friends that enjoy sports. If you don’t enjoy sports than this book wouldn’t really mean anything to you. You would already have to know about Michael’s greatness to truly enjoy this book. This book taught me more than I already knew about Jordan and I loved the way the author described it.
Do you know someone who has failed numerous times, yet still gets back up to rise even higher? There may be many people who fit that description, such as Walt Disney, Oprah Winfrey, Soichiro Honda, and even the founder of KFC, Colonel Harland David Sanders. But, of all those people that we could invite to speak to the school, one person stands out, Michael Jordan, the "greatest athlete of the 20th century" (ESPN) One reason why Michael Jordan stands out is because once he succeeded in one thing, he kept on going higher, even after failing many times, while others didn't go much further after they achieved their goal. "I've missed more than 9000 shots in my career.
Proficient Athletes are the most gifted and most talented athletes on the planet. No one can do what they can do at the level that they play that game at. It is quite stunning, and a few people don't give a considerable measure of credit to a few players. For a player to wind up plainly an expert competitor it takes so much ability, assurance and duty that the world does not comprise of a great deal of expert competitors. Throughout the years, I have seen that hard working attitude inside the players has turned out to be essentially better.
Michael Jordan is one of the most successful basketball players of all time, due to one coach said he was too short. He wanted to prove his coach wrong, and this motivated him to become The Best. These achievements were amazing in college basketball, some people may make the argument that Kobe or Lebron never went to

December 21, 1891- The birth of basketball. It has been changed from simply shooting a soccer ball into a peach basket to dunking a seven pound, leather ball into an iron rim. In the early years of the game, basketball was not as popular as other sports. Michael Jordan once said “If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.” I love that quote because it reminds me to never give up. It reminds you that when life puts a wall in front of you, don't give up. Michael Jordan is arguably the best basketball player ever, but that never would've happened if after he got cut from high school basketball, he went home and cried.

“Maybe this guy is god disguised as Michael Jordan” (Michael Jordan). Michael Jordan is clearly the best basketball player to have ever set foot on a basketball court as Larry Bird put it jokingly. He wasn’t the perfect basketball player but he was good enough to surpass the rest of the league as a whole. There is no other player that has accomplished as much as Jordan and will probably never see something like it again.
